Where are all these good reviews coming from? This place is gross. The garlic sauce tastes like pure mayo and my dish was drenched in it. the rice has zero flavor. The only reason i don't give one star is cause the service was quick and good and the place was clean . Food is grosssss.. maybe skip the sauce 🤮

The Sauce!!! Excellent bowl portion is gigantic. I go for the combo bowl no lettuce. The beef and chicken is juicy and insane combo when get a forkful of that beautiful orange gold rice and your protein smothered in their famous white sauce. The fries, I can’t put my finger on the oil or method they are fried in but it is so good. It is something familiar from a past place. But they are so crispy and fluffy on inside. Place is absolutely in my corporate lunch rotation.

This was our first time eating at The Halal Guys. We were cheerfully greeted by the staff as soon as we walked in. When I shared it was our trip, we were given a couple of samples which was awesome. Food was great! We had freshly-made chicken shawarma which was REALLY good. And the French fries were The BEST! I have to give a special shout out to Ebony. I can honestly say she provided the best customer service I’ve had in years. She was SO very friendly, explained what everything was, and was just damn right as SWEET as she could be! Everyone needs a lesson from Ebony in customer service!!!

Delicious food as always, and the staff were fantastic. Brian, Chris, and Ebony were so nice and made sure I had everything I needed.

Always a great place to eat, probably my favorite and most frequented place in all of downtown. I go at least twice a week and it never gets old and is always the same great quality and service The night crew is especially great 👍 even for a later dinner the food and service is awesome if not better than lunchtime.

Great food at affordable prices. The staff there was also very pleasant and friendly. There is an entrance from the street and one from the building. The street entrance seems to the one that is typically more open. The food there was all really good and a really great quality. The cookie was delicious! Check them out in NYC too!

Updated Review: This location is always on top of their game, professional, welcoming and fresh quality not just once but consistently as I eat her 2-3 times a week. While many restaurants and even other Halal locations can be inconsistent, this location takes consistency and customer service to a whole another level. There is a wonderful employee by the name of Jahshua who takes superb care of myself and fellow customers. I have been helped by Jahshua at least15-20 different times and he is always polite and helpful. The last time I came in, I forgot my wallet and had to go back to my car which was parked a bit away. Jahshua ensured my order was set aside, kept warm, and took care of checking me out quickly when I returned. I have seen how he handles other customers and as a business owner myself, I would want someone like that leading my business and interacting with my customers. I'm sure he will be setting the example as a manager at some point in future. In terms of the quality, Im originally born in NYC and raised in NJ. This location is as good if not better than 85-90% of the Halal Guys back on east coast. Does it compare with the original one on 53rd-54th, well it's pretty darn close. I think I speak for many other residents when I say this but Downtown Houston is lucky to have such a great establishment here. Service here is always top-notch and food is usually terrific. Definitely try the chicken and rice platter. They have a nice rewards program which allows you to take advantage of discounts as a loyal customer. Definitely recommend if you're in Downtown Houston

Upon arrival customer service was great. It was my first time trying halal food and Ebony did an amazing job explaining the menu. My food was fresh and rich in flavor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

I went to the halal guys on fannin and capital and it was soo clean the employees where soo polite extremely attentive and helpful and I can’t forget Bryan and Chris they are a god send may Peace love and blessing

I'm a bit disappointed that I paid $5 for the baba ganoush and only received less than half a cup full when I opened my order. Feeling cheated.

The spiced lamb was very salty and you will have to add additional $6 for the change to that seasonal spiced lamb. Can also dine in.

we got the signature chicken and beef gyro platters and topped it w their spicy hummus and baba ghanoush! the spicy hummus was my fav topping it had a nice kick and added an extra layer of creaminess to the dish. the portions were also huge we had enough leftovers for a second meal! another fav was the baklava cheesecake which was sweet, creamy, and def one of the best cheesecakes ive had! the drinks were also super refreshing and there were so many diff flavors to choose from. what we got: - beef gyro platter + baba ghanoush - chicken platter + spicy hummus - falafel with tahini - french fries - baklava - baklava cheesecake - mango lemonade - lychee iced tea ig: @whatsviveating

This place was a little hard to find, i was confused to find out that it’s located inside the tall corporate building and you have to walk down a long hallway. But boy was it worth it! The food always goes so hard. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl with hummus. The different flavored lemonades are always so yummy and sweet not too tart. The Hummus is sooo yummy with the soft pita bread. Always ask for more of the white garlic sauce, its worth it.
