We are so grateful that we walked into Rice Village Diamonds! Our experience here was very different from other diamond stores we had been to. We felt like our needs were listened to and everyone was very attentive. I didn’t feel like they were trying to push a sale rather they were very passionate about what they do and creating beautiful engagement rings. We walked in knowing we wanted to do a custom ring and they walked us through every step of the process. When we started building the possibility with Gil we knew we found our place. They found us the perfect sapphire oval stone and were able to create a beautiful one of a kind custom ring. Gil and the entire team at rice village are very knowledgeable and they even added a few more details that really elevated the design. We couldn’t be happier and we will cherish this ring for a lifetime!

I made an online order that was unable to be filled. I was offered alternatives but ultimately decided to cancel the order. That's no sweat. It's disappointing, but I get it. My one star review pertains to the customer service I experienced when I called to get help cancelling my order. I spoke to a receptionist or call director. She asked how she could help me. I began to explain that I needed help canceling an order and she abruptly and tersely cut me off to ask who I needed my call directed to. I explained that I didn't know because I made an online order. At that point, she made it seem like I was most stupid person alive and ask "Which website?!" As if I was supposed to know that they use more than one website to sell their goods. After getting past her attitude, I was requested to leave my contact information for a sales person who was much nicer. Given that there are so many diamond shops in Houston, I will certainly never try to make a purchase at this place. And if you are planning to make a big purchase here, I would caution you against it. You likely do not want thousands of your hard earned dollars tied up with a place that will treat you poorly.

I would give Rice Village Diamonds and their staff 10 stars if this was an option. They are truly the best! Gil is a master of diamonds, design, etc. and will build you the perfect customized engagement ring based on your personal preferences. Each ring is made specifically for the person wearing it. He responds to texts and goes above and beyond. I totally trust him and his exceptional experience and knowledge. No cookie cutter rings here! Only the best quality at the best price. Rhiannon was our sales rep and she took so much time to show us many rings to make sure we locked in on what we like best. Her advice was very helpful. Since sales people here are not paid on commission, they truly care about your happiness and not pushing the ring. Honestly, if you are in the Houston area, do not buy another ring before checking them out first. You will be happy you did!

Wanted to do my wife a favor by trying to get her ring reset with a new stone. She had wanted to replace the stone in one of her rings. She researched and decided to purchase a lab grown stone online. I took the ring and stone to Rice Village Diamonds to inquire if they would set the stone (not an unreasonable request for any other jeweler I have frequented). The person I spoke with look personally offended that I would even ask such a thing. He said they would not set the stone and wondered why I didn't buy the stone from him. After explaining that my wife had purchased the stone online for her own reasons, he replied "then have her set it". With that I turned around and walked out. No skin off my back I will find a different jeweler for this and all other jewelry needs. EDIT: In response to Rice Village Diamonds reply, I was not offended by the inability to perform the setting of the stone. The liability of setting an unknown stone in an unknown setting is an understandable risk to not take. However, to berate a customer for not "buying from me", then telling them to set it themselves was not the way to handle this. A quick explanation of store policy would have sufficed. I would have appreciated the explanation, said thanks, and looked for another jeweler who would perform this (which I found and they will even warranty their work!).

The most incredible store. They are honest, trustworthy, and do nothing but quality work. We have used them for everything including wedding ring, family heirloom projects, custom jewelry, and just regular purchases! We love them and won’t take our jewelry anywhere else.

My family has relied on this place for years. I have since changed states but still reach out to Gil when I need anything for my wife. They have the absolute best customer service and promptly fill orders/communicate with customers. I have always felt that their pricing is very fair and I just trust them. If you’re like me, and searching for best place to find a ring to propose look no further! Gil & company are the most professional guys out there. They really take the time to assess your needs to get you what you want. They take the time to educate you on the difference on grading diamonds. Most of the jewelry stores I went to when searching for the perfect ring the owners would ask me how much I wanted to spend and try to maximize profits. Much different experience here. Had such a great experience here I’ve sent many friends here whom all shared similar experiences. Highly recommend!

They know their stuff; aren't pushy salesman and just present the facts of each piece. They understand that a man is already looking to buy an engagement ring, he doesn't need to be convinced of an inferior piece. I've received the response "well they're all different but look closer, blah blah blah" when I mentioned I didn't like something about a piece at OTHER stores, but at Rice Village, if you don't like it, it leaves the table, regardless of price. It's a puzzle to solve, not a sales pitch to be won, and these guys get that.

Rice Village Diamonds is a wonderful establishment that provides more than a place to find diamonds and fine jewelry (though, you will find that as well). Rice Village Diamonds' entire staff provide customer specific guidance, advice, and suggestions when deciding between products; whether a gift for a loved one, or the intimate (nerve-wracking for some!) purchase of an engagement/wedding ring: they treat you like family. They have a vast assortment of jewelry to select from for any kind of budget. They are very kind and patient for those who don't know what they're doing, and expert in their craft for those who know what they want, exactly how they want it-- They will provide! Just wanted to mention Sales Associate Rebecca and Manager Gil, as they were the people I worked with when selecting my purchase, and I couldn't have asked for better help. They truly made the most important purchase that I've ever made more special by providing me amazing service, giving the situation reverence, and taking the edge off with polite conversation and advice while I nervously shifted around the store. Everyone from patrons and employees at Rice Village Diamonds is wearing a smile on their face, and for good reason. I cannot recommend Rice Village Diamonds for your next purchase enough. Update Edit: I stopped in Rice Village Diamonds two years later to say hello, and Gil remembered me! He mentioned things we discussed from two years earlier, it really goes to show that they care about their clients at Rice Village Diamonds. That's service! My fiancé and I purchased my engagement ring from Rice Village Diamonds, and we had a great experience! We brought a loose diamond that belonged to my fiancé’s grandmother, and Gil did an amazing job matching it to two side stones. He made honest recommendations to what he thought would look best with the stone, and it turned out beautiful. I get many compliments on the ring, and everyone we talked to was very helpful and easy to work with.

Gil and his team did an amazing job helping me create my custom made engagement ring. He really got to know me and he went to the ends of the earth to find me the perfect pink sapphire. I thought it would be way out of our price range, but he made it happen. If you want to get a great deal and be treated like family every time you walk through the door, give them a try, you won't regret it!!!

We went to a different jeweler to design my ring, and he never came through. My husband, boyfriend at the time, went showed them the design, and they had it done in almost NO time. It was done and ready by his proposal! On top of that, when a diamond from the band came out, they replaced it with no hassle! I LOVE them.

Our custom engagement ring was two years in the making, and Rice Village Diamonds treated us with utmost friendliness and patience the entire way. I first walked in early 2019 to learn about rings and diamonds in general. I was upfront about my lack of intent to buy right away, but they were still incredibly patient with me. I came away with a lot of knowledge as well as a few interesting choices. Afterwards, I researched up and down, from Tiffany and Cartier at one end to friend-referred raw diamond dealers working out of dark vaulted back offices at the other end (and James Allen and Blue Nile in between). But my mind always came back to Rice Village Diamonds when it came to a balance of quality, customer service, and value. Unfortunately, personal tragedies in my now-fiance's life delayed the proposal, but when I walked back in a year and a half later, Gil was incredibly patient in spending hours with me over several sessions not only unearthing some of the old models I'd seen more than a year earlier just based on description, but also showing me a large variety of stones across a wide swath of price and qaulity ranges. As later confirmed by my own independent research, Rice Village Diamonds is really picky with their stones, picking diamonds that over-perform their on-paper stats (Is/Js that face up white, eye-clean SIs, under-sizes that look larger face up, etc.) In the end, Gil worked with me to create the perfect custom ring inspired by a few existing pieces and guided by his expert advice. When I was tempted to pay a couple thousand more dollars to "upgrade" our chosen stone (on paper), he even dissuaded me as he thought the diamond we had previously chosen was the best value-for-performance, and already perfect for the ring. He wanted to do justice to the ring, even though it would be at the cost of reduced profit. Rice Village Diamonds is great because they are not just a store to buy stuff from -- they are a your jeweler, a trusted advisor in the old school sense.

Rice Village Diamonds was the first diamond store I went to and ultimately who I chose to build an engagement ring. Gil was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and is the reason I chose Rice Village Diamonds. He not only helped me through the process but his diamond selection was by far better then other places I went to so I was able to purchase a better diamond at the same price as other places were charging. Would 100% recommend Gil and Rice Village Diamonds.

Gil is in a league of his own. We went to a handful of jewelers when looking for an engagement ring, but the second we walked into RVD, we knew that we would make the purchase there. Love this place. I went engagement ring shopping to many different places in Houston and this place was the most professional and attentive. They also had very unique pieces that you could not find at other Jewelers. They treated my fiancé really well and worked with him on pricing and options. Very sweet people.
