Love the fact they have different events going on daily/weekly. I watched a movie on the big screen, laid out in a hammock and had a really good beer. I've also been on steak and Jazz Night which was another dope experience. nice place to hangout and chill.

What a great place to chill and enjoy music and friends. The beer is great! Service great! Jazz music was terrific. The food vendors near by is a perfect combination vibe to this interesting beer garden. From the swings to the frozen cocktails this place has it going on!

This place is awesome!!! They have a ton of craft beers on tap as well as craft cocktails. There's always events going on so there's no reason to be bored here. The atmosphere is super cool as well. There's always food on campus and it's next to a pizzeria you can just walk into. There's plenty of parking nearby as well and plenty of seating. There was also heaters for the cooler nights. The neon tree in the middle of the outdoor area is the highlight for sure.

I love the mixed drinks. They have Boom box Taco Food truck for Taco Tuesdays. Good spot to hangout and have fun. We were able to watch the Astros game. Doggies are welcome. Luigi pizzeria is so good too! It was not at all crowded on a Tuesday.

The first spot I visited in Houston, and it did not disappoint. A great vibe as soon as you walk through the door, the bartenders are ready and willing to serve, suggesting their favorites and, fan favorites. It's tough, too, because there is a wide array of beers to choose from. Lounging outside, there is enough space to spread out and carry on conversations without disturbing eachother. Even with families present, playing Jenga or deep in conversations, the space never felt crowded or out of control. I appreciated being able to bring food in to share as my friends and I gathered. It's definitely on my list to visit again.

Very large and open space with chairs, food stands, and a pizza shop nearby. Also had a large stage with occasional musical guests. Overall a fun place to just chill or for date night! Very festive, outdoor feeling. The parking however is terrible. Gets full really fast. Also, the place gets crowded and hot. Be prepared to come early.

Outside bar with lots of seating and cute hammocks. Love to go to cumbia night every second Friday of the month! The vibes and atmosphere are great!

Amazing atmosphere and music! Loved it and I don’t even drink. Everyone was having fun. That’s why people love Houston so much! Diversity and unity coming together!

i had a wonderful time here tonight! i went out with some friends and just stayed upstairs because it was a little quieter. tonight they had “the big lebowski” playing which was really cool to see everyone relaxing. there are alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks which switch up every couple of weeks i think. any way, if you want to have a good late night fun time with friends, this is a chill hang out spot! but watch out… sometimes there might be some paid entry days!!

Hidden joint in Houston. Great for a meet up with friends. Also fun even if you're solo. Food trucks, hammocks, drinks, and live music. It's a total vibe!

*** Savvy Little Spot with Great Food, Art, Drinks, and Shops *** Axelrad Beer Garden was a nice little treat when visiting Houston from south Florida. The staff here is friendly and the different food and shops are awesome. This place is like a marketplace where people set up their stations and sell their goods and services. They've got all different kinds of spots in here. Food, clothing, jewelry, art, plants, books, and plenty of other goods. Two of my favorite places here were Herban Frequency Vegan Burgers. These burgers will make you slap your momma. Like seriously that good! The other spot is called Colors of life Plant Co. They have beautiful plants and greenery that are reasonably priced. They happen to be very nice guys as well. Give Axelrad Beer Garden a try if you're in town. It's well worth it. Highly recommend. 5 - stars!

I had a fantastic time at the Axelrad Beer Garden. The atmosphere was incredible. The door attendant was helpful and friendly. The aesthetic was clever and chic. There was a place for everyone. Hammocks, benches, rooftop seating, and chairs with tables were evenly divided to prevent overcrowding. The DJ was okay. If you don't care about mixing or scratching, then you would think he was great. The lighting was perfect and the pizzeria being attached to the Beer Garden is a smart move. The pizza was fresh and delicious. I will definitely visit when I'm in Houston again.

If you want to enjoy a nice array of beers on tap while laying in a hammock and reading a book..... welcome to the best spot in town. Parking is incredibly easy and plenty of seating! There pizza is a must and they have a great beer selection. I personally love their IPA line up. So much open space for folks to roam around and just relax. As I mentioned from the start...their biggest unique offering is the number of hammocks.

Hugely popular, and fun beer garden atmosphere. Google maps isn't great about recognizing that it's a bar + food trucks when available. The other activities, like Halloween movies on the big screen in October, make it worth a visit.

Great place to chill, for sure one of my fav spots in Houston to have a drink and relax. They always have something good to hear and see for show. I really enjoy the variety of beers they offer and the food they serve. It is very child and dog friendly so that is a plus for me!

Cool little beer garden on the edge of midtown with a mostly outdoor setup and laid back vibe. One of the better spots in the area but needs to be finished in a few parts of the building and air conditioned upstairs.

Went to Axelrad for a Cowboy Bebop performance and the ambience was really great. Was a bit crowded, that’s why I gave them 4 stars. Also the service to buy drinks is really slow. Although, Tacos Orlando was GREAT, I loved those tacos. A bit expensive but I think for the vibes there was worth. Keep in mind that you might park your car in the street and in the night feels kinda insecure. I would go there again to see other shows :).

What a great project and place! The music is swell and the concept too. Pizza and bar around it, it's a cool place to hang out and enjoy! Recommendable

Great drinks and an amazing, bright and super fun atmosphere. The service was super fast and the Mangorada was amazing and fairly priced for bars and beer gardens in Houston.

We stopped by Axelrad for a beer, this place is much larger than we expected with a huge outdoor venue and food trucks in the back. The second floor patio overlooks the back and surprisingly enough there was a comedy show going on in one of the rooms upstairs.

This is such a fun hang out! They have a large selection on of beer 🍺! My favorite is as the 👑King of Kings’ Cake 👑! Definitely try that one if you like blonde beers. The hang out area is really cool— lots of hammock style swings for lounging, regular table/chairs, and other lounge style seating. They are attached to a pizza place— if you should find yourself in need of some snacks. Axelrad always has different music shows going on, so, make sure to keep up with their social medias for what’s coming next.

The place is not so bad, quirky & fun for the weekend. They have a small on site hibachi tent. Big beer collection & lots of craft & draft. Bar is fancy. I guess their cocktails must be nice but beer, eh! I checked reviews online for the most of it was below 4 out of 5. You get your id checked & provided a band for your visit. Nicely lit tree in the middle & lots of heated seating around it. Parking is outside & almost full.

I always have an absolutely fantastic time at Axelrad Beer Garden! This place is a hidden gem in the heart of the city. The ambiance is just perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or a casual date night. The spacious outdoor patio had hammocks, live music, and string lights creates a wonderful atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the beer selection. Axelrad offers an impressive array of craft beers on tap, and they're constantly rotating their offerings, so there's always something new to try. The staff is knowledgeable and can help you find the perfect brew to suit your taste. In short, Axelrad Beer Garden is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and anyone looking for a laid-back, welcoming spot to enjoy quality drinks and good company.

The vibe was really nice, I would recommend for a nice date idea. They have live bands and hammocks. Weird rule about not bringing pizzas into the seating area if it's bin a box. Even if they sell pizza 🤷🏿‍♀️. There cocktails are okay too

I had a great time at Axelrad Beer Garden with my friends. The place is cozy and relaxing, with a lot of hammocks to lounge in. They have a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The pizza from Luigi's Pizzeria next door is delicious and goes well with the drinks. They also have live music, games, and events almost every night. I especially enjoyed the Noche de Cumbia with Son Rompe Pera, a band from Mexico that plays cumbia with marimbas. It was a fun and lively night. I highly recommend Axelrad Beer Garden for anyone looking for a chill and enjoyable spot in Houston.

I love this venue for great beer, cool vibes and some fantastic food from, well, so many different vendors that change on a regular basis! The second floor patio is great for a quieter space and for people watching. It’s very hard not to have fun in this atmosphere, definitely a must visit for all Houstonians!

Axelrad is great for music, games, concerts, movies and community events. With their food truck and Luigi’s next door, plenty of patio space with benches, chairs, and swing, and projected shows and movies Axelrad has everything you need for a chill night. It’s cute for a date night, but also perfect for a night out with friends. You are give a wristband when you order drinks and you can only order two drinks at a time. So if you’re trying to order for the table bring someone with you. It’s common to be standing in a line at Axelrad, either for drinks or the bathroom. There is no food at Axelrad. You’ll have to order food from the food truck or from Luigi’s next door. I’ve always eaten from Luigi’s and the pizza is good. Made fresh to order you can either eat at their picnic tables under the awning or they will give you a plate to eat it at Axelrad, but no box. You can expect to pay $15 for a 12 inch pizza with eight slices. The wings are good at 8 for $11 and we got the Buffalo sauce, but they also have BBQ. The bathroom is worth the wait when you get inside. There’s a TV in the mirror and I never missed a second of the game. The bartenders are always great and there is an extensive menu of beers on tap. They have a rotating list of cocktails and frozen drinks which are always yummy, but not very strong. We did Last Call and Second Line. Axelrad is ADA accessible. Parking can be tricky.

Super cool place with fancy drinks, beer and wine (served in glass and not plastic cups, Bravo!). Food provided by nearby Pizzeria. Very comfortable seating. And best of all: Live Music

  • 5/5 Rommel C. 1 year ago on Google
It’s no wonder this place has such a high rating. The staff is super friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. Beer of the day is cheap and they surprise you with good options for it. Food trucks present often (that I know) but if you catch them on time, Luigi’s Pizzeria is right next door! Food truck featured in review: Muishii. The patio is very nice and spacious with plenty of seating. It can get busy though so be patient if you’d like to sit down!

Nice beer garden with a wide selection of craft beers and drinks. The back patio is inviting with numerous picnic tables and hammock chairs. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and several local artists and craft makers were setting up what looked to be a small local market. You can also bring in your own food or order a pizza from the neighboring Luigi's Pizza. We plan on returning this cool little beer garden in midtown and would recommend it if you're in the area.

Best thing about this place is the laid back vibe and friendly bartender service. First time here in about 2 years. Love that we can grab pizza and snacks next door. The food pairs well with the delicious mixed drinks, which are great for people who don't drink often. Not overpowering. I'm not big on outdoors but there is ample seating and a small amount of indoor space. The hammocks aren't the most sanitary but cool for those who don't mind. Pictured is my partner's Philly sandwich.

I had our engagement party here and we had such a great experience. We rented the balcony space and all of the guests loved the venue. We were able to book a month or so out for reasonable pricing. We could bring our own decor and we had a server to take our drinks who was amazing.. The dj and band that night really added to the vibe. Overall loved it and would recommend to others considering doing an event here.
