Finally got the chance to try this place and I was not disappointed. The menu is nice and simple, the place has plenty of seating and the food comes out fast! The food definitely tasted like I was back in Mexico! The food had so much flavor, it tasted fresh and the stuff was spicy which I LOVE! They also have different deals for every day of the week. Definitely want to come back to try other stuff.

I had a great experience Dined in. Let them know it was my first time they explained how simple everything was. Got the Birria Torta it was delicious 🤤 The bolillo was so soft , everything just melted in my mouth. They have q salsa buffet which made it even better!!! My favorite is the spicy avocado salsa! Tried the Lemonade with chia seeds! Great touch! Definitely would come back.

Perfect option for after party tacos!!! 🌮 They are open until late night… delicious ingredients, good meats (birria and asada were the top choices for me) and condiments (just ask before for the sauces, some of them could result a bit spicy if you are not used to them). The street corn on the cup, simply outrageous, Next level flavor with the corn infused in Poblano pepper juice!! 🤤🌽 And, of course, a large selection of ice cold beers! 🍻😍 10/10 Place!! No doubt!!

1st off let me tell you Jorge was very kind and very attentive he made sure our meals was prepared very well. He offered us a special Margarita which was prepared with love and we felt it. I ordered with Roger, whom wad equally awesome, the Brirra tacos which was my 1st time trying and won't be my last. Every other restaurant has a very high bar to meet. First timer and will hopefully return the next time I'm in Houston.

Amazing place with a great atmosphere, to include awesome food!! We went as a group during our Houston trip… ordered the 20 tacos/4 choices of meats, street corn - the bomb, salsa was delicious. Definitely coming back!! Thanks La Calle Tacos !!

Me and my wife were in town for a few days and spent the majority of it eating tacos. It was late on a Friday night we were exhausted after a work event and took an Uber La Calle as it was recommended to us. The food and the service were fantastic. We ended up going twice in as many days. Tortillas were fresh, all the meat options were seasoned so well. I appreciated all the drink options as well. Will definitely put this on my rotation whenever I’m in Houston again.

The first time I came to this place I LOVED IT! I needed good Mexican food, and haven't really found any since moving here from Cali. My Mexican friends came to visit me, and they heard of La Calle, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered elote, and the birria with a tequila flight. We all gave this place a thumbs up! Last night my roommate wanted Mexican, and I told her about this place. I convinced her, when I said they had tequila flights. We got there, sat at the bar, and Will took our order. We ordered the flights, and he sat them on the bar without the flight tray. Since I've been there before I asked about the tray and he said they didn't have any. That was disappointing, but I continued to order my food and have a good time. Soon after, a non black patron sits at the bar and ordered a flight as well. My roommate and I watched Will get out the flight tray and served this customer. My roommate says "I thought you said you didn't have any trays?" Will walked right passed us and said in almost a whisper "sorry." This definitely blew my mind, because I expected the same service as I had when I came here with my Mexican friends. Will never came back to talk to us. He actually had the buss boy take my credit card payment. Judging by the fro the buss boy had, I'm sure he was partially black. Will didn't feel comfortable finishing his job with us, because we caught him racial profiling us. I come from a fine dining background, and I would never do anyone like this. Customer service is important, and I will never forget how he made me feel. I also can't believe that someone who works in this industry would sacrifice their tip over something as small as just getting the damn flight tray out!!!!! I've always been a great tipper, hell I'll even pull out my calculator to make sure I giving the right percentage, but bad customer service is a NO NO and being a racist is sickening. I texted both of my Mexican friends to tell them about this experience I had, and they were just as blown away as I was. I won't be dining or drinking here ever again! I also hope Will understands that all patrons should be treated equally, and that I hope he never finds himself in a similar situation that he put me in.

The tacos are pretty good, I would recommend them. On the small side but still tasty. The cheesabrirria tacos are great. So are the Aguas Frescas. The prices are ridiculously though. Expect to spend at least $20 and closer to $30 for one person, and that's not including any alcohol beverages. I don't think the portions are sufficient for the prices. Do not order the elote! $8 for this sad tiny cup is robbery. Great service and nice ambiance though!

The carne asada and carnitas tacos are delicious! The desebrada tacos are a little too spicy for my taste. The green salsa is very good but spicy so be careful when adding! The corn I would not get again, for some reason I did not like them the taste was a little odd for me. The horchata was pretty descent, can’t tell if it’s natural or not. I will repeat these tacos are delicious and worth trying!

The tacos were really good and the birria was tasty. Service was quick and there were lots of toppings and salsas you could add. It looked like a pretty nice cantina in the adjacent room. The location is convenient near the train and they're open late.

Please read before going if you want to avoid a bad experience !! The reviews clearly indicate a pattern of staff engaging in racial profiling and horrible customer service. Despite wanting to give this place a fair chance, the discourteous behavior of the staff is hard to ignore. They seemed disorganized, frequently walking away and shouting across the kitchen during the payment process. While not all staff members were impolite, one tall and big Mexican lady stood out, giving me negative looks and speaking rudely despite my respectful behavior and tipping. I usually don't encounter issues and am understanding when workers seem stressed, but her attitude was particularly arrogant and disrespectful. On a separate note, the food is overpriced, and the establishment appears to be a gentrified Mexican restaurant. The price-to-portion ratio is disproportionately high. Furthermore, I felt misled when I was told the torta was half off due to it being Thursday. However, when I reached the checkout, it was full price. When I brought this up to the cashier, she claimed the promotion was only valid for dine-in, even though I had specified takeout, given the late hour on a weekday. I agreed to dine in to get the discount, but the cashier responded with annoyance, making comments about me making the staff work harder. This added to the overall negative experience. There are dozens of authentic Mexican restaurants with reasonable prices, clean environment, and most of all warm, inviting, and friendly staff a few miles in any direction.

I visited Houston for almost a week, and the person I was with LOVES Tacos and wanted some for Taco Tuesday. We Googled and found this place in Downtown Houston, which had AMAZING REVIEWS. WE SEE WHY!!! The food here is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! So much so, that we had to run that back one more time before we left town (This is the only restaurant we visited twice while we were there, by the way). The first time we went, I got the Asada and birria street tacos, with some fixins. They tasted great, but be mindful that the birria broth was super spicy (the kind of spice that sneaks up on you), so make sure you can handle the spice if you order it. I didn't use it because they tasted fine without it. The REAL TREAT, however, was the CHICKEN. My friend got the Chicken tacos and let me taste one... and bay-bee when I say I was sad that I didn't choose the chicken first... I was dismayed! So when we went back on our last night in town, I got the chicken gringo Tacos, and they did not disappoint! The line was long the second time we came and it moved kinda slowly (but not too slowly), but that was because they are cooking everything FRESH. They are grilling chicken, chopping it, and then placing it on the line. We can SEE them toasting the tortillas before putting them on the plates, etc. Also, the workers were really friendly! In short... if you need a sign to go visit this taco joint, THIS IS IT!!! They were amazing, and the whole restaurant was real chill and laid back. I loved it.

Food is great but quite pricey in my opinion. $17 for an average size torta is just too much for me. Nonetheless everyone was friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating available and a cool looking place. Of course parking is tricky since it's downtown unless you pay or are able to find street parking.

I got three Street tacos and the elote. Food is excellent. Very spicy, which I love. My only gripe is the portion size for the price. I probably won't intentionally return here for that reason, but they do have great food and wonderful service. 👍

La Calle is a DT HOU fave of mine. The street style tacos and drinks are always on point. I never even remember what I order bc I always scarf it down so fast! Don't miss their micheladas either!

Tacos are ok, shrimp ceviche was really good actually. Be careful with the salsas, they can be really hot. The street corn was a great option although a little overpriced. Cantina next door is a great place to have a couple of drinks and tacos. The fact that this establishment closes at 2 am makes it really packed at night

Right in the heart of downtown Houston is this colorful gem with the tastiest and most fresh tacos one can find! We went on a weekday for lunch and enjoyed delectable ceviche and chicken tacos with crispy chips and guacamole and cheesy corn in a cup. Really you cannot go wrong visiting here!

Great location, by downtown. First time here since Im from out of town and I loved it. Love the vibes, how authentic the inside of the restaurant is. The menu was real easy to read and meals to choose from. The tacos were delicious. Staff were nice and friendly when ordering food. Went over to the bar side for a few drinks and had a great service from the bartender named Poncho. Definitely recommend, will return whenever I’m back in town.

Bot sure what the hype is all about for this place the best thing was the 32oz Modello. The food was ok had some flavors that was good but not mouth watering. The elote was alright. The food could have been alot warmer in my opinion which is probably why I didn't enjoy it as much.

Tacos were delicious. The brilla near was chewy but the dip was good. I loved that the manager kept checking in on us.

First, this is the coolest restaurant. The owner was so kind helping us better understand the different types of meat. These were the BEST street tacos I’ve had in forever. I wish we had this place in Colorado!

EXPLOSION 💥 OF FLAVORS!! Wow! Stop here after an Astros game. Had the gringo tacos, you choose your meat and the toppings. I had chicken, carnitas and Birra tacos! Excellent 😋 however I was NOT expecting the consomé to be that spicy 🌶️ 🥵 so if you don’t like spicy foods don’t dip your taco in it. Great service, there was no wait on a Sat night price was $30 for my plate plus a drink. Great atmosphere and great service.

I went to tacos LA CALLE hoping to have a good experience. What a big disappointment the food lousyI ordered a quesabirrias and a different tacos to try What a disappointment, they took the meat for the steamer, nothing related with the tacos in Mexico City, this is a joke. quesabirrias was a hard and meat hard to chew they use a 3,5 inches corn tortilla for averything we order a ALAMBRE also was very bad I didn't know where these people really get the 5 stars review, the food is bad, very bad If you go to the place called LA CALLE and they say they offer a food from mexico city you ere expect to find something really Chilango and delicious, not this type of food iam from mexico city and this food It has no relation to the food of Mexico City..

$27 for 4 tacos & an agua fresca. She forgot to put beans inside my taco so she put it on the side. The beans were burnt; im sure the whole batch was burned but they decided to serve the top of the pot or something, they were gross and to top it off-barely put any meat in my tortilla. Definitely not going back.
