My
fiancé
and
I
have
a
thing
for
speakeasies.
And
this
one
is
truly
a
gem!
We
arrived
here
around
8:45pm
on
a
Saturday
night.
Although
there
was
unfortunately
a
wait,
the
host
kindly
took
down
our
info
and
said
he
would
send
a
text
message
when
a
spot
for
us
was
ready.
We
were
able
to
conveniently
get
a
drink
downstairs
at
Pastry
War,
and
our
wait
time
ended
up
being
only
30
minutes!
We
wondered
if
the
home
Astros
game
going
on
at
this
time
had
anything
to
do
with
our
wait
time
being
shorter?!
I
can
imagine
wait
times
get
longer
as
the
night
gets
later.
Non-weekend-nights
may
be
ideal
if
trying
to
avoid
a
wait.
So
on
our
way
back
to
the
"secret"
door
(in
the
back
of
Pastry
War,
only
has
a
symbol
on
it)
and
up
the
dimly
lit
staircase
we
went!
We
got
sat
right
at
the
bar,
which
we
LOVED
as
we
were
able
to
interact
with
the
mixology
bartenders
and
watch
them
make
the
cocktails!
Ambience
-
perfect
date
night
spot
or
place
to
come
with
a
friend
or
business
partner!
I
don't
know
if
I
would
necessarily
advise
coming
here
with
more
than
2
people
because:
1)
I
would
imagine
the
wait
time
would
be
longer
2)
it
is
a
more
intimate
setting
(only
30
seats
total!).
There
were
only
a
couple
tables
that
could
accommodate
more
than
2
people.
It
felt
like
we
were
sitting
in
a
cozy,
yet
sizable,
classy
living
room.
The
dim
lighting
is
on
point,
perfect
for
that
speakeasy
vibe.
The
volume
on
the
louder
side,
but
we
didn't
have
any
difficulties
hearing
each
other
-
no
shouting
necessary!
Service
-
FIVE
STARS!
Hot
towel
service
to
start?!
Yasss!
Our
bartender
was
so
friendly,
positive,
and
dedicated
to
the
craft
of
mixology.
You
could
tell
she
enjoyed
it
and
was
knowledgeable.
She
even
replaced
my
fiancé's
original
sazerac
glass
that
became
room
temperature
with
a
chilled
one!
My
fiancé
and
I
looked
at
each
other
and
both
said
at
the
same
time:
now
THAT's
service!
Cocktails
-
classic
options
all
priced
at
$14
(you
are
paying
for
mixology
+
the
experience
honestly).
Local
brewery
beer
options
for
$7.
Wine
options
(only
~3)
for
$14
a
pour
(little
steep
in
my
opinion).
My
fiancé
and
I
got
the
French
75
and
the
Sazerac
to
start
-
classic
deliciousness.
We
then
shared
a
3rd
and
final
cocktail
-
also
delish!
Side
note:
you
get
complimentary,
yummy
little
bar
snack
munchies.
Parking:
downtown
street
or
garage
parking.
No
lot
directly
connected
unfortunately.
