Food was great. Line was long but worth the wait. Price was good. For sure this is the best BBQ in Houston

The line wasn't too bad this afternoon! This is my second time eating here, and I'm completely convinced that this restaurant does not disappoint! 😋I treated my family to the Big J's Potato and OMG, we are satisfied and have some leftovers! They were so delicious filled with love food! I decided to take some pics and show off the love of this restaurant! It's welcoming, clean, and authentic! It's a line, but the music seems to make it go faster. Every customer seems to understand the assignment and respect everyone's space. It smells like the summer cookout in there! The staff is efficient, quick, and very courteous. The best bbq joint I've ever had!

Oh my goodness! The bbq here is a amazing. There is a bit of a line, but it goes by fast and is worth the quick wait. This place was the highlight of my trip to Houston and everything from the brisket, peach cobbler and the ice tea was amazing. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t go.

Flew in town to try this place from MI. Was recommended by quite a few people of being the best BBQ spot that's not chained. I ordered the 2 meat combo dinner with brisket and ribs. They were both amazing and perfectly cooked. The sauce was good but not my favorite. The Mac and cheese had a hint of spice that worked for me, but the BBQ beans were the best I had ever had. The Ribs were cooked perfectly, and the texture was on point! I will definitely fly back to this place in the hood for the BBQ. I was told I should have gotten the loaded potato, but I was full from the heavy portions I ordered for half the day.

My first time here, the line was long but it moves fast A+. The food was fantastic !! I didn't get a chance to try all of the variety of cake desserts nor the peach cobbler but they all looked yummy. Will be returning. Try their Ravens Bowl it's massive, chopped beef on top of fries with cheese.

We were in Houston on vacation looking for a place for BBQ, and I’m so glad we found Triple J’s! Literally the best BBQ I have ever had, and the nicest people serving it up. We showed up right at lunch time so there was a line, but it went quickly. I can imagine this place always has a line as the BBQ was so delicious! Highly recommended the J’s special to get a little bit of everything. Definitely will go back if we are ever in the area again.

Stopped in kinda by accident, but what a treat! Got the “Triple J”- brisket, sausage, 2 ribs. All incredible! Brisket was nice and juicy, excellent flavor. Ribs were very tasty. And the sausage was the best. Friendly and efficient staff, top notch all around and highly suggested.

great food, great service. chicken and sausage was fire. brisket was nice and tender but did lack alittle flavor but that's just my opinion. ribs were just right and just a hint of sweetness. will definitely go back The peach cobbler is KILLER

Long lines but wait is short. Smells good inside. I got the big j burger and I got to say out of all the bbq places I've been, without a doubt the biggest and best testing burger I've had. Boudain was great and flavorful.

WOW!! I was visiting in town with some family, and we made the hour long drive to find this hidden gem! I got the Ravens bowl, which I can't recommend enough. It was the best BBQ I've ever had in my life. I ate on the plate for almost 2 or 3 days for multiple sitting's because of how generous the portions are! My boyfriend got the brisket cuts, and we both got green beans as a side. Shout out to their green beans as their brine they use is a flavor I've been missing my whole life. So delicious with such a fierce but pleasant kick of heat. Everything was most definitely food for my soul, and it was a first experience I will never forget! MIL says the peach cobblers the best! Thank you all so much for the amazing food, jam packed with soul & love you cook for your customers. I will always recommend to anyone around the area or planning to visit. This is not a place you want to miss out on! Best BBQ ever!! Get there early, because they sell fast and once they run out they're done for the day. Can't wait to go back next visit!

So good!! One of the best, hands down. First timers, we waited in line for an hour and it was worth it. We ordered a J's special dinner plate and J's baked potato. Both had three meats (beef, sausage and ribs). They also gave me a peach cobbler! Sides were delicious, potato salad and dirty rice. I don't know how the line is normally but I'd stand in line again. Edited to add more pics: Big J potato and 1/2 chicken dinner

Best part of the Js Special is the sausage. Mac n cheese taste like Kraft blue box Mac n cheese. Ribs wasn't tender. The food is definitely flavorful. Disappointed but I would go back. It's about feeding the masses so there will be some mishaps along the way. Good customer service

I rate a restaurant on 3 fundamental points Customer Service, The Food, and the price. The service sucks, being that I stood on line for nearly an hour on Saturday afternoon. It was my first visit. I tried calling the restaurant to place my order to go while on line, but was told they don't take phone orders. I ordered the 3 meat plate ribs, brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad. It was about $20 dollars which I found reasonable. The food was not exceptional in fact it was below average. When I consider the amount of time I stood there waiting to be served I feel ripped off. If the meats wasn't bad enough the sides were disgraceful. The beans were obviously canned and I don't know what that was they gave me but they call it potato salad.. See Photo. It was a watery, gooey disgusting mess and went straight into the trash. I have had better bbq in a TV dinner. So, I won't be back here...y'all can keep this mess for those that don't know better.

The smoke and flavor and the sauce are fantastic. The ribs are outstanding!!! The brisket today had great smoke flavor but was just a tad tough. Sausage and baked beans both on point as well. The staff was super friendly. If in the area I would happily return.

I got the 2 meat dinner with potato salad and seasoned green beans and my love got the J’s special dinner. When l tell you the food was good and they give you a lot! Omg the green beans were AMAZING! We also got berry pineapple lemonade and peach cobbler, the drink was GREAT but the cobbler was too sweet for my liking. I can honestly say since moving to Houston this has been the best bbq and the customer service is 💯. We will definitely be back!! Soon!

Triple J's has great food, and memorabilia to look at while your in line. They need a better set up for ordering. A drive up window would be great. The prices online need to be updated, they were about $2.00 higher each item inside on the board. The line was long, but fast. I've always come here for my bbq in Houston

Be prepared to wait in line. I waited in line for 15 minutes which wasn’t too bad. The place is small and crammed. There is very limited seating so if you’re looking to dine in get there early or eat in your car. Overall the food was good. I got the triple j baked potato and Mac and cheese. The brisket was nice and juicy and the sausage was just as good. As far as the mac and cheese it’s a pass in my book. Tasted like basic Mac and cheese with lots of black pepper. I was definitely expecting more from it.

We had Triple J's for lunch at work 2 weeks ago, I've been wanting another chopped beef sandwich & my coworker has been wanting some boudin. So yesterday, I went up there being greedy and got the Big J's Baked Potato. There was a line but it was moving, I love the pictures & the music was nice. It was definitely worth it cause I ate every bit😊

Good BBQ! Had the chicken and beef sausage. The peach cobbler 🍑 was homemade and took care of my sweet tooth. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Houston!

The line was LONG as expected, but we only waited 30 minutes. We got the Ravens bowl, ( which was AWESOME) half chicken ( GOOD) Js special comes with brisket, sausage, ribs ( Brisket was a little dry, didnt like the sausage, the ribs was good) mac&cheese ( basic mac &cheese ) potato salad ( didn't like the mustard taste) and the peach cobbler ( OMG, DELICIOUS😋) Great customer service!!We will be back soon!!!

Excellent pork ribs. Subtle sweetness, perfectly cooked. Sausage and beef links very good, with a snappy texture. Boudin great smokey flavor. Brisket, was just good. Pie spiced peach cobbler is really good. For the money, Triple J's is excellent East Texas bbq.

Extremely long line but it went fast. This was my first visit so I ordered 3 meats, the brisket was perfect very tender and juicy and for the ribs… I’ve had better, the skin was a bit touch but had good taste and the sausage was okay. As for the sides Mac n cheese was bland and the green beans good. But the homemade fruit punch was delicious but not sure if it was worth the price.

Chopped beef potato was delicious. Peach cobbler was good too. Butttttt the brisket lacked the smoky flavor and seemed boiled. Ribs and sausages were ok. Happy hour boudin was good too

Some of the best barbeque you'll ever eat is right here! It's a small space, long lines ( goes by quickly) but the food is worth the wait! I had the triple J's special which is 3 meats and 2 sides. The meats and food is packed with finger licking flavors of deliciousness!! The portions are hefty!

The first time we ever tried Triple J's was at their rodeo booth. Every year since then we've gone back to their booth. The BBQ is perfection. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are competitive and legit good for the amount and quality of food you are given. My husband and I decided we needed to find their place so we made the trip out there today...the line was out the door...which tells you how good they are. But it took us maybe 10 minutes in line before we ordered and were given our food! While we were waiting in line, an employee approached us and greeted us while asking if it was our first time there. He joked with us and our boys and got us even more excited about the food. It didn't disappoint! Thanks Triple J's for an overall excellent experience. Keep up the good work! BTW...we ordered the Triple J baked potato with beef on top...the BEST!

Me and my family tried Triple Js Smokehouse Bbq bc of high reviews. We stood in an hour long line that comes along with fantastic bbq. The line does move fast tho. All I can say is WOW!! Ribs are fall off the bone, brisket smoke taste goes on for days. ( they do have a sign saying to please check your order bf leaving, I didn’t, that being said they forgot bbq sauce turns out didnt need it anyway, not mad at them) OMG Best ribs I’ve ever had! I’ve been to Killens, been to Truth and many others. Just WOW! Even the sides are so good. Peach cobbler homemade and so good. Sides are delicious. Potato salad is southern and on point Limited dining space. Who cares. Take it home it’s perfect. Prices are on point with good bbq that requires standing in line for. Dang!!!!! Will be taking everyone I know!

As always... Food is fresh, delicious and a lot of food for the price. Establishment is very clean, COVID precautions in place, awesome music & vibes. Great service, great value and SO glad they are still here serving us with excellence!

You will not be disappointed. Only downfall is the long line. But it moves surprisingly fast. But it's worth the wait. I've been in love with Triple J's since they were in a small building on Lockwood. Although the price has gone up. The quality or quantity of food you get WILL NOT disappoint you.

This is great BBQ every time I have been. While I wouldn't call it classic Texas BBQ it is outstanding BBQ and more along the lines of the best backyard or community style BBQ one could ask for. The flavors are great on all their meats and the sides are on point. I occasionally like a little sauce to break from the norm and their sauce is amongst my favorites across the country. This place is truly a hidden gem and the locals are blessed to have such a great place to get great BBQ.

  • 4/5 J. W. 2 years ago on Google
My first taste of Texas BBQ and I can say I wasn’t disappointed. Of course, I am slightly biased because I’m from NC but that lil Jay was soooo good and filling if I might add. My mom ordered something different but one thing I do remember her saying was those greens was amazing. I would definitely return here, it gives me a vibe I haven’t had in a while. Something very comforting.
