Amazing experience!! Food is amazing and fresh. Wait staff is very attentive and professional! Brought my son for his birthday and he loves this place !! My kids also loved the fact they they got to cook and play on the grill !! Will definitely be back again !!

If you have not tried this place I would highly recommend it. It's hard to find good Japanese BBQ where we're from. So when we go to Houston we do our best to find new gems. This place was amazing. They offered anything you could want. There was four of us in our group. 2 of us have eaten this several times while the other could we are with had never had the experience. For this we got a course packaged meal. The packages i think are great for newbies that way they can try most varieties available. We got the one for 4 which was only $135 which is amazing for everything you get. You get at least 10 types of meats, 5 starters and a dessert for everyone. This place you cook your own meat so make sure you want to put the work in to make it. They are thinly sliced meat so they cook fast. The experience here was great and they brought the food out in perfect coordination. I highly recommend it and I think if your afraid of places like this, this is a great start. You can find what works out for you and a great place to bring friends. The one in Houston offers course packages meals, ramen, noodle plates, small plates of meat of you only want one set meat and other food items you can order.

Took the kids here for some BBQ fun and they had a blast. The food was really well seasoned and and the quality of the meats was good. Their lunch happy hour is a great deal and has a huge assortment to choose from. Kids loved finishing off the meal with some s'mores. 1⭐ deducted for spotty average service. Kids didn't get utensils and when we asked for some, the waitress acted bothered... And then didn't bring any. Had to ask a different waiter to get us the utensils. ☹️

My daughter and grandaughter love this place! So our company and myself visited at my daughter's suggestion. I didn't enjoy my experience. There was too much smoke, the meat stuck to the grill because they nolonger precoat the grill. The chicken in the noodle bowl was ground chicken instead of chicken chunks. The mojito was mediocre at best. Service was good though; the waiter did an outstanding job!

This is a cool place to take a date, your family, or a group of friends. The menu has lots of choices, even dessert. Everyone in the party must choose the same menu tier. The server will suggest that you choose eight items to start with. There is a 90 minute limit on the table to prevent people from gorging out and wasting food. We only needed an hour to enjoy and get very full. This location has outdoor seating. The sake was good. I enjoyed the premium menu selections, especially the shrimp and chicken thighs. The s'mores were fun to make for dessert. The parking lot was packed! I circled around four times and ended up parking on a meter two blocks away.

I came here as it is still opens around 11:00. Food was good. Beef tongue with scallion sauce is pretty delicious, and it works well with rice. Service is a bit weird. The guy who took my order and brought me food was nice. But there was another guy who took away bottles of sauce from my table before I finished food, I guess it was because the time approached to the closure? In addition to this, the dinning area is fact dimming and noisy. I would appreciate a slight dark yet quiet dinning area like a fine dinning restaurant or a bright and noisy area like a popular spot, but a dinning area similar to a nightclub might be just not for me.

First time at a Korean barbecue restaurant! We had the meat lovers special and it was delicious and very fulfilling! I loved the experience of cooking at your own pace. All of the meat was delicious, we did make all the upgrades just to get the most out of the experience. Definitely a must try! Can’t wait to come in with my kids so they can enjoy the experience as well! Also our server was great super attentive!

We had a wonderful experience today. Chris was serving us and we got our dishes promptly. Great atmosphere, high quality food. Absolutely my favorite Asian BBQ restaurant!

We used to be loyal customer to this location. We went here once a week for a long time. We came back today to show a good place to our niece who just first came to the U.S. However, it's such a bad experience!!! First, the host led us to the table, he tried to turn on the grill, but after few times it did not burn, so he just left. Then we just sat down about 30secs, the grill popped up, scared us and the fire almost hitted our face. We asked another staff member to take a look, but he just looked at it and laugh, that's it!!! 😡😡😡 the server brought out the miso soup comes with the lunch special. Everyone can see that it's just water with few green onion, 1 piece of wakame seaweed and oil on the top. We were wondering where miso base and tofu is. Next, after bringing out the meat, the server did not come back to oil the grill. He just left and did not come back to refill our water even 1 time. Although he came around to pick up the empty plates, but he did not see we ran out of water in the middle of meal. Moreover, we asked to substitute the white rice that comes with the lunch special for brown rice, but he still brought out the white rice anyway. When he came back we requested the brown rice one more time which took another 5-10 minutes after we already started eating. At the end, we were charged for both white and brown rice. There should not have been any charge, but we got charged for 2 bowls. Finally, if you order the Harami Skirt Steak, they will charge extra $5 with regular amount (5 pieces) that we did not see it before.

An absolute must try! I've gone to Gyu-Kaku multiple times, and have enjoyed each experience more and more! This AYCE joint has an alcohol bar, plenty of indoor (and outdoor) seating, and a variety of delicious menu options and foods to pick from. The service here is friendly, attentive, and will guide you if you have any questions about the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty tranquil, and offers a relaxing environment to enjoy your time there. There are three AYCE menu options, each upgrade allowing you to select from the previous menu options. I love menu option #2, as they have avocado salad and mochi ice cream. The meats, sides, and drinks here are amazing. I absolutely love this place. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

Encountered a bit of an issue with our grill not working, but the staff figured it out. Very happy they did - this was an excellent lunch! Great price, high quality, fun experience, and good service. They offer a number of menus - to the point it's almost overwhelming - but I'll make it simple for you: get the special that has the most options for your price range! You won't go wrong!

We had a reservation and ordered the value meal. The servings were just right for two people. Fresh miso soup and salad! Meats are well seasoned, very delicious! The in-built grill of the table was very convenient and easy to use. Love the refillable yuzu lemonade. Thank you for the delicious dinner!

I have zero complaints. This place is always amazing. Chris helped us today and he was a wonderful waiter, on top of everything and polite and energetic. The volcano tuna is a must try here!

Oishii!! That’s means taste good in Japanese, and everything we ate here tasted really good. My crew and I shared a couple of meals and the table wasn’t large enough for the plethora of food we dined on. Some how we managed to finish everything, leaving with our bellies fat and full. Our waitstaff was named Koii, like the fish, and he was so delightful, helpful and kept a smile on his face while answering all of our questions.

First time in a Japanese BBQ and we loved it. Service was good and food was excellent! We had fun and enjoyed our dinner.

Chris our server was very attentive and was constantly checking to make sure we have enough room and food on our table. It's definitely less hectic during the week compared to the weekend considering how busy they can get. Overall, I'm always satisfied with their food and service.

I really came here solely for the miso soup but they have a very extensive vegetarian menu in addition to a great Happy Hour and All You scan Eat specials. The environment was very clean and the staff were very quick to greet me. They also do a cute bday song.

yummy food, i think their prices went down? i went there yesterday for dinner. got 2 choices of meat, it came with rice and soup, and i also ordered chilled dumplings and the total came out to $30. . i know they get busy for dinner all the time so good thing i came for an early dinner 5:30pm ish. place is always clean and have good service. and of course delicious food :)

Came to Houston from Milwaukee to visit my daughter and she took me as I have never been. Had the most amazing time and food! It was made extra special because our server, Chris was so awesome! He was very knowledgeable, made great suggestions and provided exemplary service! Thanks Chris for the great experience!!

Went here with my sister and nephew. Loved the food and the service was great. We had a reservation for 8 and arrived about 15 min early and they sat us down before 8 since they had tables ready. All of them really nice and attentive. Definitely recommend and yes I'll be going there again.

Umm food was good.. I just don't see the point of making reservations and putting a note n the reservation section if the workers not gonna do it.. I specifically ask upon arriving did yall have my special request the hostess said yes... get seated at the table .. request never came 😡😡😡😡😡

The food is always good here. The visit started out nice, we were getting served fairly nicely and quickly. About halfway through however we got told there would be a shift change, which is perfectly okay. But service dropped, they had at least three issues with charging us for our meal, and all around it soured the mood for what was supposed to be a nice birthday lunch/dinner.

The flame 🔥 kept going out on our grill and it had to be restarted quite a few times. The food was pretty good. I'm not too keen on the miso soup. I've had better several times. The broth was good though. The salad was good. The chicken was good. The pork was actually delicious. The shrimp 🍤 yum! The different types of steak were all excellent choices. We chose the 4 person meal. They have a few different ones to choose from there. 2 people had drinks and everyone had water to drink. There was plenty of food to go around. The noodles were bland but after some sauce was added they were perfect. Our meal did not include rice but we were able to add it on. The service was pretty good overall. Everyone left happy after eating our smores. It was a fun experience to go there. It was just as entertaining doing the cooking as it was to eat. This was a great place to go eat, but is pricey. First, know that you cook the food on a tabletop grill at your own table. We spent $169.00 on a meal meant for 4 people. It was worth it! We left happy and with memories.
