Classic taiwanese dishes at pocket-friendly prices of $6: 🍜 𝐎𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐚 - Slurp-worthy with its thick savory sauce, enhanced by the addition of tangy vinegar. Liked that it wasn’t too starchy and served with 5 fresh oysters. 🐷 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐮 𝐫𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐧 - Decent but personally found the braising sauce to be on the sweeter and lighter side (would have preferred greater depth). The pork belly was on the fattier side, resulting in succulent meat that would suit those preferring more melt-in-the-mouth bites. 🐓 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 - Generous serving of shredded chicken, doused in aromatic scallion oil. Impressed by how tender the meat was, and only gripe was that the sauce was a tad salty. Both the latter came with a braised egg which we would have liked more runny and with a tad more flavour. 𝐎𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 ($8.80) - Enjoyable rendition that we’d return for. Good balance of gooey and eggy, with lightly crisp exterior, and inclusion of juicy oysters and crunchy vegetables. Drinks: Pair your meal with refreshing drinks. Enjoyed the fragrant tea and chewy pearls but did find the pearls on the sweeter side (which went well with 0% sugar options).

Wide range of Menu to choose from and you will love the taste of the food. The price are reasonable and service was good and fast. Would recommend my friends and relatives to try the food. I love the milk tea and the pearl is chewy. Really make me feel I am back in Taiwan!

A wide range of food selections of authentic Taiwanese food. All dishes were delicious and flavourful. We like the pork belly rice due to its authentic Taiwanese food. The pork belly is moist and a good combination with the fluffy rice. While the salted chicken is unusually crispy, my son enjoyed it very much.

Taste was tad above your usual Taiwanese fare. The portion of the chicken and Udon could have been a tad bigger. While I understand the rising prices of stuff, it will take maybe some promotions or discounts to come back again. However, the Taiwan-inspired drinks were fine with oodles of ingredient and it’s reasonable.

Had a lovely dinner at this little eatery that’s somewhat tucked away. We had to join the waiting list but thankfully we were seated in around 15 minutes. Enjoyed the oyster meesua - I love mine sour so I added quite a bit of vinegar. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the braised pork rice 卤肉饭! The stir fried lettuce was also really good. For the milk tea, the pearls were a little too small and chewy for my liking but the tea and milk were flavourful and fragrant!

Loved their authentic and affordable taiwanese food! Lu rou fan was flavourful and tasty but my favourite was their scallion chicken rice! The chicken slices were so tender and i loved the sauce 😋 Would recommend their lettuce, salty chicken and milk tea too 👍🏼 It was quite crowded when we went on a weekday night though, waited 30min!

It would be good to come in a pair as the waiting time for groups can be fairly long due to the limited seats available within. Items ordered are 雞排, 滷肉飯 and 肉鬆蛋餅. - Seasoning used in their chicken would instantly remind you of those 40TWD 夜市雞排. Classic Taiwanese seasoning! - In terms of braised meat, I felt that it could’ve been further seasoned and more generous with its sauce. - Lastly the egg roll, it tasted like those classic 台灣早餐店. However, the pork floss could’ve been used as a supporting ingredient rather than being the star of its own.

Came across this shop over the weekend. Saw a short Q. See that it is selling Taiwan food, have a try on its Braised Pork rice & Oyster Omelette. The rice is not hot enough. Braised Pork marination not dark enough just like those in Taiwan. The Oyster Omelette still can do. Pricing is definitely on a high for 2 dishes, which is closed to $20/- for such simple meal. Does not fill me up if only the rice.

Was here last weekend to try out their Signature dishes and classic snacks. Very affordable price for the generous portions! I personally love their Chitterling & Oyster Mee Sua. The Chitterling were chewy and well braised, the osyter were juicy and fresh. Don't forget to order their pearl milktea! 50% sweetness taste just nice. Overall highly recommended!

Amazing menu, there’s just anything for everyone from kids to adults. We love the pork belly rice out of the many appealing dishes. The tenderness and flavours in each bite makes you want to more and more. Location wise is pretty much accessible and the staffs are very friendly. They are nearly closing when we reached and still assisted us even though we didn’t insist of being served.

Overall, yummy food at a cosy eatery at wallet-friendly prices. My partner and I ordered scallion chicken rice, veg, pork floss egg roll with cheese, milk tea, honey butter toast. I don’t usually eat rice bowls but I thoroughly enjoyed the scallion chicken rice which was flavourful and fragrant! Would definitely recommend this dish. Loved the hot milk tea at 50% sweetness too. I don’t really eat pearls but this one was nice! Would have preferred the egg roll to be more cheesy with the usual crispy kind as it turned out to be more of a soft chewy dough - still rather interesting and some may like that. Honey butter toast was a nice dessert to end our meal!

Average taiwanese cuisine at a chill neighbourhood. Mixed review from my group, but I feel the braised meat rice can be a lot better. Lacking in the fragrance as compared to what I had in Taiwan. Milk Tea is on the sweeter side, however the staff is very helpful to add more tea to make it lighter. Overall good experience and I recommend their meesua and egg roll!

Missing Taiwan's delicacies? Then you should made your visit to this Taiwan cafe @8degreesatsg! Cosy and homely vibes with Jay Chou's songs playing on loop in the background, we totally enjoyed the food and company! Most of the dishes were our favourites and we added more sides of the same type because it was really that nice! You will not want to miss the Pork Belly Rice [卤肉饭] and you can find it in Udon version too! Chitterling has always been my favourite and you can choose the bowl of Mee Sua with Oysters as well and have the best of both worlds. I strongly recommend Scallion Oil Chicken Rice, their best seller Salted Chicken and the Brinjal with Pork Floss was such a hit with the kids! We reordered that as well! And the bubble tea lovers get to enjoy their favourite boba too!

Having eaten in many Taiwanese eateries in Singapore, 8 Degrees is possibly the best I've tried. The food is tasty and quite authentic. The service was a little slow due to the sheer amount of food delivery orders. Seats are limited too.

The staff is very friendly. I went on a weekday for dinner(around 5+pm) and the restaurant is already quite crowded. Didn't wait too long for a table of 6. The restaurant is very cozy. Food was nice. I will highly recommend their salted fried chicken and pork belly rice!

  • 5/5 Maria Lourdes N. 9 months ago on Google
Small but cozy place with lots of good food and bubble tea perfect for the sunny Singapore weather. Scallion rice and pork belly may be their best selling but my favourite is their meesua. The flavour is just right with a lot of seafood toppings. Portion wise is big too but not for sharing if you are a big eater but reasonably priced so shouldn’t be an issue if it’s not enough as you still afford to order a second one.

A Legit Taste of Taiwan in Singapore, check it out !!!! Love the food, ambience and very friendly staff. We ordered: Chitterling & Oyster Meesua | Chicken Meesua Pork Belly Rice (Lo Rou Fan) | Pork Belly Udon Brinjal with Pork Floss | Eggroll with Pork Floss | Meatball Soup (Pork Ball) | Salted Chicken Milk Tea with Pearl | Honey Green Tea with Pearl | Grass Jelly Milk Tea

I love their signature pork belly rice—it's my favorite! The salted chicken and vegetables are also delightful. The overall experience is great—flavorful yet not too oily. 😋 The menu offers a wonderful variety, and their extensive milk tea options are a highlight. The ambiance, complemented by Taiwan pop songs, adds to the enjoyable atmosphere.

A place to find affordable and great tasting Taiwanese dishes. The service is prompt and loved all the dishes we tasted. The pork belly rice is a must try. Thai milk tea is very refreshing especially the pearls. The portions are just right. Kiddo loved their mantou with cheese. So crispy and light.

The service at 8 degrees is excellent! The staff was polite and friendly, we ordered 4 mains and 4 side dishes, 4 drinks and they were all served at the same time while warm. We enjoyed the chicken cutlet and rurou fan, which was super delicious. Hope to be able to come back for more again. If you search for them on Instagram, they may be promo code for discount. I was there on a Monday evening around 7pm, after we were seated there was a really long queue outside! Do go early to beat the crowd

Went over for dinner last night, place was packed even on a weekday. The mee sua was my fav, salt and pepper chicken was good too. The accompanying chili sauce was quite power! Honey green tea was nice and very refreshing. Overall, the food was delicious. There are many items in the menu that I’d love to try during my next visit.

  • 3/5 Lynne 7 months ago on Google
Salted chicken - small portion, tasted nice after asking for chilli powder. Should have an option to add chilli powder when ordering. Oyster Mee Sua - pretty good, decent and good flavour it after adding vinegar and chilli. Best dish out of everything we ordered. The most disappointing dish would be their signature pork belly rice. Taste totally different from those we tasted and enjoyed in Taiwan. Egg is just a normal hard boiled egg. Green lime with sour plum - drink is good. Overall it is an average restaurant serving average food at an average price. Okay to go if you are craving for Taiwanese food and you are near the vicinity.

Had a nice dinner at this Taiwanese restaurant. The staff is really friendly and the cafe itself is cosy. Loved their scallion oil chicken rice. It was very flavourful. We ordered 2 mains, 2 side dishes along with their signature pearl milk tea. The price is reasonable and definitely worth the visit.

Dropped by their kovan branch and had dinner with my partner here. We loved the atmosphere, though a small restaurant it didn't feel cramped. The food was great! At a very resonable price point and top-notch quality :-) I loved their honey green tea and their milk tea. The braised pork belly rice was very comforting to eat too! Looking forward to dropping by to try their other dishes again!

  • 5/5 Angeline T. 5 months ago on Google
Had a great lunch here. We ordered pork belly rice (lu rou fan), pork belly udon, scallion oil chicken rice, sesame cold noodles and mixed balls soup (pork & squid). Everything is really good. Especially if you like sesame sauce, you gonna love the sesame cold noodles. For drinks, we had the milk tea with pearl, honey green tea with pearl, jasmine green tea with pearl. They are not too sweet and the pearl texture is just nice to my liking. The place is also quite chill and they play Jay Chou’s songs all the way. Do note that you may need to wait outside during peak hours. Will definitely come back when looking for Taiwanese food.

Had a great dinner at 8degrees with my family, we really enjoyed the signature pork belly rice as well as the other dishes! The prices are affordable and it’s a hidden gem in Kovan. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Highly recommend the milk tea with pearl 👍 and scallion pancakes!

Wonderful place w great service! I love Taiwanese food! Theirs is authentic and it reminds me of Taiwan! Their side dishes and mains are really good. I personally love their Lu Rou Fan, the rice texture was great and fragrant. Even the braised sauce has seeped into the meat. There's fried chicken cutlet, oyster mee sua and so much more. Do try their milk tea w pearls too! Such a full-filling meal w my kakis!

I love the food here. Taste is very nice. And portion is generous. Staff is very friendly too! I love the fried chicken as it’s very crispy and yummy. The rice is also fluffy and the Lu rou is very nice. I love the milk tea the most. Will come back again.

Brought my friends there for a food tasting session, environment is small quiet quaint place. Their signature dishes all are great, my friends n I enjoyed our lunch there alot. We loved the pearls in our tea, so chewy! Thou its slightly inconvenient if u dont drive to Kovan outlet, but hey they have other easily accessible outlets around in SG.

Our favorite to go when we craving for Taiwanese food. The Pork Belly Rice is a mix of fatty and lean braised pork, pickled veggies, all on fluffy white pearl rice. 🤤 The Scallion Oil Chicken Rice has this killer fragrant sauce and perfectly shredded chicken. Worth the try

I had a wonderful dining experience at 8 Degrees. Loved the cool, easy chill vibes there. Staff were very friendly and warm. I enjoyed my food which was authentic, flavourful and everything was cooked to perfection. The signature pearl milk tea 🧋 and scallion chicken rice was our favourite. The taste still lingers on! My daughter also enjoyed the five cheese fries and crispy chicken cutlet. All in all a nice casual dining experience for our family at a very reasonable price.

For the price, the food here was pretty ordinary but is a good alternative for Taiwanese food. There’s a long queue during meal periods but it moves quick. A toilet is available too. You can skip the fried chicken.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Place was aircon-ed and comfortable and walking distance from Kovan MRT. I like how everything was tasty without being overly salty! I want to come back to try the rest of the dishes! What I ordered: Mains Scallion Oil Chicken Rice Braised Pork Rice Chitterling Mee Sua Sides Salted Fried Chicken Marinated Cucumbers Iceberg Lettuce with Garlic Sauce Drinks Honey Green Tea Bubble Milk Tea The tea was fragrant and they were really generous with the pearls! Overall, it was an affordable and good meal.

It was full house when we arrived the restaurant at 7pm on Sunday. Fortunately, we were the first group in queue so managed to get the table after 5 minutes. The restaurant is smaller compared to their previous outlet in Serangoon. Scallion oil chicken rice - Outstanding dish, more than we expected. The sauce is so nice, sweet and savory with tender shredded chicken. Sesame cold noodles - Saw a lot of good reviews about it so we decided to give a try but kinda disappointed. The sauce was too sweet for our liking, I feel like it's the Kewpie sesame dressing in the bottle we use for salad 😂 We ordered salted chicken and cheese eggroll with pork floss to share. The chicken was crispy but it lacked of something like the powder I think. The skin of eggroll was too thick and dry, lucky we ordered with cheese so it made some taste, the pork floss was quite generous but I will not get it next time. Pearl and grass jelly milk tea was perfect, I think this is one of the top Taiwanese milk tea I’ve had in Singapore. Recommend their milk tea and the scallion oil chicken rice.

  • 5/5 CF C. 1 year ago on Google
Likes to eat pork belly rice but find some places's version too sinful for me, like their 滷肉飯 as I personally feel it's not too fatty and melts in my mouth. The sesame noodle looks plain on appearance but the portion is big and feel it's a freshing dish for hot weather. Salted Chicken is crispy but not too salty so good for kids as well. As for the bubble tea, tried the zero sugar version but its a bit too 'healthy' for me, may go for 100% sweetness for a full blast sweet treat. But at least it offer those who don't like sweet drink an option (tried zero sweetness level bubble tea that can still be too sweet for some).

  • 3/5 Jackson S. 1 year ago on Google
Oyster mee sua is quite good but 卤肉饭 is totally out, not the same as Taiwan version. 炸卤大肠 is crispy on the outside and tender in the middle, not bad. Dessert is the highlight as the taste and texture are good.

  • 5/5 Cres L. 1 year ago on Google
Was there last weekend for brunch and we were there close to opening time so there wasn't a queue. The sides stood out for us mostly. Dessert was good too tho a tad sweet. Would've preferred the tea was less milky but pearls were perfectly cooked. Nice cosy place to chill with friends and family!

  • 4/5 Joseph C. 1 year ago on Google
Queue was a little slow at the start, the staff were helpful but seems short handed. The food was great, personally felt a little tone down to suit the local palate. But it still taste great! There are no service charges so do remember to add a tip if you find their services good. Only star missing is the lack of reservations options…

  • 4/5 Jeff 1 year ago on Google
Expect localized Taiwan food but it’s made on the spot and not reheated food. I do understand what some of the 1 star reviewers are saying on the food but as compared to many other Taiwan eateries in SG, this place is quite decent and has nice ambience. Though the seats and tables can be a little bigger. Good portions are enough to fill a grown man but don’t expect to make you feel full without ordering some sides. All the food I ordered came hot, not warm. Soup was almost boiling hot, the way I like it and how soup should be. Deep friend items were clearly freshly fried upon order and not reheated stuff. Worth the visit.

Our favourite is undoubtedly their signature Pork Belly Rice and Chicken Rice - heavenly blend of tender meat and flavourful sauce. It’s really a dish of comfort! The refreshing sesame cold noodles with the creamy, savoury sesame dressing, together with the added crunch from the lettuce, makes a perfect summer meal too! And let’s not forget about their oh-so-yummy bubble tea that’s sure to make your taste buds dance!

Our love for Taiwanese food brought us to here, and we checked out their newly relocated outlet at Kovan (previously located in Serangoon). As one of Taiwanese cuisine’s must-haves, their Signature Pork Belly Rice is a good place to start. Love the delicious braised sauce, and it comes with a good balance of meat, chopped pickled vegetables and a braised hard-boiled egg. The Oyster Meesua is another must-have. The broth is flavourful and not too starchy, and stir in a few spoonfuls of black vinegar & chilli sauce for an added zing. The Sesame Cold Noodles also won our seal of approval, which is served in a plate of noodles topped with nice nutty sesame sauce and julienned cucumber. Appetisingly good, refreshing and moreish. Still feeling hungry? Then tuck into hearty dishes such as Salted Chicken, Scallion Pancake, Eggroll with Pork Floss and Fried A Vegetables. And if you have room for dessert, try the Lemon Aiyu with Passion Fruit or Grass Jelly with Yamball. Else, sip on some Milk Tea, Grassjelly Milk Tea, Jasmine Green Tea with Pearl, or Honey Green Tea with Pearl to end off the scrumptious meal. Overall, the prices are affordable and the portions are just nice without leaving you feeling too stuffed or hungry, this is a must check out if you love a causal Taiwanese meal.

we tried their 🐷 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 — a classic, which was our favourite dish of all especially because the sauce was done really well and the pork had a good balance of meat and fat! we were pleasantly surprised by the 🍜 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨 — chilled, nutty and full of flavour… we slurped every last strand we also got their 🐓 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙊𝙞𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚, which was really fragrant and came with a generous serving of scallion oil and chicken. finally we got their 🦪 𝙈𝙚𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 — i suggest adding the chilli and vinegar to the broth to make it extra flavourful 🫦 we also got 🧋 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙩𝙚𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘽𝙪𝙗𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨 that we could choose to come with 0%, 50% or 100% sugar.

The Taiwanese eatery is located in the peaceful neighbourhood at Kovan, just enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. Tried their mixed ball soup, which consists of cuttlefish balls and meatballs. Both are firm, tender and bouncy. Find the soup pairs really well with the Signature Pork Belly Rice. Some may not appreciate its lighter-tasting flavour profile but it helps in not feeling too heavy after finishing the whole bowl.

Indulging in a flavor-packed feast with my friend! The Scallion Oil Chicken Rice took us by surprise with its incredible taste. Our table was filled with an array of mouthwatering dishes: Pork Belly Rice, Mee Sua (Oyster), Sesame cold noodle, Salted chicken, Brinjal with pork floss, Sesame chicken, Fried tofu, and Century egg with tofu. Each bite was a burst of flavors!

The restaurant is situated in the cozy corner in Lowland road. The ambience is clean and nice. We tried the pork belly rice, pork belly udon, oyster mee sua and scallion chicken rice. My children love the pork belly dishes. They eat took a braise egg. I find the oyster mee sua very comforting without being overly gooey. We completed the meal with the yam ball with grass jelly dessert. It certainly satisfied our cravings for Taiwanese food without being physically there.

Food standard is still very well maintained. You can see they are able to attract and retain many of their customers. Although it gets crowded during the peak time but they managed to serve ordered food very quickly. I love their chilli sauce so as my friends, it can really satisfy your urges for something spicy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

We love everything what we ordered here! The Braised pork rice was flavorful. The pork has a good balance of fat and meat, we prefer this type of pork. The scallion oil chicken was aromatic and tender. The sesame cold noodles is surprisingly soo good! It’s packed with sesame flavor and firm noodles that made us to order more! Cheese chicken cutlet was perfectly fried! Everyone praised the bubble teas, so must order their bubble teas!! it’s not too sweet and the pearls size is just nice for us! we even order and pack some more foods for our dinner! Will be back for sure

Very affordable authentic Taiwanese cuisine walking distance from Kovan MRT. Good portion size for main dish. The sides dishes very especially yummy and milk tea is great! Highly recommend Fried Chitterling - my daughter ate a lot not know exactly what it is.

  • 5/5 Charmaine L. 9 months ago on Google
The Signature Pork Belly Rice was really flavorful with its tender braised meat that was very well-marinated without being over salty. The Salty Chicken which was so tender and addictive! Also, we love the classic street snack - Scallion Pancake which is so crispy yet not too oily. Not to mention, they do have an extensive BBT menu but I prefered to stick to the classic Pearl Milk Tea with 0% Sugar which still has a well-balanced and very mild sweet milky taste with the boba pearls. Overall I really enjoyed our dining experience in the cozy cafe with delicious Taiwanese Cuisine at 8 Degrees!

This is a great choice for Taiwanese cuisine. We visited during the dinner time, and it was packed. We had to wait approximately 15 minutes for a table. They offer a diverse menu with many options to choose from. The food is incredibly delicious, especially their salted crispy chicken and Mee sua, which come highly recommended. The portion sizes are just right, and the prices are reasonable, making it a worthwhile experience. Don't forget to try their glass jelly milk tea too, nice.

We visited this popular Taiwanese bistro about a year ago year, and I am glad that their prices remained about the same! So good for the customer experience, knowing we have quality and affordable Taiwanese food here. Their signature minced pork rice is still selling at $6, and my favourite chitterling (intestines) and oyster meesua is $7. If you prefer without intestines, the one with just oyster is yummy too. For the price, I feel that their portions are generous and food is tasty. The Taiwanese music and vibe really reminds me of Taiwan. Another must-try is their milk tea - so creamy and shiok, though I wish they have a 25% sugar option instead so I can indulge with less guilt. I usually don’t like pearls, these are quite chewy so if you’re into that go for it. The green tea with honey or yuzu lemon is a great milk-free option. If you have space, the dessert we had was authentic and had a lot of liao (ingredients) in it. Parking for this outlet is available at the main road, and it is a short walk from Kovan MRT. Will definitely come back again.

Their pork belly rice is really definitely a must-order! Meat is so tender and flavourful, not oily at all. First time trying their pork belly udon and sesame cold noodles, so flavourful and shiok! And don’t forget it is a must to order their milk tea! The pearls are so chewy and the milk tea tastes milky.

Chasing for our favourite Taiwan food is even more convenient NOW - check out their NEW OUTLETS in Kovan and Sembawang ❗️ Food is as good as other outlets. We had a satisfying meal together: ❤️ Pork Belly Rice ❤️ Scallion Oil Chicken Rice ❤️ Oyster Mee Sua ❤️ Cold noodle ❤️ Pork Belly Udon We were instantly brought back to Taiwan on first taste. Not only they provide quality food, price was set at reasonable and affordable range too. Highly value for money… Many people flocked over and it was full house when I arrived, many continued to come but queue moved fast.

Went on a Thursday evening and the place was packed, luckily we went early and manage to grab a table without waiting. Looking at the menu, they have a great selection of food and reasonably priced, no wonder the place is packed. We ordered pork belly rice, pork belly udon, chittering & oyster mee sua, fried chicken cutlet, brinjal with pork floss and drinks. The chittering & oyster mee sua was my favourite: the chitterlings, also known as pig intestines, were nice and tender and the oysters were fresh and plump, accompanied with the mee sua noodles that has soaked up the flavors of the broth. We enjoyed the chicken cutlet too, it’s crispy outside and tender inside. The portion was good for sharing and the accompanying chilli sauce was quite power! I like the cosy ambience of the cafe and the friendly staffs, will definitely be back to try out the other dishes and the desserts!
