For starters be sure you know what you want. Take no recommendations...they are likely overpriced soups with no taste especially the "Fisherman Soup". Make sure you ask for the price of every item and record answers....They are likely to change on you at checkout. Reason? The owner says the prices on Menu change and they just don't update.

So this is my first time trying goat meat with red sauce and rice as well as plantains. The goat meat was tough in certain areas but probably due to the age of the goat. The sauce is different added flavor to the goat meat which was excellent. The plantains was good seeing as I don't eat bananas unless it's a smoothie. I want to give it a 5 just 4 seem more honest giving that this is my first time eating this. Everything overall good my expectations wasn't disappointed besides not getting fufu. Definitely will try another dish but something different that includes fufu.

Good Food, BUT the price changes according to the immediate mood of the owner/attendant, just like it's done back home. Meat is always tough , making one wonder if they're aware of tenderizers. Rest Room looks like an old outhouse back in Nigeria, an old constant complaint they refuse to fix. A little improvement in customer service to complement the Food would make this place a star. Customers park behind others & block them in, even with empty parking spaces everywhere around. My people need to start adopting some constructive Roman behaviors when in Rome.

Filthy dated ambiance. Decent soup options. Just hygienically unappealing! Oh & typical Nigerian snooty customer service.

Good food, but it all accounts for nothing if customer service is trash. The lady in the front had a very nasty attitude! Like she didn’t wanna be there. She was rushing everyone, like calm down

I ordered vegetable soup ,goat head and rice off the menu. When the owner came to take payment she insisted the price for the goathead was $30 and not the $25 displayed on the menu. Her only explanation was that the price had changed but they were yet to produce a new menu and sarcastically she said everyone knows about it……really funny. She was rude and showed such little concern for the experience of her customers. With such disregard for customer service. I can’t see myself going back.if there was a way the reviews allows for a no star or a negative star, then that is what this business deserves.

Listen. I walked in around 11 A.M and it was just me, as a customer. The service was amazing. The vibes were good. I got my order to go, but had a beer while I waited. I am eating this food and it is just wonderful. I ordered the vegetable soup and plantain with rice and red sauce.

So I just left this place called safari african restaurant September 16 2023 time 10:30pm I bought egusi soup worth $20 but the meat they served me was like stone I couldn’t eat it cos it’s too hard I decided to go back to let them know cos I ate this in my car. I explained that the meat is too hard to see if they can just give me a more better meat but the girl not lady I called her girl because she have no sense of reasoning immediately she told me she can’t do anything about it so I left the food with them . If I had known I would have just walk in there and say hey here’s my card I came here to just gave you guys $20 for nothing. That $20 was my sweat even tho it seem small I curse her as she treated me so shall she be treated sadness will be hers Amen. Needed to add this the boy who took my order was asking me what do I want them to do can u imagine that. Plus the meat was just shaki only which wasn’t suppose to be .

Server, horrible. Said that I should not get fisherman seafood as a first timer, I appreciate honest feedback but what I don’t respect is his face after I decided to proceed with the fisherman seafood. I got that and the goat stew with red sauce. Would not return bc of abysmal service, but the food delivered. Edit: Fisherman seafood was not spicy, very flavorful.

Called to ask about their menu and the person on the other end was super rude. I asked a questioned and they hung up on me. Called again and ask the same question and she sounded annoyed and hung up on me. If this is what is like on the phone pretty sure is gonna be like that dinning in. So this is a pass.

I bought some vegetable soup with goat meat almost two months ago in the evening hours around 5 something so the vegetable was old with the meat also it tasted like boiled leaves medicine it was watery too a gentle man was there I had to throw the food away when I got home went to the restaurant today to buy egusi and pounded yam I told the lady that was there that the vegetable soup was old not fresh she got mad giving me an attitude arguing saying that it wasn't old that only women complained about the food being old she don't have a good attitude towards customers so I quietly walked out of the restaurant I won't be going there for a while just my experience be nice to your customers the restaurant could smell better aslo

I wanted to rate this restaurant higher than 3 stars but they lacked ample attention to the customer. Customer service could use improvement. It was my first time there and I didn’t get that warm feeling you get when an establishment appreciates your presence. I ordered jollof rice with chicken instead I was served jollof rice with hen. The meat was really tough and I immediately recognized the texture as hen. Probably my first and last visit there…sadly.

Absolutely not. I know it’s a “thing” for Africans to dislike or look down on African Americans but this has to be a Texas thing… never had issues like this in Cali. The Fufu they gave me was old and… doesn’t that look like mold? It was lumpy and everything. It smelt disgusting. The food shouldn’t taste or smell primarily like fish or rotten meat… that’s another thing. I’m starting to catch on to the fact that a lot of African resturaunts give certain people high quality items while they give the throw away a to others. Irregardless, it stunk and the food was nasty, meat was tuff. I’ve had several egusis to know this is not it.
