Had to bring my mom for blood work because her vehicle was in the shop. She was on the second floor and my 5 year old and I were on the first floor in the lobby. The woman from the front desk approached and asked if we needed anything and then proceeded to say we had to go outside. No children allowed anywhere. There are no signs and none of the paperwork mentions that children are not permitted. Bugs, mosquitoes and humidity was very uncomfortable for my child and I.

Here we go again. I said a yr ago I would NEVER refer this hospital and my feelings have not changed. Coming here today was very unfortunate. My niece passed out at an event and the ambulance brought her to this hospital. We got here around 5pm and it is 10:54pm and we are not close to leaving. During my nieces incident she hit her head and they told us about a cat scan around 6pm it wasn't done until about 9:30pm. I don't understand why personnel cannot inform you as to why things take so long or move so slow especially when if you don't work here you wouldn't know the process. The best thing about this visit were 2 staff members Dominic, who was a nurse and fireman and Kat who made sure we got something to eat because non of us had eaten a meal. She also checked on us periodically and was so nice. I wish I could talk this message so you could here how frustrated we are. This does not make since. How can a supposed top notch hospital deliver such low/poor service. Please don't come here and don't bring your loved ones. It is 11:30pm and finally she is being discharged. Thank God she is good. The man has taken this IV out and blood is everywhere. He looked and said this is fine and put tape on a blood soaked gauze pad. He didn't even clean this stuff up. He left my niece in this. We are just leaving at 11:37pm. Again I say, don't come here.

If i could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. After my third night admitted on the 4th floor, I woke at midnight to ask for water. Instead, the nurse called two more nurses into my room to administer medication. The two nurses yelled and told me that I was not supposed to be out of bed then lied and said that the doctor ordered a tranquilizer to help me sleep. After the first dose, the nurse said that I needed another dose to make sure I went to sleep. The second intravenous dose was the overdose that damaged my internal organs. My heart went into cardiac arrest several times before they released me without treating me in the emergency room. It is now over 6 years later and although I have survived, my heart is swollen and enlarged and an abnormal cell production was found in my blood that is curable only by dialysis of undetermined frequency. I also have an early onset of sciatica that is believed to be caused by the injuries suffered from my visit to this hospital. Several cases of medical malpractice have been reported and investigated at this hospital. Avoid this hospital during any kind of routine or emergency care if at all possible.

Guess (at least for me) it's better to become your own doctor. I actually feel so much better creating my own therapy. After seeing all the reviews for these sick mills called "hospitals", what I have witnessed...is something straight from a horror movie. Sad this is what today's "healthcare" has come to. Incompetent "doctors", bottom of the barrel staff with rancid attitudes. The title is more important than the service. Personally after all the traumatic experiences I've had with institutions closer to prison...I now avoid being in the hospital. These are also one of the places that don't deliver quality service. Staff will belittle you below the ground itself, gaslight you, treat you worse than a dog. But their whole tune changes when you have (some form) of insurance. Health is not a top priority, but the money is. Deplorable... just deplorable 😕😐😣

I worked here from January 2022 through July 2023. Worked in the Central Scheduling department that months prior to me being hired, had 12 people from that department walk out at the same time, same day due to management (director & registration manager). This is a toxic place to work. Moral is low and employees are over-worked. It was said many times, "this ain't Burger King, you can't have it your way". If you care about your sanity at all, DO NOT WORK HERE!

This hospital service was mediocre . I went here to the emergency room for poison and their service was wack. I didn’t receive the proper care I needed. They was more focus on their coworkers singing then really seeing about their patients. This hospital need to do be with care of the patients that come in the emergency room. They assume I was having an anxiety attack and gave me a pill for that when I just told them that I had poison blown in my face. They told me they couldn’t do much for but orders me an inhaler. Lied to me about ordering me pain medication for my headache. The nurse here was very inexperienced. She didn’t know what she was doing but the doctor in charge let her get away with it. Please go to another hospital if you want great service because this hospital don’t care at all inside this emergency room.

Nursing on the sixth floor outstanding. The doctors in my care team except Dr. Washington. Were absolutely wonderful they came in explained everything and listened. I could not ask for a better team. The care given was absolutely wonderful and I am so very grateful. Even the food was very good. Every aspect even the cleaning staff was so professional. I am a former Vice president and 30 plus years in Healthcare. I love St Joseph hospital and you will always be my 1st choice.

I feel like I have done nearly everything possible to not write this review. My son had a surgery last summer at St. Joseph's. The doctors, nurses and attendants were professional, pleasant and my son's surgery went well. At the time of our arrival at St. Joseph's, we were asked to pay a deposit which we did not expect. The deposit was to cover any expenses unpaid by insurance. As I have never had any issue previously, we did so unquestioning. It has now been over 12 months since my son's surgery. Since month 4 after that work, we have been contacting the business office monthly or more to get a refund on the unused portion of our deposit. I have been promised callbacks by supervisors more times than I can count. We have been told for the last several months each time on our call that that billing department rep was submitting a refund request. And again, I would be promised each time that I would get a callback with info on "when" to expect the refund check to arrive. The amount of the refund is not even disputed; it is just not being released. A dispute with our insurance company over the exact amounts insurance would pay on one claim has been resolved for at least 4 months and St. Joseph's allowed that issue to drag for months prior to that. Based on our experience, feel free to have your procedure done by the participating doctors and staff at St. Joseph but if at all possible don't give them any money in advance. The amount being held un-refunded is not inconsequential. The company's billing department is non-responsive -- or misleading -- to this concern.

Horrible treatment and very unprofessional and inexperienced resident doctors and staffs. Pain medication was refused for patient and after having a second degree tear and even after continously reporting pain. After getting home from delivery, we ended up going to emergency room for pain. Thanks to negligent residents of St Joseph for putting us through this missery. I do want to mention that the patients also happened to be a nurse(RN) and the whole delivery process was very unprofessional. So if you are considering to get medical help, go anywhere else.

Excellent service.. Starting from the actual hospital tour, to delivering my baby, and all the way to being discharged I was amazed with such great service provided. Every one that took care of us while being there did it with such care, patience and professionalism. I felt peaceful, listened to, and at ease during my stay. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a wonderful experience. It takes a big heart to work in a hospital and this staff definitely has the Love for people and their careers.

The doctors did very little to help our family member’s situation. The communication they provide is absolute garbage. They dont even communicate with each other! We were given updates days late and aren’t even told what is going on. The staff was decent. Some of the nurses were great. However, we feel like the doctors could have done more. They didn’t communicate and may have caused our family member’s life. This place should be shut down.

Horrible experience at this hospital! I experienced a broken leg and foot so when I arrived there I assumed I would be given pain medication at least but it wasn’t until I continuously begged and cried that they gave me a pill . But the problem didn’t stop there when I got my temporary splint I could tell the nurse was inexperienced but I assumed they would do it right… 6 days later I had to go the hospital once again because the splint was causing me so much pain and swelling . I knew something was wrong at this hospital when they let me leave being completely immobile and without care instructions or any knowledge of what exactly I had broken even though I had been there for about 9-11 hrs . I feel much better now thanks too memorial Herman hospital and staff though . Anyways if your in need of medical assistance go anywhere else ,that splint I received cause me nothing but pain crying and sleepless nights. Edit: I went to my orthopedic surgeon and they did X-rays and said their was no fracture on my left foot like st Joseph’s stated just a sprain smh 🤦‍♀️

I called the intake if physiciatry dept. Mind you this my first time trying to help a friend of mine get help. I asked if they had a space available and the lady named Kathy was very rude and short with me. I called back to get her name. Oh no ma'am that not how it works over here!!!! U need to call 911 or a hospital somewhere else!! I was in shock before I could say anything else she hung up. If this is who you have in that dept. with that attitude.......U need to rethink your staffing!!

This was a horrible hospital I am 14 Years old and a long time ago my mom went to this "hospital" and they treated her terrible and made her heart health get bad. When she fell to the floor after taking a second dose of medication the doctors where cruel and said nothing didnt ask if she was okay and didn't call for help, instead walked out of the room and closed the door. This place deserves 0 stars. DO NOT GO HERE PLZ GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I PRAy FOR YALL. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

This is one of the worst hospitals you can go to in Houston. I’ve been here several times before when I was younger and they ALWAYS have super long wait times and no updates at all. The most recent and last time I went, I wasn’t even given a room through the emergency center or anything at all …. The doctor didn’t even bother to actually weigh me she literally guesstimated what she thought I weighed and put that in her system. She prescribed me some medication to treat the wound I had just for me to end up at another hospital 2 days later and then needing to do a surgical procedure that they should’ve done in the first place. They had the nerve to bill me in the amount of $800!!!! For what? For your doctor not doing her job correctly and not treating my wound as she should have? Hell no! GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE

I had wonderful experience giving birth to my daughter at St Joseph's. The doctors and nurses in the delivery room for really helpful. I came in and delivered my baby within in the hour. After I delivered we were both admitted and the level of care I received was absolutely excellent. My baby was born a couple of weeks early so she had some health issues and she was admitted to the NICU. I can't thank the nurses in the NICU enough. Tiffany, Michelle, Lana, Bean, Sarah, y'all are amazing.

From the point of check in to check out I had a great experience. Everyone so kind and helpful. The wait time was long but that was not a reflection of the hospital, I believe that it was due to my doctor. My procedure went well and it was a great transition. Everyone in the surgical was very friendly and each person that walked by greeted me with the exception of my doctor that was performing my procedure. 🤔 imagine that. The person that took me into the room where my procedure was done, was very kind. It was a pretty awesome experience. The recovery room nurses need some training on respect, kindness and politeness. My nurse never asked or informed me about the bathrooms. After having a colonoscopy I believe every patient needs to go to the bathroom due to the air and the pressure, she said just go ahead and pass gas don’t hold it in. It just seemed as though she wanted me out. Get dressed and out you go. No compassion or friendliness that I had experienced everywhere else in the hospital. Ideally that would cause a loss of one star but because my experience was so awesome I could not take away a star. It was a great experience!!

Very settling and comfortable before my procedure because of the calming treatment and service I was afforded before going through my treatment by the clerks, techs and especially the nurses and doctors. I had no fear of what was to come because of their care towards me.

My ER experience went smoothly. The entire ER staff and Radiology personnel are very professional and informative when it comes to your health. You will get a detailed explanation of your visit with instructions on what to do afterwards. If you received medicine, they'll give you detailed instruction of what to do and how to properly take your medication. It was by far the best ER visit I've ever had! My discharge instructions were detailed and clear too. The staff is what I really enjoyed about my visit because of their professional interaction with you. I saw they truly care. The ER doctor and nurse made sure I followed up with my PCP and to return if my problem persisted. Thank God it didn't. Thank you St. Joseph Medical Center for the smooth and informative ER visit.

Update: 10/4/23: I'm happy to say that the problem has been sorted out now. Thanks for getting it resolved. 10/2/23: My experience with St. Joseph Medical Center has been incredibly frustrating, and I want to share my disappointment to help others avoid similar problems. Here's the situation: St. Joseph Medical Center owed me a refund, which was supposed to be processed within 12 weeks after my insurance paid them. However, they didn't follow through on this promise. I tried reaching out to them multiple times, and each time they assured me that the refund would arrive within 2 weeks. But, just like before, it didn't happen. It's disheartening to see them repeatedly make commitments they can't keep. What's even more aggravating is their constant claim that they've informed their management about my issue, yet they don't seem to take any action to resolve it. It's like they're passing the problem along without taking responsibility. To make things worse, nobody from St. Joseph Medical Center ever bothered to call me back to address the refund issue. It's clear that they don't value their customers or their promises. In summary, my experience with St. Joseph Medical Center has been incredibly frustrating. They are holding onto my money, failing to issue a promised refund, and showing no respect for their customers. I strongly recommend considering other options for your medical needs. This level of unprofessionalism is simply unacceptable, and you deserve better service.

They offered me the best CARE ever, I was coming from 7 hrs waiting at LBJ ER and when I got to St. Joseph they assisted me and took me in, even when they did not had rooms they helped me at the waiting room, started my blood work, fluids and more. The help they offer to patients is nothing like I have seen anywhere. They did not let me leave until found out my health issue and got a diagnose. I dont wish to be in a hospital but if I ever need to go back this will be my only option... thanks Anastasia.. best nurse ever !!

Called while in a lot pain with food poisoning to see if I should come in. Really scared of hospitals but new I needed it. Have healthcare. Lady put me in hold for 6 minutes than berated me on if I had food poisoning and how I really knew. Than hung up on me when I wasn't able to reply because I was crying. Kind of just confirmed all my fears. I swear I'm trying to not be bias and keep reviewing if I was in the wrong or not. That took so much out of me at the time when I was already exhausted. It was pretty messed up.

From the first person you encounter at the security desk to some of the nurses, there’s little to no respect for patients or family members. They need to give their staff etiquette lessons on how to treat the people that keep them employed. Very disrespectful. It’s sad for the few “good “ employees since they get the same wrap when a complaint is posted. Only came here because the doctor doing the operation, works out of this hospital.

This place needs negative stars, was taken by ambulance when I broke my arm and elbow, my face had embedded gravel and a huge scrape on my forehead into my hairline. My ulna bone in my forearm was snapped in two, clearly apparent in X-ray. They never cleaned my face injuries, water did not work in restroom, clock and other equipment broken in room. After X-ray a man came in, claimed he was a doctor but had no ID and was wearing a winter coat with his hood up in August. Splinted my arm saying it wasn’t a bad break and didn’t need surgery and gave me Motrin for pain, mind you bones moved in my arm when it was moved. Computer system was down when he checked me out so no paper work. While he’s leading me out someone comes to take a wrist X-ray. This was a super creepy sorry excuse of a hospital. I was too afraid to say much. I left and went closer to home at another hospital who cleaned my face up and took more X-rays. Ended up staying at Ben Taub until I could have surgery it was my right arm which is my dominant arm. Never ever go to this hospital, it should be condemned, I can’t believe it’s open!!

Didn’t have a great experience here. My Nurse Angela who works in the ER was not helpful towards me and her bedside manner was very poor. I also felt like Dr. mike did not tell take my concerns seriously, nor did he tell me what type of injury I had. I felt like my concerns were not made a priority although I was also a patient. This ER will not be my choice ever again.

Every staff person was friendly and helpful. There was a mistake on my appointment date and the staff person fixed it immediately and set me up for my tests. Bad experience with security sergeant with dreads. Very insecure little fellow and stalks, harasses, taunts, over monitors you half the time. Other half the time he's making jokes about your predicament with medical staff. Try a different venue for health protection, mental and physical.

The waiting room staff are a bit unpleasant but I'm sympathetic bc of the way folks act in an emergency wait room--still, they could be a bit nicer. The doctors and the imaging tech were amazing! Great service once you're taken in. They were very thorough. My only complaint is that I got a written prescription for a medication and the pharmacy said the hospitals 'waiver' to send medications via paper prescription had expired and I had to get them to send it electronically. Well, I called several times and received absolutely no response.

Once I got through the long post holiday phone hold time they were able to schedule my appointment the next day. They have valet parking and they will validate your ticket. The process for checking in was easy and the waiting area clean and comfortable. Everyone I dealt with was kind and competent. They even escorted me from place to place and that really reduced my stress of ‘getting lost’. A great place and very well run.

Had surgery for bone fracture. My assigned nurse in the OR was polite and personable. Her associates were also attentive. My anesthesiologist introduced herself and explained the road ahead. Woke up in recovery room under two warm blankets. The nurse on duty greeted me. I am so happy I picked St Joseph's for my surgery. I will recommend to others.

The waiting room was hot. Felt like the heat was on. The staff give you attitude over anything and everything, clearly unhappy. I was suffocating in my mask because it was so hot. I ended up leaving to go somewhere else because there was no way I could wait in those conditions. Never in my life have I been in waiting room that was hot and humid. And can't blame the weather because it's not hot outside. Walking outside was a true breath of fresh air.

This is the worst place for a love one to have surgery. My Aunt is going through so much pain right now but instead of the staff helping her with normal ADLs she’s seen her nurse once and the lazy assistants are not listening to her. I’m getting so agitated and I’m so disgusted with this hospital. If I could rate them nothing I would they are not worth the one star.🥹please avoid the 5th floor
