DO NOT GO to this location emergency room. You can easily wait 7 hours , I understand how busy an ER can be but communication is a free service patients should received. I took my son and had to wait from 3PM to 5AM , The worst ER I have ever visited in America. As suggestion you can provide ETA to new comers to let them decide if they want to wait or not. IT is not professional to have patients wait for many hours knowing you will not be able to serve them. You can redirect them to others campus from the same hospital if you are profit driven.

Nice and friendly staff! Visited here for child’s vaccination. The procedures laid out at the vaccination center were simple and easy to follow. The hospital is kept very neat and clean. Pre-check in is recommended, which saves lot of time in the hospital (especially your child need not wait for the paperwork you can easily do online at home). With some questions, you are all set and get vaccinated…! Once the vaccination is done, the waiting area has a nice Disney-Texas Pediatrics bright red theme background and nice balloons, loved by the children. The overall ambiance is also nice. Nice fountains, gardens, Christmas tree, flowers. And also the giant letters of TEXAS CHILDREN PEDIATRICS … A lot of focus is kept on making as less cumbersome as possible for the kids which is a very good thing! Overall nice experience, well done!

Took my 4 year old daughter in per instructions of our pediatrician she stated since it was my daughter's vision we would be rushed in, well I arrived at 2:30pm and did not get in until 12:30 am. Other people such as a doctor that arrived with his daughter were seen first he did this on purpose he made sure to wear his scrubs with his doctor tag he was seen within an hour of arriving. My daughters eye is completely sealed shut from a horrible staph infection. But this hospital is not good. Children were coughing in the air no one was wearing a mask. Their was an incident where a 17 year old kid was refusing treatment and all the security rushed into the lobby scaring alot of the families. If you know that the weekends will be full capacity then why not have a full staff. Literally only 4 rooms open. The doctor that treated my daughter was clearly overwhelmed. Do better Texas Children's as your here to treat Children. And no I don't want an automated response about how patient care is first priority because that clearly is not true based on all the negative reviews.

Very inefficient ER. We called at 10pm prior to come. They said we need to come now, it is an emergency. We arrived and had to wait several hours before being seen, they told us we were not a strong emergency. What is the propose to wait 5-6 hours if not urgent ? Can a screening not be done and if not critical ask patient to return home, watch and go the next day to see the regular pedestrian ? They prefer to keep patients for ages ! It is en efficient !! On top of that there is a lot of nurses but only to MD at night.. it gives the feeling they just want you to stay, wait and pay while they know most of the patient are not in an emergency condition. Hospital should improve its efficiency, not only wait for money but regulate their patients in function of the care condition.

It's been 9 hours a I write this review that my grandson has been waiting to be treated. Followed proper medical protocol by trying to receive treatment at urgent care; however, given his condition he was sent directly to the ER with an expected 48 hour minimum admission to treat his condition. He can't stand/walk and the rude, unprofessional triage nurse was trying to force him to stand although he's in severe pain. According to her taking his weight is mandatory even though it was on the paperwork from urgent care, none of which did she bother to read. Outside of my grandson there are dozens of patients waiting; some are even outside in the night air waiting to be seen. Parents with ill children that have been waiting for over 10 hours are being bumped down because of more severe cases. How does one tell a concerned parent that other children are a priority over theirs? We've been informed there's only 1 MD and 1 NP on duty; how does this happen; how is it acceptable? Quality patient care is NOT a top priority. Surely an admin should've been notified and on call doctors called in to support the overflowing needs in the emergency room. As the only pediatric hospital in the area TCH would be more organized and attentive to the needs of the community. Very disappointed

Took my son there cos he was having a respiratory distress, the folks in the ER were really professional. They triaged him in a timely fashion, took care of him and discharged us in good time. I was very much impressed. Edit: Also took my daughter there for some diagnostic tests, same level of excellent care received.

Went to the ER with my daughter last night for an abscess. The wait time was extremely long ( we waited over 7 hours just to be seen) but it was also very very busy. Everyone on staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make the wait as bearable as possible. The Dr and nurse we had when we finally got to the back were phenomenal. They took such good care of my daughter and were just a breath of fresh air after a stressful day. Thank you to everyone on staff in the ER last night. Amazing job.

I understand there is other critical patients. I got there around 5:30pm taken into a room at 2:00 am rushed out of the room like in 30 minutes. They did the same thing the provider did just walk here raise your hands do this. Now, they did not do any sort of tests to my son if my ped. told us to go for an ER was for a reason! Please don't do this to patients we don't come to hang out in the lobby to relax. Our children health is a priority to us! Don't play like that with their health.

This place is horrible. Took my son into the ER for severe abdominal pain. Not only was I told he didn’t meet requirements for a scan (but they will do it anyway) I was told there would be up to an 8 hour wait. Even though my son was in a lot of pain and couldn’t even sit still because of the pain. An emergency here is not an emergency. They offered him Tylenol while he waited. Staff are rude and uncaring. You would think for a children’s hospital they would be more warm and friendly especially to the patients. I will never go back. Still haven’t received the ultra sound results which are my to have as they are my sons medical records. If you want quality care DO NOT GO TO THIS ER.

The wait is absolutely ridiculous this should have been a county hospital! My son was taken by ambulance for what they thought was a torn ligament and we sat for 5+ hours with 1 Tylenol. My son is on the e spectrum and suffers from anxiety. He was hurting and tired with no assistance! To me they cared very little because it was his knee and he wasn’t dying. All 4 of my children have been patients at this location for years. The hospital is amazing but the ER is HORRIBLE!!!!

Zero Stars!!!!! First off I understand there are critical cases but it cant be possible that you are left in a waiting room with coughing and sneezing kids all over the place for more than 6 hours. I waited three hours and ither oarents had been there for over five hours in a waiting room and had not been seen. I was concerned we ran the risk of getting covid just by sitting there. Sorry nasty emergency room i dont see myself going back.

the waiting time is a joke. been here for 12 hrs to be seen. nurses just kind of run off to not deal with concerned patients and come back every 2 hrs to say almost your turn for a room and just the same cycle over and over. never have i ever had such a long wait. they really need to get a new system in place to help. regret not reading the reviews before entering this hospital. would never come here again. save your time and go to a better location where they can handle EMERGENCY CONCERNS. shame. wasted half my day here and the staff has no cares. DO BETTER.

Don't waste your time. We waited for 3 hours and never saw a doctor. My daughter cut herself bad and the wound wasn't clotting, the nurse didn't even want to take the bandage off, but after 2 hours I'm told lacerations are low priority and we stay at the bottom of the list. The waiting area was almost empty and the front staff were just joking around. One child, who clearly had a head injury, started throwing up and they didn't bother trying to help. They only pointed to where the barf bags were. NEVER going back.

One star is more on this location service I bring my son 8 pm, he was crying from abdominal pain, and wait in the lobby up to 1 am finally my son got sleep in the chair The stuff is just wasting time, they are just set on the chair and enjoy, they don’t care about patients. Building is not important, treatment and services is important which unfortunately not here Don’t come to this hospital, there is non of them know their job

Absolutely incredible team. Nurse Alyssa was one of the best we have ever had. Everyone was great that we worked with today. Can't believe how great this went and the team that handled our daughter's surgery.

Honestly the worst hospital ever. If you want to get your child seen within a reasonable time & actually be properly assessed and treated by staff who care This is not the place and I recommend going literally ANYWHERE ELSE. The staff were rude & didn’t even try to make my son feel comfortable. I had 4 different people tell me different things about my son and ultimately left being more confused than I was when I walked in. I’m a young mom but that doesn’t excuse the way my family should’ve been treated . We didn’t even get to see a doctor and the people who checked on my baby barely even glanced at him and walked away. my baby was having high fevers and a cough and we have no idea what he has . Front desk staff are so rude and only complain about their work environment , like just leave ! We also had someone check on us asking if we’ve been helped and I told her honestly I don’t even know and that I was ready to go if they didn’t want to help. TCH do better with your hiring , training , & managerial practices .

This ER is horrible. Wait time is so long that during that much time your body will heal on its own. If you have an option, go somewhere else!!!! Personal experience!!! My son 5 months old who feeds through a tube had his last meal at 11 hours back and I kept on begging them to have a nurse put in the NG tube so that at least I can feed my baby but they insisted on seeing a provider regardless. Nurses always put in the tube and do the X-ray to confirm the placement. Provider is not needed anywhere. YOU WANT MONEY JUST ASK FOR IT DON’T THROW PROTOCOLS TO MAKE MONEY!!!!

We rode in on a ambulance and was rushed out just like the ambulance ride. My son was experiencing difficulty breathing and let's just say he left with difficulty breathing. We are now at my favorite hospital Children's Memorial Hermann. We've been admitted here since Thursday it is now Monday. Just showing you how serious it is. My son is only 4 months old.

If I could give zero stars I would. We waited 7 hours just to be given a tylenol tablet. While my 4 month old son has RSV and has NOT eaten almost anything and had only two wet diapers since 12 pm on tuesday. We went in around 7:40 PM on wednesday afternoon and ended up leaving at 2:30 AM WITHOUT seeing the doctor. A consultation came around saying that it is not first come first served basis which I understand there maybe some more important patients but waiting 7 hours is just ridiculous to me especially since they don’t think that not eating or having 3 wet diapers in 24 hours which is a MAJOR concern when a child has RSV.

On July 27th 2023 our son had a high grade fever so we took him to Texas Children's West Campus ER at 5 o'clock in the morning where they started the treatment right away. He was having 102.8 fever. The RN asked all the details and took us to a room and told us to wait for the doctor. The doctor stepped in after 30-40 min, after listening to us carefully she checked our son thoroughly and immediately ordered a couple tests. Unfortunately, we had to get admitted to the hospital because my son was super dehydrated. Throughout our hospital stay the providers were very nice and friendly and made sure to provide all the comfort my son needed in regards to treatment and answered all of our questions. Overall our experience was awesome. Highly recommended.

We took our daughter to ER West Campus based on her pain level and physician recommendation but it was one of the worst experience we had. The wait time was 7+ hours and my daughter was not able to sit and there was nothing to lie down. Whenever we ask the staff how long they weren't able to provide any estimate. There is no food available after 2:30 PM since the small cafeteria they have had closed. All that you have is vending machines with snacks, water etc., The ER doctor spent only few seconds with the patient and left before we could ask any questions. After the procedure was done my daughter said it was the most painful experience she had to go through in her entire life. There were several patient who waited for few hours and left since they had no clue when they will be seen. This facility needs improvement in all areas.

I took my 9 year old here and from check in to the doctor and nurse was a great experience. The nurse Kimberly Willis was phenomenal. Everyone showed a sense of concern and showed that they cared about my son and I’m very appreciative for that. I didn’t feel rushed and they check him out thoroughly. Driving from Spring, TX to Katy, TX was well worth it, I could have went to the Woodlands campus again but I will never based off my experience Sunday morning with the ER doctor and nurse. They can learn from the West Campus. Thanks again!

3 stars only because the speech therapist is good. They do not provide child size masks nowadays and will force your kid to wear the adult size whether it fits or not. My child had his child mask on but we were asked to get rid of it. I have ZERO idea how it is making it safer by replacing a well fitted mask by an ill fitted mask. Edit: Thank you for your response.

I am completely satisfied with our visit. The staff was very friendly, fast and effective. My grandson was in distress and within 10 min of checking in , we were called to the back and they begin to work on him. I don’t remember the nurse, respiratory therapist and doctor names who worked on Friday March 26 around 10pm but they were awesome and didn’t stop until he was breathing better. Thank you so much for being so caring!!!

Like other reviews the wait was very long! We sat in waiting room for 4 1/2 hours. However the staff was very nice and updated me on how long we were looking at each time I asked. We had came from Texas Childrens downtown who told us 5+ hours and were extremely rude! So even though we had to wait here the staff was so nice and accommodating! Once we made it to the room we were seen promptly by a Doctor and admitted! We had to stay in the ER room due to no available rooms but my baby was treated and taken care of very well by the doctors and nurses! I would hands down return to this location over the downtown location any day!

I’ve been waiting for me and my daughter to be seen for 5 hours . We was exposed to covid and had body aches chills and fever . Once they pull us to the back the nurse going to say “well since you was exposed there is no need to test you and Added they do not do covid testing anyways and came back with discharge paper work…. I just feel like that was wrong especially if we was sitting there for 5 hours . Someone could have atleast told us that there was no testing done here I waited 5 hours just for me and my daughter to be seen for only 5 minutes . They get attitudes when you want to know your place in line . I will not be going back .

Amazing experience in the lab with Mrs. Cici, nothing is worse than needing to take your child to a hospital but the care and attention Mrs. Cici and the lab staff give really puts you at ease. I cant thank her enough for the impeccable patient care, dedication to comfort and was just a phenomenal example of relentless service to the patient. Cant thank her enough!! Hopefully the hospital leadership knows what a jewel they have!!

Love TX Children's! My twins have been going there since birth, 6 years now. Many locations, many areas of practice and they've always done great work. From surgeries to routine check ups. This particular hospital treated us very kind and we were in and out. Doctors and staff addressed all our concerns and gave us extra information available on health and Wellness through My Chart. Thank you TX Children's!

From my observations, a lot of parents brought kids in for a VIRUS that could best be treated at HOME. My son was experiencing a different issue. We had 24 patents ahead of us at 11 pm!! Every staff member treated my little boy with the utmost dignity and care with such grace and a little humor at some points. Very organized and informative staff. Keep these folks in our prayers always. They are really heroes.

On Tuesday, my son had to go to Memorial Hermann emergency room here in Katy and they did not identify his issue properly and sent him home with medication that had nothing to do with what was going on with him. He started to feel worse yesterday, and it was swelling up and in a lot of pain so I rushed him over to Texas children West campus were right away they were able to identify what the issue was and get it taken care of quickly. He was able to go home by the end of the day. And he was also feeling much better. All they ended up giving him was some ointment and we were able to go home. He’s resting just a little bit sore but I do have to mention the nurses, doctors and the urology doctors were absolutely amazing and very attentive

Our 5 month old started having episodes of being unable to breathe and turning red due to very thick mucus stuck in his throat. We had 3 very scary episodes at home before coming into the ER. When we got to the ER his vitals were taken and his O2 was 92%. Within 30 minutes of arriving he had 2 more episodes and had to go into the triage room again to have his nose suctioned. He got a chest xray and we were sent back to the waiting room. We ended up sitting in the waiting room from 10pm to 5am during which our son had a total of 8 episodes of 20-30 seconds of not being able to breathe. Each time the nurses just watched us panic trying to help our baby breathe. The nurses even commented that our baby looked pale. At 5am they finally got us in a room and this is when we were given the results of the chest xray and the doctor also ordered an EKG to make sure his heart was okay. I’m not sure why a 5 month old with trouble breathing was serious enough to need an EKG but wasn’t deemed serious enough to get us to see the doctor quicker than 7hrs. Additionally, our discharge paperwork tells us to give honey to our 5 month old which is terrible direction. The discharge nurse also told us to let him sleep overnight in his car seat to help with drainage. It is extremely dangerous to have one of your medical professionals giving such dumb “advice” to new parents.

I was seen on 10/2 and came in around 12:45 on a Monday. It was busy but realized at night it was worse. Our wait time was around 7 hours until we got a room. Then waited about another 45 minutes until we were able to go home. The wait time sucked. But I was grateful to get seen. My son has rsv and he was struggling to breathe. They took all the mucus out and it helped tremendously. Be prepared and bring extra things because the wait time is long. The nurses in the er were great and have out snacks and drinks. Everyone was nice and polite.

This is the THIRD time I come to TCH ER and the THIRD time I leave without speaking to a doctor. Today’s wait time was not the longest, but after 4 hours of waiting to see someone and told “other patients have been waiting for 6 already” when asking for an update, I decided it was time to leave. Their staff are rude, arrogant and lack the basic compassion a human being deserves. It is safe to say I learned my lesson and will not be stepping foot here ever again.

I give 2 stars only because the nursing staff, doctors, and staff are the best in Houston. If I could pack them up and go elsewhere I would! My children have both been patients at the cancer/infusion center for more than 12 years. The employees are excellent, caring and competent. I trust my children are safe here. However, over the years we have seen this center become way over booked. They put the overflow of children in the “main room” when they are out of semi-private chairs. They have young children playing with toys, crying or getting sick running around (as the kids should, they are young and want to play) and then kids like mine who are older, receiving medications that make them drowsy and have to sit through invasive procedures out in the open. My child is slouched on a tiny “love seat” trying to rest while bright lights are on, children are coming and going as well as everything else! My child should have the option of privacy, and a quiet environment to rest while receiving treatment for hours. This environment is not conducive of healing. The parking situation is a nightmare. You have no choice basically to valet park later in the morning or day. Yea, it is “complementary” but you still should tip the employee. The parking garage should have been built 10 years ago when businesses picked up. If your child wants privacy and a peaceful environment for their treatment, I would not recommend TCH.

Last week we took our 9 months old to ER with high fever and he had breathing problem. After 30 mins baby was seen by a doctor and treated promptly. Also i would like to mention nurse named maria, she was very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend this hospital for children.

I took my teenage son here for a mental health emergency. His case was taken very seriously and he was treated with dignity and respect. ALL of the staff were as concerned about us (the parents) as they were for my son. We were constantly asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. All of the staff seemed to appreciate how stressful and difficult it is for parents dealing with a hurting child. This has definitely become our go-to place fro child emergencies.

My experience at the hospital was really good, specifically with the attending ENT doctor. She showed genuine concern and explained the situation really well. I loved that she did not push me to make a decision on the way forward with my child's treatment plan. And also that when I sought her opinion she offered it with supporting evidence. However, getting this appointment scheduled was the downside of it! I am not sure if the providers are few because this appointment was made months ago and it was a hustle to even schedule it. I wish they could work on getting patients seen sooner as some conditions get worse with time.
