I wrote a review before but it didn't show up somehow. Probably because it was too long with complaints so I'm going to keep it shorter and a lot sweeter. If you're looking for cheap and don't care about anything else, book here. But don't stay for long. The owner is mean and inconsiderate and won't accommodate for his poor business management. Plus there was a fly, roach and mosquito problem. He's not professional and you run the chance of getting cussed out by him if you disagree or are concerned with little things. He also won't refund you your money no matter the situation. Don't expect him to uphold any promise he makes to you. It's a lie and he'll just do what he wants. He'll also keep people in the house who cause a lot of drama and severely disturb the peace and steal people's food. I ended up getting blamed for someone eating someone else's food. This place is the epitome of you get what you pay for. Spend a little extra money and book somewhere else. Also 2 of the 5 star reviewers work for him and I'm sure he's paid some of the other reviewers on here. It's like him to do something like that. EDIT: there he goes lying in the comments. Don't trust this man, lol.

My first hostel - I didn’t know I’d be sharing a room…but I stayed anyway and it was a good experience. The Positives Home is clean and renovated Safe The price 👍🏾 Lockers for ur valuables The female-only room and bathroom ✨🥰 Location- Close to both Houston airports. Close to downtown. 3 min walk to bus stop. Met ppl from all over the world House managers are very accessible Negatives Very Comfortable, but a hostel is technically not built for long term stay. Ex: cooking is limited (no stove). Space is somewhat limited (sharing a room!). Overall great experience and would do it again

A very good place for an essential visit to the city for a week or more, if you are looking for a more economical place, then this is for you. You can always keep your food in the refrigerator, meet new people from out of states or overseas, and friendly kitchen chefs who loves to cook and share meals with you. Hosts are also very nice, waited until I was coming back from work like my family do. Thanks for the positive welcome!

Comfortable beds, located close to a bus stop and great price in Houston. There are lockers, but those cannot fit a large bag. On the outside it doesn't look like a hostel, but the address and location on Maps are accurate so you can just knock on the door.

I don’t really have a huge expectation when I’m choosing places under $20 but I have never stay in such a terrible place like before. There’s literally nothing good that I could say about this property. The room and the bathroom was extremely dirty. It wasn’t even because of other people mess. the toilet looks like it wasn’t clean in a few months. I didn’t get a towel, the bed didn’t have a bed sheets and blanket that I supposed to sleep under smelled disgusting. I wouldn’t even call it a hostel. I think it’s a more of a place for people who cannot afford housing and staying there long term. I didn’t feel comfortable and safe there. That was a terrible experience. I don’t recommend it to anyone I would rather sleep under the bridge then go back to that place.

I advise no one to go to this location, the guests there are liars and are very disrespectful. The owners believe word of mouth instead of finding out what actually happens. People smoke in the rooms and are always stealing. The owners are very disrespectful and will talk to you like you're not a human. All they care about is their money and whatever drugs they can get from you. Definitely do not recommend

I came from out of state I had the chance to meet people, clean environment, and all food/shopping are close. I had a chance to meet international people and I enjoyed my stay. The area is in a nice quiet neighborhood and it was comfortable for me!

Cool place everyone was really nice and there's a huge backyard. It's actually really quiet. Beautiful house with awesome showers and everything is brand new.

I wouldn’t recommend nobody that want a comfortable night sleep. I was uncomfortable outside and inside because there’s no privacy and it makes u feel like you in jail.. you in the room with ppl you don’t know, which isn’t safe!

Don't waste your time going here, this place is hood af, they got bedbugs that has bedbugs. They say don't knock on There door and lol at people struggling to figure out how to jump thru hoops. Trust me. Pay the extra 20 bucks and get a nicer room, but if you want bedbug, bedbugs to take home the sleep there. And look out for rayray and pokie they be outside shooting at each other.. horrible place, while I was putting in my code it had a guy standing next to the door asking if I had any spare change. All I said may or may not be 100% accurate, bedbugs are real and hard to get rid of

So I stayed at the one called shut-eye hostel. This hostel is nicer, I guess because it's on the north side of Houston. The floors, and the walls could be cleaned. But other than that it's nicer, inside and out. The location is good too. Yes people do stay here for as long as the property, and their money will let them. So if you are looking for a particular crowd, try wonderstay hostel. There is another you can try if you are visiting, and don't want to think people are living in a hostel like people live in hotels. Edited: so I stayed two nights. It's ok, but the people walking around barefoot is too much for me. Come save money or not. I might come back but the beds are uncomfortable, and not enough cleaning, or cleaning products.

This is a fairly good hostel to stay at, especially for the price. It is in a quiet neighborhood near a bus stop. You have a kitchen and laundry room. The best part for me was the wi-fi. It's surprisingly fast and reliable.

People noisy all night, inside and outside the room. I felt uncomfortable for everyone treatment as if they didn't want me there. Bathroom and bathtub dirty, no toilete paper, have to ask for everything because anything was given. Pillow case smelly as used and blanket I didn't even dare to smell for it's looking. Lots of flies and bugs all around. If you are looking for nice decent clean place to sleep don't go there.

The inside was darned near immaculate. Nice build-out. Folks were friendly. And the price is impossible to beat.

Rude shady own who sounds ghetto as heckmon the phone extremely rude to deal with both in person and over the phone. Avoid don't give a holes like your money

Made a reservation here, but unfortunately I put the wrong date on the reservation, the lady there called someone and explained the situation who ever she talked to said that they would make an exception and refund me my money to just request cancelation which I did and then as soon as I left, I got an email saying that they will not accept the cancelation and that I will not be issued a refund, they blatantly lied to my face, will never come here again

I had a very good experience staying in this hostel. Room, bed, restroom and common kitchen was very nice and clean. All the staffs were so cooperative, nice and helpful. Public transportation area, restaurant and park was very close to this hostel.
