In retaliation for a much deserved negative review but one that graciosly praised everyone except the offending party, The very next day, their response to my review wasn’t to take that as a “coach able moment”…. It was to sell me another coffee & then call building security to escort me out of the building. Not only that but I recorded the building manager telling me the reason is because “I’m a non-customer & not visiting anyone in the building”. Both statements are lies & misrepresentations of fact. Fortunately, the courts & court of public opinion isn’t so easily dipped! The guy escorting me wasn’t even security, he is a maintenance guy. On top of everything, the building manager lady kept forcing herself into my space as some sort of bully tactic for me to move & still uttered the classic dog whistle statement levied toward intelligent black men: “Sir, I’m feeling very THREATENED by you”! Really? I mean, Really? Yeah, she went there. Needless to say, the owners I praised yesterday aren’t who I thought they were. Then again, if you attempt raised having good ole’ fashioned American Values like: Humility, fairness, liberty or justice… It’s pretty predictable as to what the results will be. In any case, this is going to be quite expensive for both parties. We have to start voting with our dollars. Supporting business that don’t respect nor actually care about there customers, should be over!

TIP: Enter 1401 McKinney Street Say hi to security professional Eva Take the elevators to floor three (balcony above) Then turn right out of the elevator hallway. REVIEW: Super friendly service and very awsome lattes and flat whites served in fancy porcelain "Fellow" brand cups ("for here" orders only).

Went there today for some coffee and had a great experience. In town for a conference and was happy to go to a local coffee shop. The barista was so nice and helped us order. Friendly staff :). They're on the 3rd floor if the building, in the "lobby." Go check out their Cinnamon toast crunch latte :).

This place has it all: knowledgeable baristas, friendly service, and most importantly…great coffee! I just love the ambiance here to get work done, take a short break, or just enjoy the view of the comforting and modern decor.

Staff is awesome! These guys are true Barista's, they really know their stuff. Took time to offer me samples and explain about how it was roasted and even where it came from in Panama. The flavor is so good, not bitter or over-powering like some coffee chain's can be! I'm going to be a loyal customer!

This is one of the best coffee shops in Houston, cozy and modern style with great coffee. They make high quality pour over coffee. I tried their pastries and yogurt granola mix.

Great coffee, location, and food! I came across Common Grounds while searching for a cafe to work at while in downtown Houston and I have to say I was impressed! The coffee, cleanliness, branding, and lovely baristas and staff make me wish I worked in the vicinity. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the area.

Had a flat white, but it didn't taste as good as what I normally have. It seems difficult to get great tasting coffee in many cafes. On the plus side, the Cafe is in the building lobby, 3rd floor, which is a nice place to sit and enjoy a break, it's very clean and provides a pleasant experience. Thank you.

This coffee shop is fantastic!!! The staff takes pride in what they do and the coffee was delightful! I went there for 8 days in a row while in Houston for business, and I can't wait to go back next year. Thank you C, L, S and E for great espresso and smiles every day!

Lydia was a pleasure to order from. She had a warm welcome and maintained professionalism. As a first time customer I enjoyed the customer service, atmosphere, along with my Mocha Latte, and Nutella sandwich

Very good coffee in a difficult-to-find little kiosk. 3rd floor of an office bldg with no signs at street level or in lobby. Seems intended for office tenants; no neighborhood vibe. Which is a shame, because, as I mentioned, they make very good coffee.

The best coffee in the area is hiding upstairs in the Five Houston Center tower. Excellent coffee, great service, and a fun quiet vibe make this a perfect spot for a pick-me-up or a sit-down-and-visit. A skywalk connects to the Highlight shopping center, so it's easy to get to even if you don't work in the building. We'll be coming back again.

The first place I found in the USA who would do a latte properly! By this point, I was in the habit of describing it, and when I did, the lovely lady serving me just said "You mean a latte?" and I was like "YES - FINALLY!" On top of that it's a beautiful space to enjoy, and cheaper than Starbucks despite being twice as good. I recommend this place if you're in downtown Houston, nay, Houston, nay, Texas, nay, North America.

I was in Houston during the FIRST Robotics event in April and I came here two days in a row since the lavender latte was so delicious! I haven’t found any other lavender latte that’s as delicious as the one from here. I greatly recommend this place :)

It took a couple of walking-around the block to find it, inside the 5 Houston center. But what a gem to be found. The almond milk latte was delicious (no soy milk option). Scone was lovely toasted. Americano smells good in my travel mug.

fantastic cappuccino! one of the best! on the 3rd floor of the office building. sitting area is nice, spacious and modern - not cozy but it’s great nonetheless!

This coffee shop is exactly what downtown Houston needed! I’ve had to make pour overs and lattes at home before heading in to work, and prior to this, if I didn’t have time, I would not be drinking coffee that morning because I refuse to go to a chain. The coffee is roasted in EaDo weekly, and is really good. Also it’s fun to watch the pour-over machine do its thing lol

Super nice and beautiful place!! The barista was so nice and even remade my drink because I forgot to mention I wanted it iced. The facility was so clean and welcoming and the drink was delicious! I got the honey latte!

This delightful coffee shop has stellar coffees and super friendly service. We happened in one afternoon and discovered a welcoming spot with really great java. Honestly, it is some of the best coffee I've had in Houston . The staff was accommodating and made sure we had a comfortable place to sit despite the other tables being occupied. Strongly recommend!
