I just recently delivered my child on the 29 of December with having Covid at the same time ,and when I tell you out of all my three delivery’s this last one was the worst experience ever . My first two was at the women’s Hospital but since this hospital was the closest I had no choice but to attend. When I got there I was already 7 centimeters dilated and I couldn’t get a epidural, all the nurses were moving very slow with attitudes out of this world , they acted like they didn’t want to tend to my needs the whole time I was in pain. The doctors seems like she didn’t know what to do as of closing up , she seemed lost to knowing how to stitch me up. When I moved to my Postpartum room the The AC unit was broken so it was extremely hot . I kept asking the nurse could she change my room or have somebody come fix the AC she told me sorry she couldn’t do anything because I have Covid and I’m in the room with my newborn child I just recently delivered four hours to five hours ago. So I had to wait three more hours to get my room changed in the room was next-door, she seems very upset when she was moving me . The food was nasty and always cold and I was right next to the kitchen. I would not recommend this hospital for labor and delivery to anyone

The worst experience ever. I was on a bed right next to the nurses station for 7 hours no privacy what so ever. The Doctor kept asking the nurse to put the IV on me three times with in 4 hours. Never done. He finally told her to bring the things and he would do it himself. Doctor was very respectful and apologetic about the situation. At one time a had a rude EMS person which i asked for his name to report him and no one wanted to give his name. It was so upsetting being at HCA WHW emergency room.

I went in with my husband because he was having chest pains and stomach issues. They assumed it was Covid, despite the fact that I shared that he was Covid negative after two negative tests. He was at a level 9 pain and was provided nothing for the pain. After a chest CT and fluids, he was released, still with no pain relief. As we were waiting to be discharged, I opened the door to let some heat in as they had the air cranked all the way up, despite the fact that it was 40 degrees outside. The charge nurse aggressively asked if he could help me, and I notified him that we were awaiting discharge. They proceeded to talk loudly and disrespectful about me, and when someone asked who I was, they stated my name and my relation to my husband. I asked for that person's name, and I was written down for me as the town of voice and body language was unprofessional and his behavior was completely uncalled for. Thao Vu was his name, and we will not be returning to HCA after this for any level of care. As a medical professional, do not go here unless you are an inmate or detainee. Those are the only patients they appeared to care about. Bedside manner is trash, addressing genuine concern and answering questions is not their forte, and they appeared more content to talk amongst each other than provide treatment and care. While my husband was throwing multiple PVC's and in sinus tachycardia, they were laughing and joking at the desk.

I have been very disappointed with the quality of care at this facility. There didn't seem to be clear communication between the different parties involved in my surgery, nor between the hospital and me. For both my surgeries this year at HCA West, the admission nurses seemed very disorganized and at times, even confused about what they were doing or where to find information. The process was cumbersome and lengthy. The professionals in the lab were the best part of the process. The scheduling was poorly done. I was given different arrival times, told I was late (it was 2 minutes past the arrival time written on my paperwork from preop)then ended up waiting over 5 hours for my surgery. I know things can get backed up, but that seems excessive. My anesthesiologist and his nurse anesthetist were knowledgeable with great bedside manners. The nurses in preop were professional and friendly. Unfortunately, my discharge nurse was rather unpleasant, but it was late. I have been to this hospital for various services over the past 24 years. Overall, I have lost confidence in this facility and would not recommend it if another choice were available.

The check in experience was new to me, HCA West did a very welcoming and thorough job helping me for my surgery appointment. The employees treated patients nicely and professionally. All the nurses, doctors, and rest of the staff soothed my anxiety with the check in process and discharge process. The bathrooms are clean exceptionally well and people were safe distancing and wearing masks at all times! The environment was tranquil and neat!

My Daughter Has Been Having Issues The Last 24 Hours for possible gall bladder issues. We arrived around 11:30 am. HCA Houston Healthcare West ER Was Absolutely Horrible Today. My Daughter Was Actively Seizing & I Yelled For Help.. Not Once But Twice. The Security, Nurse Practitioner & Nursing Staff Stood In The Doorway And Watched While I Was Trying To Help Her, They Failed To Assist, And The NP Said To Me That We Were Disturbing Other Patients. This is was unacceptable and very unprofessional. If your staff is that burned out from their job then maybe they should not be working there. People need care and their bedside manners was shocking. I’ve been in the healthcare field for the last 15 yrs and well aware of how things should be handled. You need to wipe out a lot of your staff and seek people who will do their job with a little bit of compassion. I will be getting touch with everyone in higher positions including the chief medical officer and chief nursing officer and then some.

Overall, I had a horrible experience after surgery with the night personnel on the FIFTH floor. I threw up on myself for multiple hours and night shift personnel did not assist in anyway. Additionally, I was not given any medication for the nausea. The lack of communication is beyond me. I have never seen such unprofessionalism. The only thing amazing about HCA West was the Day Shift personnel! They were hilarious, attentive, and caring. I wish I could name them all. (#502)

I wouldn’t even recommend a animal to this hospital. No communication, lazy, angry, BLACK nurses. They sit down all day and do nothing. One patient wasn’t bathed for a week they family arrived to the hospital and was upset by what they saw. They turn the call button off or light off. It takes them an hour before they come after pressing the call button. The chairs for the patient family to sit in is so hard feel like your sitting on the floor it doesn’t lay back and then I had to request a chair it’s wasn’t in the room it took them 2 hours to get the chair. I can go on and on it was just that bad! It was HORRIBLE!!! The worst hospital to go to!!! DO NOT GO TO WEST HOUSTON HCA!!! If I could give them zero stars I would!!

My labor and delivery experiences was the best! It was long and exhausting and I didn’t eat anything. After delivery, the charge nurses and all the nurses took great care of me! They bought me so many snacks and congratulations cake since the cafeteria was closed at night. Thank you so much for the best experiences from the L&D department <3

I just had my 1st baby Maisie Vu on 08/26/2023 at HCA Houston Healthcare West. From the bottom of our heat, all of my family want to say “Thank you” Dr. DHARI AAMAR and nurse Jasmine and all of the nurses helped me during the time I stayed in hospital. Doctors, nurses, employees, even the lady clean up so nice and professional. I can’t remember all of their name to say Thank you and mentioned in this review. I hope they can read my review, remember me and smile while they’re reading this review. If I have 2nd or 3rd babies, of course I will choose this hospital again. Thank you so much!

This hospital is by far the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. My mom was admitted here for 2 weeks and has had the most inconsistent care. I’ll give credit to where it’s due, Dr. Duong is amazing, quick, thorough and efficient. The nurses are a different story. My mom would press the call light and no one would answer. The doctor had ordered the nurse to remove my moms Foley catheter for 3 days and it wasn’t done (risk for infection). There’s a handful of nurses that were very attentive and caring but most begrudgingly tended to my mom and even threatened her bill being charged for changing her bag. Lastly, the most bizarre thing I’ve ever heard of, they accidentally discharged my mom. She had a blood transfusion and was suppose to be kept an extra few days to make sure she’s not bleeding internally anymore and there were specific HOLD discharge orders and yet they set up and ambulance to pick her up and take her back home. She was still nauseous and vomiting. She eventually went back to the ER at a different hospital.

The ER personnel were fantastic, they were with us every minute asking questions getting information, and catering to every need my 92 year old mother had. I can’t say enough good things about the doctors, nurses, therapists etc. it is so comforting knowing what a great facility we have in west Houston. Not only the ER gets a 5 star rating but also the hospital. My mom was admitted and stayed for 2 days. I’ve never experienced that level of dedication this facility has to offer. The level of communication between the different team’s of specialists was the best I’ve ever experienced. Amen to all personnel at West Houston Medical Center.

The nurses were wonderful considering the situation and given the circumstances. My very close friend was in SICU. Unfortunately, we lost him. Broken hearts and spirits can be delicate to handle. I just want the nurses to know we appreciate the level of tenderness while trying to process all that happened to our dear loved one. Thank you. Rest easy in His arms, my love.

I came in for an emergency, I spent over two hours before I could see a doctor. After the doctor made his recommendation, the nurse came in with a bottle of IV and three injections. I told her I think I might need to eat something before taking those injections as it was 15hours since I had my last meal. She insisted it didn't matter. I was in a lot of pain so I met her go ahead. She tried connect the IV and the line wasn't going through, she decided to force it, after which she inject the 3 different meds into my arm, in less that 2mins I was almost passing out, could not breath any more. When I started screaming for help, the new nurse who just took over the shift grudgingly came in and told me nothing was wrong with me I should try to relax. I had to insist I get something to drink and I continued screaming. She had to get me two small cups of orange juice before I could breath fine. Two days after I was discharged I noticed my arm where the IV went into was hurting badly, the vein was swollen and had clogged blood underneath the skin area. Till date I am still battling the pain and its now hardened and not relieving me.

While registration and admission are commendable, the beleaguered nursing staff and food freshness leaves a lot to be desired. Waiting an hour for someone to check on you once your light has been pushed and moldy french toast and overripe fruit (mushy) were a few issues with ky 3 day stay. Had my doctor not been affiliated with this facility, I never would have had a major surgery.

Everything was good up until I was moved from surgery to the fifth floor. I don’t usually write reviews. Registration was great, 2nd floor surgery was amazing they are so attentive and kind, all of the physical therapist were amazing the room service was amazing the lab personnel were so kind. Once I was moved to the fifth floor it all went to hell. I had a laminectomy and spinal fusion worst pain I ever felt! Now there were a select few nurses that I loved and were very kind. I didn’t get my pain meds when I was supposed to, I was never offered a shower it was like I was a problem. My mom asked for ice at the nurses station and was snapped at. I was there for 4 days and it was pure hell! The day I was discharged I was told I couldn’t have anything for pain for the 2 hour ride home, luckily one of the nice nurses said “she has a 2 hour ride give her something, I was given one pain tablet waited 2 hours (by then the meds had worn off)for a wheelchair that never came, my sister went to the nurses station to ask what was going on to which a nurse literally looked at her and said “ I’m busy “ and turned around! I finally just had my mom and sister help me walk out on my own no wheelchair no walker

The worse place. The doctor's don't know how to diagnose anything and the nurses are lazy and very unprofessional. My mother was brought in for chest pains and she asked for some ice chips for dry mouth and was given some by another nurse then the nurse working on her snatched the ice away and trashed it. She didn't tell anyone that she wasn't supposed to eat or drink anything. She was very rude and never came in the room except to check blood pressure. She was in er for over 12hrs before finally getting a room. They told her the room number and and then put her in a different room. She's been in there a week and they still don't know what is wrong with her. She needs to change hospitals.

Not the best experience I’ve had. I have a history of migraines and vertigo. Typically over the counter medication will help, but occasionally it doesn’t and I can’t stop throwing up so I go to the hospital. The migraine, I didn’t think it was that, was the worst one I’ve had ever. The pain was almost unbearable. I had been throwing up for almost 2 hours when I finally decided to go to the hospital. Upon arriving, I had an ambulance take me as my family wasn’t available, they wanted to put me in the lobby. I was actively throwing up when they pushed me in the doors. I started to throw up again before they tried to take me out and then decided I should stay. I continued to throw up and told them how long I had been. My stomach hurt so bad at that point I was disoriented and not able to really focus. I was expecting iv fluids as I was dehydrated but waited almost an hour until it and medication was given. Imagine if I had been in the lobby. When the nurse came to take blood, she was rude and had no empathy at all. She got an attitude and stated could I please stop moving. I had not been given anything at that point and was still in a lot of pain. It was obvious she didn’t read my chart or notes or whatever they look at before they engage with a patient. I almost started to get rude but didn’t say anything. When she poked me the first time she wasn’t able to get any blood, she tried again and I cried out in pain. I don’t usually bruise but I have one on both arms where she poked me. I then told her I was dehydrated and had been throwing up for about 2 hours. It would be difficult to get blood from me due to that fact, which I thought she would know since she is a nurse. I told her if I would have been hydrated it would be very easy. I’ve never had issues giving blood. It took about 4 hours until I was discharged. Towards the end the nurse started to chit chat with me as well as some of the other employees which is why I am giving 2 stars. Over all though, my experience wasn’t good.

The Doctor/Resident Devante Shootes was supposed to send my meds to my pharmacy . he sent NOTHING but the laxatives. & i can’t get in touch with him . I called the 5th floor there where I was admitted too and they had a rude attitude and didn’t want to help . The guy on the phone at emergency who sounded gay had the MOST horrible attitude ever . I’m just over this hospital , this used to be a great hospital . idk what happened .

My doctor was EXCELLENT! The nurse left those sticky things on me from my EKG. She was always in such a hurry that she would forget to bring or do something. For example, she left a tube with some of my blood on the tray and left it there while she brought me a sandwich. She didn't notice it until I was finished eating. I'm sure she'd make a better office nurse where there are few emergencies. The intake staff was SUPERIOR as well. In fact Debra C. was the person who checked me in for COVID last August. I told her that I remembered her kindness and care. She's WONDERFUL and COMPASSIONATE.

They took such good care of me! I came into the ER unconscious because I had really low oxygen levels and they offered me the urgent care needed. I stayed there for a day and a half and within that time, they would always check on me to see if I was comfortable and well situated. The nurses were so nice! The food was alright and the beds were really comfortable.

We got an ultrasound there and months later I was introduced to a collection company though we paid out co pay, now here I’m calling them to get the number for their radiology sub contractor named singleton associates by the collection company, so I confirm and pay, but not the billing nor the radiology department is confirming and giving the contact number for this sub contractor which introduced me to the collection, here I’m pending who to pay it before confirmation!

Amazing staff. Started check in process as soon as I entered building. Soon as I got to the doctor was waiting on me, which means they were ready to help. All nurses was very helpful and friendly. They didn't treat me like a number. Listened to all my symptoms and addressed them. Multiple staff members came by to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Definitely a way better hospital than memorial Hermann!!! I will say it again way better than memorial Hermann. And fully staffed. Keep up the great work

Hi my name is Ms. Sheppard I have been a patient here a for a couple of times mostly for convenience it's closer than my doctor's office or the hospitals where I will have my procedures and so they would do the test here I didn't always have the most professional and empathetic customer service however upon one of my visits I met Ms. Tamara T. and everything changed from then on every time I came in for any radiology visit blood work anything I needed she was the front line check in clerk & ALWAYS went above and beyond and it wasn't just for me I sat and watch and she treated all of her patients the same way even patients that were not really friendly they got angry with her she always stay calm always stayed professional and in the end of it all they always ended up thanking her my experience with her is that she went all the way to another department to help me when I was having problems walking around and around I couldn't get a wheelchair I was having problems breathing and she stopped what she was doing and assisted me that kind of professionalism comes from the heart in this day and age of covid the front line workers are tired and worked to the limit stressed out she never showed it she stayed calm and she assisted me & others on the worst day of their lives a lot of people are quick to put in a complaint but don't want to take the time out to put in a compliment so I want to compliment Miss Tamara and say thank you and God bless you for taking out time for the little people for truly putting patients first and caring for us when I know it's really a hard time right now just know your hard work is not taking for granted and it's not going unnoticed and your smile and care goes along way I hope your supervisor read these reviews and recognize and give some accommodation for you you deserve it Thanks God bless

Tamara does an excellent job at giving realistic expectations of your appointment time as well as making everyone as comfortable as possible. I appreciate her.

My elderly parents and I were at the hospital last week. My mother was showing signs of confusion and lack of balance. ER personnel took us after a short time and started performing tests on her immediately after. Mom was admitted to the hospital overnight where she received constant attention and care. Every single nurse and Doctor who saw mom at the ER and once she was admitted was exceptionally throughout in their examinations and most importantly...kind and compassionate. I cannot thank them enough for understanding that patients are scared and vulnerable; specially seniors. Waiting times could be unavoidable when seeing many patients but what is critical is the type of attention patients receive once they are with a nurse or a doctor.

I New I was in great hands as soon as I arrived for surgery. Tamara greeted me with a vivacious smile at the elevator and walked me to my room. Soon after that, I was assisted by the nursing staff, (Gloria, Michelle, Lisa, and Nikki) who comforted me while preparing me for my procedure. The anesthesiologist, (Dr. Patel and Carlos) made sure I was at ease before administering the medication. Dr. Livingston did an amazing job as always, and I am so pleased he performs his surgeries at HCA West.

My father was suffering from pain around his stomach for a very long time. We did every possible and available test in all other famous Houston Hospitals but no one was able to diagnose his disease. A friend recommend HCA, we went to ER because he was in more pain than usual. It took them seven hours to admit him l, I didn’t like it at first but after admission his disease was diagnosed and did a surgery within hours. All the nurses were awesome specially (Areesh) if I have not misspelled her name. She was new but very cooperative and supportive. Thank you to all the doctors and staff.

The wait time was understandable but the ER crew were very diligent in handling each case. ER nurse/doctor took my pain seriously and ordered multiple tests to ensure they found my diagnosis. I was treated with great care, patience and left feeling comforted knowing the doctor did her best to cure me.

Where do I begin…. I wish I could give the staff at HCA 10 stars for the treatment my newborn and I received during our stay at the facility. The entire staff from the people who clean rooms to the doctors in the OR were all courteous, respectful, nice, caring and beyond amazing. This was my fourth child and my first time at HCA so I was extremely nervous and skeptical. Shortly after being admitted I began to relax. Everyone there showed so much compassion to my needs I knew I was in good hands. I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!

I can not stop expressing the gratitude I have for the staff at HCA Houston Healthcare West! First and foremost, I appreciate all the wonderful nurses and staff who assisted my mother during her visit. Tamara was exceptional at with her assists in my mothers visit, very knowledge and communicated effective and made sure the family and my mother all were in the loop on all information. Sarah was a joyous helpful nurse who showed tremendous care and insight to us and my elderly mom. Sandra was very tender and nurturing to my mothers needs and accommodations. Annabelle performed my mothers pre-op appointment and conducted such a thorough job I am truly grateful for her that day. We as a family are so happy and blessed to have had such a great staff that day. My mother thanks you all for everything. Thank you so much HCA.

First things first, I had a scar revision with Dr. Christopher Livingston and he is the best in the land. He has the best bedside manners and takes really good care of his clients. His Nurse Courtney is also the best and they make you feel at home all the way down to the receptionist JoJo. He couldn't have chose a better location to perform my procedure. The nurses made sure I was comfortable from beginning to end and they didn't meet a stranger while getting me prepared. My experience was a great one and I appreciate the customer care that was given, all the way down to the young lady who called me the next day to check on me and to see if I needed anything. Thank you for everything ❤️
