I have been here before and had a good time, but on the last visit the women's bathroom was not even available. I understand that it is a dive bar, but there should be an option for ladies to not to have to use the men's restroom. On top of this, I had bought one round of six shots for my group of guests, and apparently this justified the bartenders to take it upon themselves to charge me an auto-gratuity on my entire tab; without informing me. I had left an entirely more than adequate tip for the service provided, before realizing they had already treated themselves to 20% of my tab without telling me, but I had already signed for it. This is unheard of in the Houston bar scene, and I will not be returning again. Feeling ripped off, despite trying to tip well for bad service. I've never been charged auto-gratuity at a dive bar before, despite being in the service industry for over ten years.

This is an outstanding bar. The bartenders are second to none. Great drinks and drink specials. Very clean bar as well. This bar provides entertainment darn near daily, also comedy on every Wednesday. This bar can't be beat. I can't wait to go back to Darwin's!!!!

Meek's Vegan Pizza is located inside the pub, some of the best vegan pizza I've ever had! Bar staff is super friendly, lots of really cool wall art. Room to sit inside or a shaded patio outside. Free parking as well!

Outdoor patio is as soon as you walk in, followed by a covered area with 4 pool tables. To the side of the pool tables was a section set up with a chalkboard menu of food that was being cooked outside. Ordered some breakfast tacos (good) and French toast (meh). Once I walked into the indoor bar it was somewhat small but open and clean. A tiny stage was on one side of the room where a burlesque show was going on. The two bartenders were both attentive and made good drinks. My sister asked for one particular drink that the bartender had to Google the recipe for (a Shirley temple with a twist). The place seemed chill, a different mix of people.

Very chill atmosphere...RAW NO CUT open mic and performances really take it up a notch. The pool tables are really cool and we like the fact that you can change the music on the juke box. This place has lots of parking and great food but the bar tenders are better.

Came to eat and catch a drink. the chicken alfredo was really good! Cool, super chill spot! nice outside seating & pool tables!

I go here often for Karaoke Monday. One of my favorite bars with lots of familiar faces always coming through. Steak Night Tuesday, Open Mic Comedy Wednesday, Open Mic Music Thursday...also bingo and trivia. Great Food and drinks, super friendly bartenders and staff.

The drinks were good. I attended the Burlesque Show. A great performance!

I was there for Meek's Pizza, but it looked like a super fun place to have a party and hang out. People were dancing inside and playing pool outside. It was pretty loud and lively, and people were super friendly. The vegan pizza was amazing!

The atmosphere was great and so were the drinks. My boyfriend and I went here for the jukebox trainwreck! The musicians that did the set are so funny and they are terrific singers. It was a great experience, I will definitely be back for the jukebox night and maybe karaoke

Went here on a night they had a drag show. Had lots of fun. Drinks were good and reasonably priced for the area. Staff was amazing. Wish there was more indoor seating but a minor issue for me but it is Texas and it do be hot lol.

My Grandmother always told me that if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything. I can't believe that I walk into Darwin's and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The place is clean, the service is 1st class and the food and drinks are without a doubt top choice. One of the partners (J. P.) made sure everyone was having a great time was beyond satisfied. Please take time to visit this place and experience it for yourself.

Darvins Pub in Houston is a 5-star gem! Their amazing beer selection, cool vibe with pool to play, great music, and friendly bartenders make it a must-visit spot for fun with friends. Highly recommended!

I tried to eat there 😂 I was told by the owners 12 yr old that all pizza orders are to be done online . I didn’t realize it was all vegan. Hey I’m good with vegan and all into this but I wasn’t interested in eating vegan pizza when I don’t have to . And I know they do real pizza. The other day the bartender was taking orders when I was there for comedy Wednesday and doing a set. I am not eating vegan and I asked about pizza with real pepperoni and I tried to go online and it was so “I hate this word” discombobulated! What’s the real site to order from? Then I’m not finding the “real cheese “ “ the real pepperoni “ and it was just a total cluster fuk and especially with my T Mobil going in and out and people shouting “ go on wifi” fuk your wifi …. If you know anything about security you don’t go on wifi.. I have personal photos with very discreet people and my financials and other docs that are for my eyes only. I never use wifi unless it’s secure. Anyway I left and went and tried another spot.. I had a GOAT pizza at pizzaros and was quite impressed with this New York style pizza. And your viewpoint is the kitchen that they don’t try to hide😲 . The bartenders were amazing and really friendly. I absolutely love how they jammed with the band there tonight. 10/10 would recommend and will come here again.

Auto gratuity?? Really? I joined a friend on his suggestion to throw back a few with a dozen of my coworkers there. We all drink like fish and were looking forward to staking out a new watering hole for a weekly hangout. We represent thousands of dollars in monthly alcohol sales. Darwin’s charges a 20% automatic gratuity on every tab no matter how small and the staff do not mention this when handing out checks. When a coworker pointed this out and I asked for my settled tab back to remove the tip I’d left- they would’ve made more off of my tip than the auto gratuity- I asked the very friendly bartender why they didn’t mention this. She pointed over her shoulder at a sign I didn’t see that apparently justifies this sneaky unscrupulous practice. They lost not just my business but the weekly business of dozens of my coworkers. Stupid move, Darwin’s.

Not a regular at all, but I have them on my list as one of the only bars in H-Town where a fella can karaoke on a Monday night. I guess I've probably been here a dozen times or so in the last 3 and a half years. The karaoke jock (Robert), took excellent care of me. Folks, if you like karaoke, go to this bar on a Monday night. Terrific vibe, and several different genres/style of music are represented by the k singers.

My favorite bar in the city. The bartenders are attentive and don't keep you waiting long, no matter how packed the place is. The drinks are worth the money spent. The other bar goers are some very chill and sociable people. I'd recommend this bar to anybody looking for a dope spot to drink, chill, and socialize.

The general manager there is absolutely the sweetest person ever! Definitely makes you feel welcomed and want to come back!

Went to this place to support a friend who was proving the food for the night. I went to the bar and the bartender (Honey) asked what we wanted. I asked for a strawberry margarita and she responded oh I’m not making that right now and literally refused to make the drink because she didn’t want to. I was appalled! She appeared to be under the influence of something. I spoke to the manager and then the bartender proceeds to tell another customer I’m trying to get her fired and tells yea thank you very much. Manager offered free drinks. I paid for my one drink and declined the free drinks. ILL NEVER GO BACK.

I went for gumbo Sunday and vibes was on point. For that I would go back but baby if they don't get a cleaner in that bathroom I won't b going there again. I have been to a lot of bathrooms in my lifetime &+ that had to of been the nastiest bathroom I steeped in. I almost threw up it was that bad. Like I see Sunday freestyle open mic was a whole vibe but the br would have me never step foot in that place again. I'd rather go outside frfr &+ if I wasn't on my period I would have!!! Smh do better #itzNono 🌈

Dope bar im the middle of the heights area. Has laid back moments and T-up moments but over vibe is great. Not kid friendly just to be sure you know.

One of my favorite watering holes in the city. They always have solid beers, good food with a kitchen open really late (midnight), they're dog friendly, and have the best bartenders (Tiffa is nothing short of amazing!).

This place is great! We came on a whim because we saw they were having karaoke night and it was a blast! Everyone had so much energy and hyped everyone up! 10/10 would come again.

I really like this place. We’re here for the second and the atmosphere couldn’t be any greater. Live performances, great drinks, and spectacular energy! I recommend coming if you want to have a real chill night and some fun! They also do different things depending on the day, so just keep coming 😅

Nice music, eclectic ambient, great staff people. They have pool tables at good price at the shade. Recommended.
