The food is good quality. Definitely needs some work to maintain the taste and authenticity. For the price point in houston it felt expensive. Food quality - 10/10 Quantity- 10/10 Taste - 7/10 Location & ambience- 8/10 Hospitality - 7/10 Things to improve- - Taste and premium makeover. - Workers where not trained to know the dish they served.Only manager knew everything and did welcoming. - Price point revaluation. (15-18$ would be appropriate)

One of the worst restaurants I've ever visited. It's highly overrated. There was this Indian staff who i believe is owner/manager was very very rude, he literally asked us to leave if you are done while we are having our food. Coming to food, there wasn't even single dish which was tasty, I'm really confused what's the hype all about. I'd not recommend this at all and especially the Indian manager has got to learn a lot. Do not waste your money here, it's 27 usd which is also too much pricey for what they are offering. Non Indian staff did their job well.

I recently visited this Indian restaurant and had a mixed experience. On one hand, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely some of the best Indian cuisine I've had in a while. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a cold and unfriendly attitude from the staff. They seemed annoyed that we were there and didn't make any effort to make us feel welcome. Our server was particularly rude, barely acknowledging our presence and being dismissive when we asked questions. Despite the poor service, we decided to give the food a try and we were not disappointed. The flavors were rich and authentic, and each dish was cooked to perfection. However, the rudeness of the staff left a sour taste in our mouths and we couldn't fully enjoy our meal. It's a shame that such delicious food is overshadowed by such poor customer service. While I would recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food, I would caution potential diners to be prepared for the possibility of unfriendly staff.

Authentic vegetarian thali experience. This restaurant is not for the faint of heart or wannabe foodies. If you want an authentic explosion of Indian flavor and spices in your mouth, this is the place to go in Houston. I recommend eating with your hand, your right hand to be exact. You will enjoy the style of service with half a dozen people coming by your table to fill your your plate and your soul with delights!

Best place I've ever been too. It's all vegetarian, I'm used to going to Indian places where there is chicken or seafood. Tho even tho it was vegetarian it tasted better than others I've had before. The quality and the way is made is outstanding. As well was very owener was very carrying to go out of his way and make it priority if any of his customers have peanuts allergy and has alternative for it... really loved this place and do recommend it. I will be back again definitely.

Unlimited premium vegetarian food. Enough said! If you don't know what to order but want to eat quality Indian meal, and if like the food to be served without you having to lift a finger, this is it. Amazing food from Rajasthan in India served with diligence. Always a pleasure to treat yourself here. They have more than a dozen different dishes each day, and everything is authentic and delicious, not to forget the food is unlimited! Don't forget to make room for khichdi (creamy lentil rice)! They also have a mild option for their food. So glad to have this gem of vegetarian restaurant.

Service as usual, Really Horrible!!! Old man is very pushy as he wants everyone to just seat and leave. If you going to a restaurant and if the heat outside is 106 you expect the AC to be ON. The old guy says to its already ON where as even blind person can see the AC is off. When complaining to him about AC being off and very hot he mentions go to INDIA. The owner need to seat with him and save his business before it collapse. Cleanliness and Service is disgusting. They want customer to eat quick and leave not worth paying almost $30 per person. If any competitor is reading this review, Suggestion- Please open the same concept and same kind a food in bigger space with better service.

We finally got to try the famous Maharaja bhog for dinner in Houston. People are usually skeptical about vegetarian unlimited thalis but they have done it well. Good staff, eager and quick service. We were so hungry, the ghee rich dishes will fill you up quick. The rotis and pooris were fresh and most of the dishes were great. It would be unfair to compare it with these unlimited thalis in India but the price is about $24 per person is quite reasonable imo, just build up an appetite before you come. I would have hoped they had some more snacks/appetizers at the start and maybe one more dessert like a rasgulla or gulab jamun types. The service was great and I hope they will broaden their dish offerings in the future but it’s definitely worth it.

Very nice concept. My very first experience with “thali”. Basically you get around 14-15 options in tiny portions all in front of you that they refill as much as you want. All of their dishes are vegetarian. Loved the curries the most. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the fact that out of the 15 dishes that you are given around 6 or 7 were lentil dishes. Also loved their unlimited minty buttermilk drink.

December 2021 Two things are a common theme for this restaurant; delicious food and horrible wait times. Let me elaborate the latter: We were a party of 5 on a Sunday afternoon and were told the wait time would be around 45 minutes. So, we returned after 30 minutes to check the status and believe me when I say this, we waited another 1hr 30 minutes for a table. Yikes! Let’s talk about the food, and oh my god, this is a long list. If you’ve never had a THALI before, this will surely be a different experience and you’d be taken aback by the sheer quantity of food at display. The thali - 2 appetizers: Dhokla and a fried pakora. Dal bhati. 4 curries: spinach, potato, paneer and some vegetable curry. 2 different types of dal, one was sweet along with kadhi. Roti and puri (different types of bread) 2 different deserts, salads, sauces and masala chaas (buttermilk). I tried almost all of the food that was served and I liked most of them. The food was fresh, delicious and tasty. The service was on point and the servers would come around often asking to refill your plate with food. The place was big enough and spacious with ample parking space outside. The thali cost us around $23 per person. My verdict? I’d give an A for the food and modest C- in terms of handling guests and assigning tables. It was a chaotic mess outside the restaurant with people waiting for hours just to be seated. These folks need a better reservation system to handle their guests. The guy handling the list of guests looked frustrated and would definitely benefit with some help. Would I love to eat here again? Absolutely! Would I wait for another hour and a half just to be seated on top of the 45 minutes that was stated before? NO

We’ve been here since 6years, when the servers used to dress up and have bowls to wash our hands. They used to have over 4 types of bread and a very huge thali. They’ve downsized their food and service both in quality and quantity since then. From the recent visit, it was a very simple thali with not many items. Just poori and roti on breads and kichdi or plain rice for grains. I may not return here again, for their service especiallly the old manager is not very friendly. And the food options are not interesting any more

Love this restaurant. Service is excellent. They come serve really quickly and add more food when you have eaten that particular item. The best part about this restaurant is the bouquet of different flavors that fill your mouth. Some of these are very unique. Highly recommended

Awesome tasty, sweet and spicy food with over 30 dishes, served on your table by serve staff . Enjoyed yo the fullest every bit. If you care for service ( not bad though while they ask most items on your table, which restaurant they ask you like that?) than food, this place is not for you. Manager seem little rough just I feel it because he wants to make rooms for patrons are waiting on sun waiting for 30 minutes. Must visit for a special occasion.

Hands down one of the best meals I've had in Texas. Maharaja bhog offers a premium vegetarian unlimited thali. They have a set menu and you can get any number of servings of all the items in the menu. All items are served at the table. The taste was just amazing - we lost track of the number of times we asked for some of the items because they were addictive. A very tasty and enjoyable meal and totally worth the price. I am still not able to give 5 stars mainly because of their crowd management which could be way better. On weekends the restaurant is extremely crowded which meant we had to wait outside for almost 30 minutes. It wasn't too hot but I can't imagine doing the wait during Texan summer. Given the high weekend crowd this restaurant gets, a waiting area would be great instead of having us stand outside for a long time. This is still understandable and I'm definitely not complaining for not having a waiting room- just a suggestion. What did not make us feel great were the staff. The staff were getting frustrated because of the big crowd and were being rude. While I understand that a huge crowd can be frustrating, it's not a great feeling to have a rude reception staff welcome us. Couple of waiters were also a bit rude and frustrated. Some of them were very sweet to us so big thanks to them. The manager also seemed frustrated. So while Maharaja Bhog scored extremely well in their taste, they did lose a few points from my side for the rude staff.

This is a very down to earth and authentic Indian vegetarian place featuring cuisines from the western part of India. It's nothing fancy but the food is delicious, and it's quite an experience. All the dishes were serve in small portions, but you can't get as much refill as you can eat. So you always walk out well fed, and feeling good that no food is wasted. It's a great concept and I highly recommend it.

Majestic, one of its kind Experience…, I actually felt like maharaja. It’s an unlimited buffet of Indian food. Food was amazing not too spicy. Good for Natives as well as desi people. They have lots of variety. Good thing is no restriction on any thing. Like you can have unlimited sweets or any other item. They do change menu everyday. So every time I go I get to try different sabzi (vegetable), Namkeen (snack) and sweet. papad, buttermilk, dals, rice, roti and khachadi remains same throughout. On my previous visit I got to have puri. Price range is very decent. They do charge bit more for weekends but it’s totally obvious. Ambiance is quite and peaceful. Best place for family gathering and meetups. I was highly impressed with the service. I didn’t need to call them for any food items they circle back on and off to check if I need something. All the servers are very well dressed and I do like their dress.

I loved the lunch experience at the Maharaja Bhog. The food was delicious and authentic Indian flavors. This is a purely vegetarian all you can eat thali and some of the starters are truly amazing. Definitely on the higher price $$ for Indian buffets but in my opinion this was a fantastic lunch for the qualify and quantity of the food. Highly recommend this place if you're in the Houston area and are craving authentic Indian vegetarian food.

Wow! What an experience. Please please please if you like Indian food and live in the area/are visiting- do not miss this one out. It is so good, better than some of the well known Thali restaurants back in India. I might travel to Houston just for this!!! Please open one in Atlanta PS: you get two types of rice later too that is missing in the pictures

This is an all-you-can-eat, vegetarian thali restaurant. Food is brought to you at your table and served to you in small portions. It's not a buffet. The quality and variety of the food are excellent. Service is good, but it can be very rushed at times. Also, it seems like they're pushing things on you that you might not necessarily want. Generally, it's a rushed, assembly line-type of experience. The dining room is clean and comfortable, but nothing extraordinary. Prices are a bit steep for what you get.

First Thali meal I have had in Houston and I loved the variety of Indian food! The staff were SO friendly and kept serving us over and over despite the fact that the restaurant was completely full. They work hard to keep their customers satisfied.

Near authentic food straight from india to Houston. Impressed with the simple cooking and the selection took of servings. Tables are well spaced and service is quick reminding one of the hospitality back in India. Do call out any allergies in advance and they’ll serve alternatives. Also make sure to arrive around the time they open on the weekends,if you want to avoid the queues.

So disappointed after my visit to this restaurant. Service is poor and very disorganized. The price of the thaali was very high. It was basically a daal platter. Barely any vegetables except for potato, peas, and just varieties of daal. Taste was good no doubt but definitely not worth $28 a plate.

Magee was very friendly and nice. The Moment you sit down this army of service staff descends on you with different things to eat before you know your plate is full with so many options. Out of 4/5 servers that came to our table were very nice and courteous. One occasional one would be gruff and valued speed over courtesy. The food was for the most part average. Quality was good but bit greasy. I would recommend going back for the experience.
