The amount of space in the suite was great, and the bathtub was big enough for my tall self to lay down in. Huge plus. The decor is definitely dated. There was damage to the carpet, lampshade, and vanity stool. But it was clean and I'm not that picky. The front desk staff was phenomenal. The bar waitresses, however, never brought me a drink. I don't know what was up, maybe I'm just a very forgettable face, but I tried politely ordering 3 times in the 3 hours I was sitting at the slots and no one ever brought me back anything. And I didn't flag them down, they came to me to ask if I wanted anything and I said yes. I could've gone to the bar if I really wanted a drink, it was just a bizarre experience and made the gambling 100% not worth it.❤️

I have been reading all the reviews about this hotel. They are 99% horrible. This saddens me alot. You see, I worked at this hotel back in the 80s. At that time this was a 400 room Ramada. It was privately owned by a Mr MacGregor. The building which is now Hotel Romana was my building when I started working there. I was a housekeeping supervisor. The rest of the hotel stretched down the parking lot and there were room by the pool, which isn't the one currently there. It was a beautiful property and we took pride in the cleanliness of the entire property. The general manager lived on the property in room facing the pool. It was more like a small apartment. There was also an assistant manager. The director and assistant director of housekeeping, and 4 housekeeping supervisors to oversee 400 rooms.we constantly had room inspections with the owner, hotel managers and the director of housekeeping. I eventually became assistant director of housekeeping. It saddens me to see what has happened to a once beautiful property. Over the years it has slowly declined to what it is now. I left there years ago and have watched it slowly end up like this. THE owner who I worked for would surely be turning over in his grave if he saw what his once beautiful hotel has become. I'm so sad to see that this is what once my building to take care of and keep clean. I did such a good job, I was awarded employe of the month. I can only hope that owners and managers of this property will take heed of all the complaints and do something to clean this once beautiful building back to what it once was. Your guests deserve it.

First of all poor customer, overcharged us when we got there, the rate that was displayed online even after we paid online. They even double charged us without refunding that and did not refund the deposit. The rooms were not supplied with basic necessities that are offered at other hotel. There were roaches everywhere, blood on the toilet, hair on the blow drier and they left the previous renters washcloths in the tub. The beds were very uncomfortable. They got almost 200 dollars from us just for one night and it was the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

Very Very nasty!! Roaches everywhere and old urine, no cups, no coffee, no microwave, no fridge. Stains all over bedding and sheets. No toiletries. Not even a trash can or trash bag. $40.00 deposited for what???? This is the nastiest place I’ve ever seen and smelly and doesn’t look anything like the picture. Pool is nasty green slime and has not been in used and is closed for good. It should have been demolished about 20 years ago. This is false advertisement all the way around. It’s a nightmare and you will not get your deposit back. There is always homeless looking people hanging outside the front entrance and management will not help in ANY way. Vending machines don’t even work. Don’t stay here. They need to be closed down by the public health department. Roaches everywhere!! Never want to go back to Houston because of this nasty dump of infestation

The bed was decent. Clean sheets and bedding. Cigarette burns in the sheets but clean nonetheless. ⚠️**TRIGGER WARNING**⚠️ this place is absolutely infested with cockroaches. It's a big problem and health hazard. Don't bring anything in here. Leave your bags in your vehicle. Don't bring any food into your room. Throw your trash outside of your room if it has food scraps. There are roaches living in the furniture and bathrooms. If you must stay here, buy some roach traps to keep them away from your stuff. It's not a bad hotel if they get rid of the infestation.

If you are looking for a 5 star this is not the place. But if you are looking for a cheap stay and a bed to sleep in this is not to bad. I read all the reviews, and i will confirm some stuff. The carpet does have stains, the smell wasnt that bad(we bought lysol). We did have to buy sheets because ours had hair on it. The facility was not dirty. The lady at the front was very sweet. The hallways and front area was hot but the room stayed cool. The balcony was nice. No amenities are offered but if you are just staying the night not bad at all. We immediately got our deposit back. If you are looking for somewhere to eat bombshell was good which is right on the other side of free way.

We stay in the hotel now with Insects and cockroaches when I inform th night manager he siad this normal in our hotel we are 2* They set a trap for the person, letting him book for a good price, but when you will book they will tell you that we will not return your fees to you only. You have accept our cockroach

The room was decent for the price. But the hallways smelled like cigarette smoke and weed! Trash everywhere outside and the building needs lots of repairs. Bring your own towels. I found a hair and what looked like a blood stain in one towel. So we didn't take a shower. You can't request for new towels whenever housekeeping is not there! Lots of other things as well that were off-putting. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else!

Very dirty place. The hallways doesn't look like no one cleans them at all. I moved rooms 3 time and then gave up and went and got cleaning supplies and bug spray. The guy at the desk was nice but clueless and very slow. I might as well paid $100 for a room because I paid the difference on cleaning supplies. Also I don't think the room is up to code. One of the lamps was very poorly repaired on its cord and still had wire exposure. I'm steadily having to get up to kill bugs. Find somewhere else to go. Your not going to save money here if you worry abut germs like me.

They kept my deposit twice for damage that I did not make and they wanted to say I left the thing in the room which is the desktop computer, I left it there for free but no they want to keep the deposit. "We did not leave anything like that when you check in and you left it when you check out so that's the reason why you don't get the deposit." I find it as a very excuse! I always book the room there all the time until recently, they kept two deposits. This is my last time that I will show my face there. Bad SERVICE! When I came with my stuff in the wagon and the front desk wanted to say no it's too much! The heck he thinks because I already paid for the room so what is the room for?!?! Jesus freaking Christ!

I staying in sheepies hotel sometime for traveling both this is 1 of most difficult hotels I purchase my lodging for a week online and there were supposed to be microwaves included To be able to heat food and they never took it to me that they took it out of my room To cover another, I found cockroaches The lights in the room were not Serbian in the early morning children running in the wee hours of the At night and early in the morning, I asked them for a cockroach To sweeten the coffee, they didn't have it To leave the hotel driving since it is on the freeway, it would be a problem To leave if they enabled another exit, it would be Well, there is a danger because the car goes at More than 60 mph

We stayed here recently. They have done a lot of renovations. The rooms that my family and I stayed in were really nice. The hotel was extremely clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating The pool was getting cleaned our last day. I didn't see any roaches or rodents. I didn't smell any smoke or anything. The hotel is in an excellent location. We will be staying here again.

15 minutes…. If you wait past 15 minutes then you can’t swap the room. I learned the hard way and got a room #320. The bed smelled like old people urine. I got no refund. Bbb My cousin told me that he doesn’t sleep in 2.0 rated hotels. I was hoping that I wouldn’t be faced yet again With a dirty room. And I asked the person suffering mild retardation behind the counter if the room was dirty. Well this is my second time getting a dirty room. This should be a warning to someone who can afford a room that’s 20 more dollars. They may have to clean the rooms or have more upset people possibly write bad reviews like I’m doing right now.

I went to this hotel took a long time to check in. The front desk clerk was lit as hell. They charged me three times for one night. And I told him about the charges they only said one night. But I show them my statement my bank statement it showed three times. The manager was okay but their system is very slow wish they updated. They also need better cable channels this will be a great hotel if it was up to date.

Dirty from the lobby to the roof! Roaches crawling everywhere,bed bug infestation,moths,blood stains and melted wax on the carpet...and if that wasn't bad enough they don't do refunds...spend the extra ten dollars and get a better hotel...all these good reviews are either family or dirty people who like roaches crawling on them while they sleep.

Discussed, please don't go there. Look somewhere else. These reviews are telling you the true. Elevators don't work . You have to walk up stairs to get there. The front is hot, no AC. I told them i wanted to cancel. They ok me to cancel and I called Expedia they called to verify the situation and got me another room to another place. The outside look of this building is terrible.

fraud house cockroach hotel. they stole my card info!!! next day it was 1500$ charge on my credit card that i declined and closed the card. they say 50$ deposit but they charge you the total amount and never send the deposit back to your account. thats why its cheap. they actually steal money from people.i had to call the bank to disputethe transaction as well. if you wanna deal with the hassel of closing your card and being defrauded then book here. aside from roaches crawling on you at the middle of the night

I have a family vacation every year, this hotel is very very poor of everything, bad smell, air conditioning has cooling air only, even we requested to change to another room because the air conditioning, but room is same as the other. no exalt fan in bath room, a x-small shampoo tube, and hard time to ask for other tube for next day. Marijuana smell all over and heavy smell in the elevator. I promise to myself and my family member that I will never book this hotel again.

Very bad infestation of roaches 👎 so have an expectation that they will be everywhere. Carpets are filthy, outdated fixtures/furniture, soiled/stained linen, broken closets, and this place is poorly managed. No wash clothes were in my room. I asked the clerk for towels for us to take a shower and was told that I would have to talk to the house keeper in the morning. They have signs up at the elevator and at the front desk saying not to ask for towels.... However, I could understand this if I was asking for extra linen. That was not the case... I also asked for a single light bulb; there wasn't a single bulb in the room and the one that was in the lamp was blowed. Went to ask the clerk for a light bulb and was told "I'm not going to piece the room together, I can move you to another room". Just a nasty attitude l around. We booked the room for 4 days and had carried a lot of luggage up, including several boxes of equipment, and after driving 12 hours, we just wanted to shower and go to bed. So, besides the light from the TV and bathroom, we are in the dark and without a towel to take a shower; this was already going downhill. I get it, it's not the clerks fault... however, don't talk to people like they are a POS... and keep a few extra towels just in case the housekeeper forgets.This is ridiculous and I am in disbelief that no towels are in my room. I toured each floor and the carpeting is filthy and at the elevator entrance on each floor, they have large trash bins that are overflowing. Smh...Dated shower heads and blow dryers. If you are expecting an iron to be in your room; you can forget that one too. Caked up dirt on the ceiling fans... just way to much to even continue. Not to mention, a roach was on me while I was in bed. This is ridiculous and This place is in very, very, bad condition. 👎 BTY.... I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and IF I GET 1 FRAUDULENT CHARGE ON MY CARD... I am attorney ready.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been. It’s searmed with roaches, enormous bugs. Better go yo a Motel 6 nearby. There is a reason for their cheap price. Anyway, their people were helpful, and I appreciiated that.

DON'T EVER NEVER EVER EVER go to this place. Roaches, plaster coming off the ceiling, and did I neglect to mention blood stains in the carpet? Do not book on line, as I did. When my wife and I saw the room, we left immediately. The manager had the audacity to tell me online bookings are non refundable. WRONG ANSWER!

Had to stay here for a night and the room smelt like urine and I noticed 3 bugs right when I walked in. Did not feel comfortable at all, slept Over the covers, sheets/towels had stains on them. Wouldn’t recommend.

Alex showed me the Grace of Allah. Praise be. I prayed for a place to stay and had the wrong date booked. He helped me and my Dharma Brother clear up the situation so that I'd be able to sleep in a surprisingly clean, comfortable room. By the will of Allah, may all devotees of Love and Peace be taken care of and loved.

This place is horrible!!!!!!! very rude front desk service. Hang up the phone on me multiple times. Actually told me his manager was on the gold course when I asked to speak to them. I am livid!!! how can such a place even run unless it's a front for something else. This is not a way to do business. Unbelievable. They should be reported to the health department for cleanliness and hell even the Better Business Bureau for the way they treat customers.

Nastiest room I have ever slept in. Burnt holes in sheets that hadn’t been washed in weeks. Hairs under the covers. No hand soap, no trashcan, and smushed bugs on the walls. Towel stains were a variety of unpleasant colors. Probably woke up with a second hand high. Killed a roach in the morning. Solid water pressure though. Probably should’ve gotten the hint when we walked in to the front desk hidden behind glass. 1/10 I’m glad we survived

Infestation of roaches, heavily soiled carpeting throughout the entire building. Filthy linen (if it's provided). Trash on each floor. Missing light bulbs, dirty air vents and just needs to be shut down.
