Best park in Central Houston. 44 acres surrounded by Texas Medical Center, Rice University, Houston Museum District.

Excellent parking spot in the area! Good to park here than other place

Good place to parked the car for going to the museums and the parks around,limit for 3 hrs, I guess is enough time to enjoy.

I park here and walk into the Beautiful McGovern Gardens. This a lovely place to walk around in. There is a mini mountain that you can walk around and up to the top that crosses over a water feature and fountain with reflecting pool. Nice free parking on the Herman. Herman park has nice paths to run and green spaces to wander.

Parking was CRAZY the day I stopped by in late February on a Saturday afternoon. That might be normal, I'm not sure as I was visiting from out of a town. It was worth the wait. I walked around the great path from the parking lot that goes around the golf course, and it was a great walk with lots to look at. It's a 2 mile trail around the peripheral, I believe. The trees were pretty, I'd say about 1/2 of it (maybe a little more) was in the shade when I was there in the late afternoon.

Great park with plenty to see. Right by the zoo and museum district. Many spots to take pictures. Picnic tables. Green open space for some football or Frisbee. Dog friendly but they must be on a leash. Parking is a problem even though there is plenty of parking spots all around the park. My kids had so much fun here.
