Service was questionable. The waiter checked our IDs and then brought the manager over to see them under the guise that he thought they said 2007 on them? If he thought that, why didn't he inspect them more closely the first time around? Their story didn't make sense. Anyways, we came for the HRW dinner menu. For the first course, we got the gorgonzola fritters and summer melon panzanela. For the second course, we got the pappardelle and salmon. For desert, we got the bourbon bread pudding and nocciola. It seemed like half the dishes were better than the others. The gorgonzola fritters and salad were good. The pasta had a lot of flavor, but the salmon didn't. The nocciola was also pretty good, but the bread pudding was not as rich as it should have been. Overall food was okay. Wouldn't come back only because of the service

We did not have reservations, however, they are highly encouraged especially for later dining. The bar was open and not crowded. We went once they opened on a Saturday and were seated right away. At that point our experience here was great.. Service We had a main server, Alex, but they all worked as a team to ensure we were serviced well throughout our dining. We never ran low on water, and if you're a bread eater, they brought such if you asked. They provided recommendations and were knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks If you're a wine drinker, they had a plethora of options. If your prefer a cocktail, they've got you covered there as well. The cocktails lacked no flavor and potent. The Italian Margarita (on the rocks) had a peculiar taste, but still a menu favorite. Peach Bellini (frozen) is perfect for a hot day. Food The pasta and brick oven pizza were fresh and homemade, which was to be expected. The chicken parmesan, pasta of the day, and fettuccine were good..no complaints. They have kid-friendly option as well. One minor mention, the pasta of the day included different seafood including crab, but the full crab was fried, which was a not preferred. If you're wanting a salad, be sure to ask what kind of green leaves are used if you have a preference. I'd recommend this place for fresh Italian, service, and experience (not necessarily live soft music ambience establishment).

I could literally just eat the pizza bread they start you off with, it’s so delicious! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The appetizers and dessert were delicious. The entree was a little bland but I would definitely try it again. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming and overall a good experience. Definitely recommend the shrimp and crab cheesecake!

Wow, this might be my be favorite restaurant. The service was so good. I feel like we had a team of 3 or 4 waiters and busboys waiting on us. Great teamwork. And the food... Oh the food! From the complimentary breads, to the specials, to the desserts. We started of with bisque that was exceptional. I had the flounder special of the day. So good! My teenaged daughter wanted a simple fettuccine Alfredo, which isn't on the menu, but no problem. They were happy to do it. And she says it was the best she's ever had... And believe me when I say she's had fettuccine Alfredo at a lot of different places, lol. The other dishes were all good. For dessert we split a cheesecake and the 3 scoops of ice cream. So decadent. Luckily we had our teenaged son with us, since he can finish any meal. But I could have eaten a tub of the strawberry ice cream. Insanely good. Only down side is that this place is expeeeeensive. Either way, not your usual local Italian food joint. If you have the means, or just have a special occasion to justify the cost, this is a great place to have dinner.

The manager and the waiters tonight gave me a renewed love of Houston cuisine! They knew they were serving perfection! The outdoor seating was fantastic as was the delicious meal. Each photo I added more about each plate!

Had my 45th birthday here. All I have to say is WOW! Best manager, JAY. Best head waiter, TOMMY. The place was really nice. The service was tremendous the food was really delicious. We came with a group of 16 and we had two waiters and they did a phenomenal job. Great place for a dinner gathering. Great ambience too.The banquet room is so charming with the vibrant, colorful murals that transport you to Little Italy. 5 stars all the way. La Griglia is perfect for a date or a night out with family and friends. Love y'all!!!

We had a good experience at La Griglia. We got the dancie salad and sausage and pepper pizza. Both were good, not the best we have ever had, but still solid. Our servers were attentive and I appreciated the complimentary bread basket and small dessert treats at the end of the meal. Overall, my experience here was good but not excellent.

What a wonderful dinning experience. From the moment we entered this establishment the service was at a 10. The menu is has complex flavors and though it is small there really is something for everyone. The pasta is fresh and light, and well balanced with selected sauces. The braised short rib is perfectly prepared and melts in your mouth, knife not needed. From the risotto to the gnocchi, every bite of our food was decadent and delightful. Even the ending espresso was divine. This special restaurant with next level service and bites bursting with flavor, is a better option than other chain restaurants such as Ruth Chris are Perry's. Great for date night, celebrations, or a well deserved meal, come and enjoy a wonderful, flavourful dinning experience.

We came here a birthday. I asked the hostess to let our server know about the birthday and requested the Italian wedding cake. She said they were out of it, but I saw it on another table later on. Our server was very short with us at times and when he brought the check he just literally tossed it on the table and walked off. The food was decent but the service was not the best. This restaurant is past its prime, and the only reason I come back is for the Italian wedding cake (aka strawberry ricotta cake).

First time here and everything was wonderful. All the servers were attentive and helpful. Cole was our server and he made great suggestions so we took him up on that. He picked out our wine, our pizza and dessert! He did an excellent job, always made sure our table was clean and set up for our next course. We’ll definitely be back to visit him! Thank you!

The food was delicious. We all bought different plates and shared, and there was nothing that I didn't like. The service was A+. My only complaint is that the tables are really close to each other, so it's hard to move around for the servers, and it gets too loud, almost to the point you barely can hear the person next to you. But the food is OMG The shrimp cheesecake is one of the best!

Been here before in the past but, came specifically for the Fat Tuesday pairing dinner. All I can say is "wow!" Absolutely beautiful decor, great service and, fabulous food/drinks! What an awesome event! Their service is always great but they really out did themselves! Already looking forward to next year!

If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Italian food with an unforgettable atmosphere, La Griglia is the place for you! Our server Carlos was very attentive throughout our experience and provided wonderful service. Great wine selection. The salads were light and refreshing. The rigatoni was amazing! The sweet, fresh sauce complimented the rich Parmesan crusted chicken. And make sure you leave some room for the show stopping Italian Wedding Cake! An all around wonderful experience to share with those you love.

Awesome service, ambiance, and food! I haven't been here for several years. But used to come often. La Griglia is a great place for a wide variety of Italian food done right. It was my birthday and my mom asked where do we go. This was on the short list. It was a Friday and we passed up Perry's Pork Chop Special, and didn't give it a second thought. From the Appetizers to the Desserts everything was spectacular. I drink quite a but of Ice Tea and it was ALWAYS full. Can't wait to go back now that I live in the neighborhood again.

I love that this place has free bread (and delicious too) and also free cookies after meal. I thought the mussels in sauce was so scrumptious. The spices/flavors could be stronger. The prices were standard for Italian restaurant and portions were just right ! The wait staff was so nice and the manager even gave me extra cookies ! Overall enjoyed this place and would come back.

#JoeFoodTour LaGriglia is a staple in Houston. You can see many famous people and wealthy to do people family river, oaks area who take their families there. I love the feel of the charm of the place definitely must have the pizza bread which is served as a starter. Everything's great on that menu especially the frutti de mare. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston

I must say, the ambiance and interiors were on point, but everything else was a major letdown. The bread course was served with cold bread and no butter, and to top it off, we were told we had to ask for it. The appetizers weren't all that great either, except for the Shrimp and Crab cheesecake, which was the only thing we enjoyed. However, the most disappointing thing was the $16 charge for a single piece of shrimp on Risotto (and I have attached an image to back it up). If the owner is reading this, I'd be happy to show them the receipt. Desserts were even more disappointing - the Chocolate torte tasted nothing like chocolate, and the other two desserts were just okay. I do understand you guys just opened in November and finalizing menu and training the staff can entail its own challenges, so I look forward to visiting them again in the near future to give y’all a chance to change my opinion of the food and experience.

Beautiful build out. Completely different look from the original. Gorgeous new location. Excellent service. Just a couple of weeks in. Brick Chicken was really good. Beef short rib dish was excellent. The kids had spaghetti and Meatballs which was delicious. Loved the flavor of the frutii de mare.

Dined at its new location on West Dallas just east of Waugh Dr. Was expecting a lot, and came away fully enamored with the new concept. Just enough new and old on the menu, with an interior that straddles Ratpack chic and art deco cool. Very impressed.

Parking nightmare, and emotionless staff. Food was good, and the place looks really nice, so that is something I guess. Usually, when I go somewhere considered to be more upscale, I expect a couple of things. First and foremost, pleasant and friendly staff. Today, while sitting at the bar, I watched two bartenders that appeared to be angry with the world do a job it does not look like they want to do. Neither of them smiled at any point during any interaction with the people sitting at the bar. No pleasant chit chat, not welcoming smile, nothing. Just two people that looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. The parking lot set the tone for the lunch. I figure they have roughly 140 parking spaces for the valet (80% of the lot easily) and 30 for non-valet self parking. The picture attached shows the area circled in red that you can self park in. The rest of the lot is valet only. Beyond that, the spaces have shrunk and 1/3 of the spots would not accommodate anything other than a compact car. Note, the spaces actually all have "Compact Car" painted on them, although it is faded now. So well, there is that. I won't be rushing back here. If you like good Italian and you are in Houston, and there are literally dozens of places that would give you a better overall experience. Mia Bella,
