I went with friends to see the Monarch Chamber Music production. The Czech Museum is a very elegant venue. The Museum had free Danish, and you could purchase wine, soft drinks, and water. There were small tables and chairs, plus tall bar tables. The museum was available for viewing, and there was a gift shop. The event was held upstairs, and they had an elevator available, too. The event was held in a large room with nice folding chairs. Many art pieces were displayed in the room. The production included 3 musicians(piano, violin, and clarinet) performing Czech composers and other composers. The group performed some very interesting pieces and was enjoyable. The museum personnel stated that more events would be held in the future. The event was free, but donations were accepted.

No amount of photography can justify how beautiful the collection is. There is culturally significant artwork, handiwork, innovative crystal and marble glass art, other pottery art, antique toys, books, figurines/dolls, traditional clothing, and history regarding persecution and ethnic cleansing of Czech and Slavic people. Three story museum filled with Czech culture from top to bottom. I loved the pride. Reading about early Czech-Americans' (and Texans) success stories after fleeing their homelands was very inspiring. My photos aren't good but I hope it helps give an idea. This is a very well-organized, respectable museum worth the trip! • They have the BEST museum gift shop of all the Houston museums. • It is wheelchair accessible, elevators indoors, and free museum parking on property.

I have been looking at a lot of venues. This was definitely a hidden gem in the museum district. The staff was super super friendly. The place is beautiful. So it’s a museum but they have a beautiful ballroom upstairs that they rent for weddings. The only issue would be the parking if you plan on having a large wedding, I didn’t have a chance to discuss pricing because the coordinator was on vacation but from speaking to the young lady it seems very reasonable in price.

You need to ring the doorbell at the front entrance in order to enter. Very affordable, only $6 per adult and $3 per child. The tour guide explained everything to us. It only took an hour. The displays are beautiful! They include hand cut glass, pressed glass, jewelry, ceramics, embroidery, and artwork.

Gorgeous venue. The staff are really helpful and know a lot about the history of the place, Czech history and art, and the history of the surrounding area. Make sure to follow their events newsletter. Also make sure to check out their top floor for more art.

Great history of the Czech culture. The workers were super nice and the building is beautiful inside. Will be back to explore again.

Great cultural museum and very friendly staff. Current exhibit on lace will be fascinating to anyone who crochets or does tatting. Not a huge museum, but covers a lot of history, especially of Czechs in Texas and of Terezín. Very affordable admission. Oh and they have Czech candies in the gift shop!

I've been meaning to go to this museum for a while! The staff are so friendly and the tour was great! I got to learn a lot about Texan Czech history as well as Czech history! The tour was wonderful and informative, and the museum has the largest collection in the US of Czech glassware, which is so beautifully made. The tour was $12 for two people, and it was totally worth it! It's very close to other museums in the museum district, and it's a gem in Houston's Museum Scene

intreaguing material, especially the traditional outfits i found pleasant. however ones a bit inaccurate, there wasnt much communism in soviet times as the exhibits say as thatd be moneyless and stateless, sadly it turned into a puppet state dictatorship in czechia that didnt have much to do with leftism and its ideals.

It is a nice small museum and they hold fun events. I went to a festival they had kolache, czech beer, and some grill items. They had live music, a kolache eating competition, and bingo - it was great.

I attended an event at this facility and while the facility itself is fine (building and museum), my experience with its parking situation was not good. The building is located in Midtown, which is spotty when it comes to crime and property damage. Because of this, no doubt, the facility has a fence around its entire parking lot and a gated entrance and exit. Upon exiting the parking lot, you are confronted with a very poorly designed and frankly dangerous gate which opens INWARD, and unless you know this already it comes as a big unwelcome surprise, as there is very little signage warning you of this in advance. Unfortunately, the gate banged into my vehicle since I did not have enough time to back out of the way once I realized what was happening, and a large scratch was left on my front bumper. Either the gate needs to be fixed such that it does not hit vehicles, or patrons need to be warned when they visit the museum so that this does not happen to others. This made an otherwise nice afternoon into a definitely less pleasant experience.

I was present for an event, so there wasn't a typical showing of the displays, but it is very clear that the staff is passionate about the showing and preservation of Czech history. If you are looking to rent a space for an event, such as a wedding, it is a fantastic place to do so. It is very visually appealing space and there is extra parking for larger events hosting 60+ people. Highly recommend.

Really great little museum showing the history of the Czech people and specifically those affected in WWII. The young lady that was there was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

It is a beautiful facility filled with treasures and the stories of their historical significance! It is a place to have fun, enjoy stimulating conversations with interesting people, and to enjoy incredible music. It has a lovely giftshop as well!

Beautiful space celebrating a rich cultural heritage. Located near the historic 3rd ward area, they also show support with a section of art and writings celebrating diversity and equality. I highly recommend a visit and to check the calendar for various events open to the community.
