👍👍 Cute little park. I like putting the car under the bridge where the college students park, and cutting around town on the water way. Under some of the bridges looks really cool. That parking area doesn't replenish via phone though, so make sure you put enough money.

Championship Park has been a favorite spot of mine for a number of years. For being directly adjacent to downtown Houston it is surprisingly peaceful. If you are interested in exploring some of Houston's past I strongly recommend visiting. The old and historic Willow Street Pump Station (The old red brick building with two smoke stacks.) is right next to the park. Built around 1903, this pump station is one of the few remaining structures from old Houston. Regardless of why you visit there are also nice views of the Houston skyline from here.

Since they have moved out the squatters this park has really come into its own. I enjoy the peace and quiet, even with it's close proximity to the freeway. On a beautiful clear spring day it is perfect for a picnic, with the Houston skyline in the background. Or just to grab some solitude from the city to get outside and read a book.
