I usually don’t rate hard for restaurants but I am a bit disappointed. First, half of the waiters/workers/cooks weren’t wearing their masks despite the spike of COVID-19 happening again. The waiter was talking over our food and I kinda felt disturbed Second, They mistook my order and I had to wait while everyone else was finishing their food. The waiter did not even apologize and did not check up on how our food was. Did not thank us for tipping at the end Third, I got the Linguine alla Scampi and the one I got after waiting for 10 minutes tasted different from the Same Linguine alla Scampi that my friend ordered next to me. It looked different. It was more salty and sour( bc of lemon pieces inside) Fourth, I found black fiber(?) or hair in my menu after finishing and I was wearing a white shirt so it was obviously not me. However, my other friends’ menus were good. We were impressed with the pasta quality. It was definitely handmade pasta and cooked al dente which I do really prefer for pastas. I did like the pastas here a lot but sadly I did not like the service. I really wish this place had the food and the service as best but it wasn’t and that means a lot to me as this place is priced on the higher side and it is mid-fine dining place. I have been to many mid to high tier restaurants in Houston but service was definitely not good enough for me to not want to come next time😔 Maybe I will find a different handmade pasta place in Houston. Unless you guys really change it up or something

Mama Mia. They got you covered. Traditional Italian. Pasta made on premises. Dolchetto was on the wine 🍷 list. Gotta respect a delicious Italian import. Bravo 👏. Revisit.

The place, atmosphere and service were great the food on the other hand was very disappointing. The steak was so chewy I couldn’t eat it, the crunchy potatoes were okay nothing out of the ordinary. The pasta was very much overcooked. I would expect it from any American place but if they say they are an Italian restaurant and they serve overcooked pasta that’s a big disappointment. Cocktails were nothing special either.

I tried several items from the Houston Restaurant Week menu which included four courses for $55. I highly recommend this restaurant for an Italian fine dining experience. Waitress was very attentive. All of the first courses (Mushroom Arancini, Fried Mozzarella,Crispy Spiced Chickpeas) were delicious. My favorite was the Mushroom Arancini! So rich in flavor. All second courses (Burrata Tartufo, Meatball al Forno, COPPA Caesar) were delicious as well. Favorite was meatball! Third course I tried was Linguine alla Scampi and it was good, but not my favorite. You might want to add Parmesan cheese. I tried the Spaghetti Carbonara (not pictured), and I would have preferred that dish. It was delicious! It was more rich in flavor than the shrimp scampi. Desserts I tasted were Hazelnut Chocolate Cake and Tiramisu. The cake was average and a bit drier than I expected, but the Tiramisu was TOP TIER. It was moist and delicious!

Great patio to sit at and watch the cars and people go by. Valet parking available in front of the restaurant. Corbonara was as good as they say. Shishito peppers were cooked to perfection. Great complimentary bread and butter. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Mushroom arancni was great as well. Server was great and checked on us often . Will be back to try more items off the menu.

Service and food was Excellent! Had the Spaghetti carbonara, and although I was a bit iffy because it came with an egg yolk, I was impressed it didn’t have that yolk taste; it was creamy and tasty. The cocktails were also perfect, I tried a smoky drink “The Grant” (not usually a fan of them) but that one surprised me! It was just the perfect smokiness, very smooth. Our server was super attentive and made sure everything tasted good and kept checking up to see if we needed anything. This place exceeded my expectations

Service was impeccable. If I could only remember our servers name… The restaurant wasn’t busy when we walked in on a Monday for lunch. My friend wanted to start off with some wine but had a hard time choosing which ones. Our server offered to let her sample the two she was choosing between, which was so nice of him. We started off with the pepperoni pizza, that I really enjoyed. I ordered the Garganelli, which is the pesto with pulled chicken, I ate the whole plate. My friend ordered the bolognese, so I tasted a bit of hers and omg it’s so good. I wish they could make the pasta spicy though lol. We ordered donuts for dessert and they came out piping hot. I’m not a donut girl but those little things were addictive. Since it was my birthday, my friend asked them to bring out some cotton candy. (Idk if this was a bday thing) They came walking out with a giant glass of cotton candy with sparklers! I loved it. I’ll definitely be back

Came here for lunch. We were kindly greeted and directed to our table promptly. Our main server was very kind and polite. We were given warm bread and butter while we decided what to order. The beverages and appetizers arrived quickly at the table. We ordered Burrata Tartufo and we shared Tagliatelle Nero Di Sepia; everything was exquisite! As for dessert, we tried Tortino and it was a great indulgence! We had a great experience here. Definitely plan on coming back here soon.

Extremely busy and inviting fun atmosphere. The place is quite packed at peak times but they will seat you ASAP and the outdoor seating is great as well. The food it very good, offering both unique flavors and the classics. Service was excellent and the entire staff is on point from the hosts to the servers to the manager everyone there is to make your dining experience enjoyable and memorable.

Nice, trendy spot in the West U area of Houston. We don't generally eat at places like this but it was a special occasion so why not? Be sure you arrive early because parking is non-existent. Valet is only $6 and alot faster so we opted for that. My Mom parked on one of the side streets and received a Parking Ticket. Apparently, most patrons do because the Valet line was nuts! The restaurant itself is a modern, trendy spot that's not too big but not small. It was extremely packed, not sure if it always is or due to the holidays. Our Waiter was very nice and attentive. He even gave us an XXL bowl of Cotton Candy because we had 3 bdays at our table. The food itself was well presented and very tasty. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and arrived in a timely manner. My issue though the portions weren't big enough imo. It's a trendy spot so you're paying for the atmosphere and the experience. If that's your thing then all good but for me and my family, we really don't dine in places like this. It was a nice dinner and great food but for what we paid for those plates, I'm good. We would eat here again, but on a regular basis, nope. If you get the chance to eat here though, go for it. You won't regret it!

Do yourself a favor and go and have a great meal. Every item that we have on the menu has been delicious. We have been there at least 15 times in the past few years and enjoyed every bite. The meals are a little on the expensive but you definently get your money's worth

Went here for lunch and got the margarita pizza, seafood pasta and okra. The pizza was delicious. The ratio of pizza to cheese was perfect. I really enjoyed the okra as well. I even topped my pizza with it. The seafood pasta was the one thing I didn’t enjoy. It tasted too salty. The service and ambiance are really lovely as well, makes you want to stay longer. Oh and I loved that they had mocktails!! So delicious! Will be back!

This review is for a birthday dinner I did with my daughter on a Saturday in August. I came to visit her in Houston and she wanted Italian for her 10th birthday… this restaurant exceeded my expectations and previous dining experiences I have had there. We were a walk in and got seated swiftly at 6pm. Service was excellent, the recommendations were on point, and the food was great. They brought her a giant cotton candy with a sparkler, which just happens to be her favorite sweet treat. Wow do they know how to do a kids birthday! I know we’ll be coming back for future daddy daughter date nights and birthdays! Thanks Coppa Osteria!

Great place for business or casual dinner. Many wines by the glass. Pizza is exceptional. Very courteous staff and kid friendly. Year later....Visited again today and Coppa continues to serve great pasta, seafood, and pizza.

I love coming here whenever I get a chance. The food is always amazing and the service is so good. We’ve had a little of everything on the menu and you really can’t go wrong. We usually order multiple plates and share everything family style, it’s the best. I will also note, eating by candlelight just makes everything that much better.

Can’t think of a single reason not to give 5 stars. We came here to celebrate our daughter’s 23rd birthday and from the moment we valeted our car to the moment we walked out of the restaurant, we felt welcomed and spoiled. The food and drinks were great and the service was perfect. Had several members of the management team check up on us throughout the meal. This was our first time, but it won’t be our last. Delicioso! Perfecto!

Ok so starting off with parking, valet $6 not too bad but it would've been nice to have it complimentary. however i get why they charge because it's for both gratify and coppa. customer service throughout my dining experience. decent, they could've made it better although i could tell that they were trying, like my server jordan. she was friendly and checked up on me multiple times. she seemed new but she got most of the basics checked - except for the to-go where she dumped the leftovers on top of the pizza instead of putting it in a container.. the manager seemed very new as well - didnt ask me what type of tea i wanted and brought me a cold iced tea which i had to tell her i wanted hot tea. weird. food. i got grilled octopus, half chopped italian salad, bianca pizza, vanilla ice cream & warm chamomile tea. grilled octopus was good, i loved it. good portion. half chopped italian salad, very plain, tho it did went together with all the other food i got. but i wouldnt get it again. bianca pizza - loved it as long as you eat it with honey. might wonder why, because it becomes very similar to gorgonzola pizza and that's my fav pizza. it's rare to find gorgonzola here in houston so.. lastly the ice cream is homemade and yummy, and tea is a tea you would expect. i am glad i went for an early dinner on a friday because once people started coming thru 6:30pm and after, it felt so crowded and loud. especially the tables are very close to each other and you would see big groups coming through. overall i did have a pleasant experience and i can see myself coming here again. def not during the busy days.

Made reservations when we were staying in the area and we were not disappointed!! I would recommend making reservations on the weekends especially because they were packed the entire time we were there. Plenty of seating, inside and out. They have a full bar, with TVs, and seating for about 10 to 15 people. Staff is amazing!! You have your very friendly and very knowledgeable staff for anything you need! As If have an amazing waiter isn't enough there were several others walking around picking up plates and asking if there was anything else that was needed!! All the food looked delicious and the waiter had several recommendations so we went with three entries for the two of us with no appetizers or sides. We were not disappointed!! Food was great and it might have been a little too much but we were happy and satisfied! Drinks were also good, Negronis!! Don’t forget the cotton candy for the birthday dessert 😁

Delicious! Husband and I went for a date night on Friday. Made reservation for 6, seated immediately and the hostess brought us a glass of wine for it being our first time! The wait staff was great, constantly making sure our waters were full. The food was awesome! We both got carbonara and loved it. My only complaint was it was very hot to me but could have been where we were sitting the fact they were packed. Will be back!

First time here, came for lunch and it did not disappoint! Had the sangria and arancini and basil pasta with chicken. Delicious homemade pasta and refreshing drinks! Romantic atmosphere perfect for date night and very professional staff.

It is expensive, but the service and ambience and food are worth it for a special occasion. We had margarita pizzas, carbonara pizza, and the steak. Everything was very good and the servings were adequate size. A fantastic pile of cotton candy with a sparkler comes for a birthday guest. The tiramisu was good, but not great - quite dry and the only thing we ordered that wasn’t amazing. Wouldn’t order again. We saw some tables with something resembling a bread/focaccia basket but we never got one. We would have assumed to get something like that at a place like this, but I guess others ordered it for a cost. The service was friendly and timely. There is valet parking but there is also street parking nearby. We will definitely return again with our family.

  • 3/5 Alena B. 1 year ago on Google
Great ambiance. Valet parking or you can park along the streets with the meter. (Parking is free at 24hr fitness garage shh) The overall wait time for getting seated was super quick. The staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant needs to do better with order of delivery. We ordered drinks first then our food. The bar wasn’t even backed up and somehow our food arrived way before our drinks. Bread was ordered for the table and came when almost everyone’s food was finished. The server was helpful with explaining the menu and taking our order, however, I think he was in the weeds and didn’t ask for assistance because we barely saw him. That’s the only reason for the low review. But I’ve been a server before so I know the industry and how it can be a challenge to keep up with big tables. I would suggest buddy serving to have multiple servers for one table when it’s a big party because it was for my cousin’s birthday and his experience would have been a lot more pleasant had the service went a little smoother. The manager did come over and talk to him which was really nice. I personally would go back again because they had vegan options (really just the sides, but still flavorful) & unpopular opinion- the Mocktails were the best!! Lovely scenery for a date night or family outing. Just needs a little more server support and flow of service!

Gorgeous spot! Great service and amazing food & cocktails. Gets pretty busy and space feels abit tight. Otherwise, tasty dishes and cocktails just wonderful! I had the Tuscan Kale salad w shrimp and enjoyed Gin & Tonic 🤍🤍🤍

Food was great and portions were ideal sizes. It was little noisy. I would definitely will go back again. Service was fast but needed little more training to spend time with customers since they are upscale restaurants.

  • 5/5 Mariana M. 6 months ago on Google
I had the Italian chopped salad and the pasta Mandy with chicken! Both highly recommended! I made an order for delivery. The flavor of the salad was great, I would order again, I just wish it had more of the ingredients, was mainly just iceberg lettuce. The pasta was amazing! I can’t describe the flavor but the tomatoe sauce, the pasta itself, the mozzarella on top, just perfection!! I also saw other reviews mentioned they got warm bread when they were seated, so if that was a thing I wish they would of sent some.

I only have two pictures from my dining experience at Coppa Osteria - the reason being that the food just looked too good and we simply couldn't wait for photos. This time around we went with the Bolognese and the Carbonara, with fried chickpeas to start. Both pastas were flavorful and very tasty. For the price, though, I wish the portions were a bit larger.

We totally enjoyed our meal here this evening. Our server, Jade, could not have been more personable. I had the mushroom and truffle salad - delicious - and the lamb chops, a favorite of mine. They were prepared a little more well done than “medium rare” but were still quite enjoyable. Had to ask for the bread (which was totally worth it). Love to go back if we are here again.

Good wine served way too cold (red and whites). Food is ok depending on the day you go and what you order. The carbonara is delicious and consistent. The black pasta, tomato base, with shrimp was not good and came out cold. The calamari was very good! The bar stools are hard to sit on because they are velvet. There is no happy hour menu. We were there for an after work hang out and ended up spending $140 for 2 adults with 2 glasses of wine, 1 pasta, 1 veggie, 1 chickpea, and an appetizer. Not worth the cost really unless you just need convenience.

I've been here many times over the years and the food never fails to impress. The highlight of this visit for my wife and I was the whole branzino. Absolutely amazing 'melts in your mouth' deliciousness. The preparation of it was perfect. The market price on it for a whole fish was very reasonable too. All of the other dishes were very tasty. The service was excellent as usual. The post-lockdown handling of the social distancing was pretty good. All of the staff were wearing masks and the tables being used were spread out with empty tables used for separation. The only complaint I have is with the thermostat setting. It was quite warm inside, and both me and my wife were sweating uncomfortably while enjoying our meal. We suffered through it without complaint because we understand it's probably one of two things: 1) the restaurant is trying to adjust the settings to account for the reduced body count inside or 2) the thermostat was turned up a few degrees to lower the electric bills to manage overhead costs with the current restrictions in place. If we'd known this in advance, we would have dressed in lighter clothing, and it wouldn't have been a problem. Also note that the valet service is still shutdown so parking is a bit of a free for all at the moment.
