Words cannot express how amazingly Global and DIVERSE this place is!! I fell in love with this place four years ago when I came to Houston and ever since it is grown and grown and grown to a global marketplace full of every Middle Eastern country (this is their signature items) + a HUGE variety of items from Latin American + The less can go on and on and on!! Amazing Middle Eastern desserts, a fantastic bakery AND both hot & cold deli sections!!!

Unusual grocery store downtown. Loved visiting this location, they offer a wide variety of unique food and snacks. Lots of Mediterranean with plenty of vegetarian options. They have a great variety of hummus and pita bread. You can get real good food ready to eat for reasonable prices inside. Place a bit crowded and parking is difficult. They have their own space in a parking garage but it's usually full. I'd recommend walking.

Really neat place with many different speciality items! With so many different things to choose from it’s hard to decide what to get! Smorgasbord anyone? Sampler platter, please! We would have to come back a thousand times to try all the different goodies they have! And this is not the half of it!

This is a destination if you are in downtown. Highly recommend for dine in, take-out, many gift and grocery items. Pick up an insulated and zippered grocery bag at the register for $3.99. Free parking in garage for Phoencia customers.

I’d be devastated if they ever got rid of this place. Used to come here as kid and aw at all the food and items I’d never to see at the everyday HEB or Kroger. As an adult, I still do but with more purchasing power. I always love chatting with sandwich lady and buying the chocolate cake for my mom.

My favorite place for a quick meal. The options are endless and so varied. The grocery selection is also amazing with a variety of foods you can’t find elsewhere. It’s always at least one planned stop when I’m in town. The best, chef’s kiss!!! I also visit Discovery Green whenever I stop because it’s across the street. There is so much to within walking distance.

Did you know they have an upstairs? Yeah, the stairs are by the ice cream freezers in the candy section. It's mostly wine, olive oil, cookware, home goods (such as shampoo), and shelf-stable goods, but it's worth checking out too! They have various kinds of waters too, like rose water, orange blossom water, dill water, etc. Downstairs is where most of the goodness is though, such as their sweets counter, deli, meats and cheeses, and the brunt of their frozen foods. They have a super fascinating selection of world foods--like World Market's food section on steroids. My only complaint at the moment is that they seem to have items listed online that are not actually available in store, and I've found items in store that aren't listed online. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A downtown must stop for anyone visiting The H and locals too. Quite the store with a variety of delicious delights from all over the world. Salad and hot bars offer meals by the pound. Perfect for lunch which can be consumed in their dining area with wifi. Also there are varois counters for prepared meals. Don't forget the desserts. Rather be served? Then opt for the Mkt Bar with a full menu including adult libations. Or, one can just wonder around to absorb two stories of delicacies. Super friendly staff who know their stuff. Easy indoor parking. Enjoy 😉

Very unprofessional customer service! They overcharged me and did not want to adjust the price. Very rude! Be careful many items are with expired dates. I thought this store has great international item selection, however that is just a facade.

This is a great hidden gem located in downtown surrounded by a mall, huge buildings. This supermarket has ample variety of things, groceries, bakery items & delicacies, sushi, wine, beers, etc, etc, etc. There is also an eating joint located towards the corner where you can get shawarma sandwiches, etc that are freshly sliced and prepared. We tried different shawarmas twice and thoroughly enjoyed the taste. They also have a good enough seating area located towards the front of the store. Staff is friendly & helpful. The store is super clean and well kept. Must visit the tiny gem if you are visiting downtown, will definitely find something that suits your liking.

Great food. Great service. We had the Chicken Sandwich and Austin City Burger with fries. Followed Baklava with ice cream. Excellent meal before an Astros game. I look forward to going back and bringing home some stuff from the market.

Phoenicia is awesome - especially since my partner is Eastern European. We find lots of his favorite foods from back home. Just look at this huge selection of Ajver! Sadly, they do not sell the Macedonian version but I found a recipe and make it myself. There is always a delicious new food or treat to try at Phoenicia. The selection is constantly changing too. Definitely a must-visit store.

I love Phoenicia's dessert section! I would love to have a Phoenicia in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Totally worth the calories and price. My favorites are the crème brûlée, pistachio baklava and Turkish delight.

My husband has been coming here since he was a kid and started bringing me here when we got married. It's a very nice clean and organized store. Plenty of different food to try. My husband usual brings me here for lunch and the food has always been great. The price is decent as well. Deserts are fresh and good is made to order. Variety of drinks and snacks. There's also a small eating area. The parking isn't very appealing and it takes a couple rounds around the garage to find a spot that isn't reserved. But overall a great place to shop. No place like this at all.

Loved visiting this establishment! They have a variety of products and fresh foods. You can find some traditional Lebanese food/drinks here - even imported ones!

Shout out to Julie in the bakery section! She is always friendly and helpful. This is a specialty grocery store in downtown Houston. It's the only one in downtown, so if you are staying in the area and need to pick up a few items, this is your place. It is a safe and upscale store with a cool vibe. They have hot and cold prepared food sections and an upstairs (the stairs can be hard to find if you aren't paying attention. The MKT bar and restaurant is part of the store and has really good food. They will even let you order a glass of wine to enjoy while you shop. You can get in and out quickly or linger and enjoy your shopping experience.

Great variety, good salad balar and hot food options. The portions are good and I got the 2 meats with 3 sides and its $13.99 so good value. A good option instead of eating at the convention center or the food trucks there. It's barely a 10 minute walk from the convention center.

Great place, perfect small grocery store if you live in DT HTX. Browsed and ate a Chicken Shawarma along with Vegetables and Rice, good filling meal it a bit like a mini Whole Foods, steam table and all. Lots of ready to eat meals. I will go back again.

I often visit Phoenicia Specialty Foods in downtown Houston, and it was an exceptional experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, the convenience of its location cannot be overstated. To add to the experience, there are plenty of free parking spots available in the adjacent garage, which is a rare luxury in such a bustling downtown area. The store brings together an incredible array of international food, majorly showcasing the diverse and rich flavors of the Middle East, from countries like Armenia, Turkey, Lebanon, and more. The quality of the produce is outstanding - fresh, aromatic, and evidently sourced with a commitment to authenticity. As for the pricing, it's slightly on the higher end, but given the uniqueness and variety of the items - many of which are imported - the cost is justifiable. Shopping here feels like embarking on a culinary voyage, giving us a taste of far-off lands without leaving the city. Phoenicia is more than just a store; it's an experience - one that food enthusiasts and explorers should not miss. Whether you're searching for hard-to-find international ingredients or seeking a culinary adventure, Phoenicia in downtown Houston should definitely be on your list.

Went for the first time this week and it was amazing! The food was tasty and the customer service was top tier. A lady from the bakery helped us find some pita bread and the cashiers were super friendly! Definitely will be back to try more things!

Probably one of the coolest grocery stores I’ve ever been in. Had an overall Mediterranean vibe to it. Lots of specialty products that you probably can’t see anywhere else. Great staff there’s even a restaurant in the back with live music if you’re into that… pretty cool bakery as well. Very creative and one-of-a-kind. Grocery store. Will definitely stop in again when in the downtown area.

This place is amazing!!! They have so much selection. Ready cold items, dessert section, littl coffee bar. Tons of trinkets and cooking items, spices teas coffees and food you can’t find anywhere else. Our favorite part was the warm fresh cooked section, the food is really good but the gentleman running it in black glasses is the best! Superb service!!

Really nice and cool grocery store. Tons of great options from sweets to charcuterie boards and everything in between. The only hassle is parking. They have a ton of fresh pastries to choose from as well as cooked food/salad bar.

We love Phoenicia! Everyone is so friendly and they keep it very clean. The prepped food is great and they have a great wine selection for decent prices. It became dangerous when they started stocking my husband’s favorite ice cream! The bakery is great too and we love the tres leches cheesecake. I love having a quick in town place to get fresh produce.

Great variety of specialty foods, including all of the most important things like wine, chocolate, coffee, cheese, cured meats, baked goods, pickled food, etc. The Iberico Chorizo from Spain is delicious and authentic. The wine selection includes varieties from Israel, Lebanon, Georgia, Albania, Slovenia, Maldova, Uruguay, Bulgaria, South Africa, and Mexico as well as the usual appellations from France, Germany, Italy, etc. We also found Caperberries, which we haven't been able to find in any of our usual markets. They have a great selection of olives, olive oils, vinegars, etc. Hot meals ranging from pizza to Salman were available. The baked goods include varieties of baklava and other middle eastern delights.

Such a nice specialty grocery store! The staff sre super helpful and seem to enjoy working there. The prices on some items are kind of high so I'd only grab things I couldn't find elsewhere. The produce was fresh and delicious looking. Such a great selection of cheeses, nuts, tea, and coffee! I would deffenetly recommend this to anyone looking for great quality goods.

I could write a novel on Phoenicia, that’s how much I love this place. When I first walked into this store in 2014/2015, I had never had a grocer experience that rivaled. Tbh, I have not had an experience similar since. The selection and variety of pallets and options in this store is unparalleled. I ate Phoenicia for lunch for almost three years straight and could continue. The salt and pepper salmon, the quinoa, tuna, orzo, salad bar, soup, chili, gyro, baklava, chips galore, etc. I never get bored of the food options and would get a new bottle of wine from a different part of the world every week. I love this place. It’s the best place to eat in downtown. And the staff is always the most friendly and helpful folks you’ll meet.

I enjoy visiting Phoenicia whenever I travel to Houston for work. They have a large variety of groceries, prepared foods, cooking supplies, etc.. It's a great place to pick up lunch or dinner if you're visiting. A wide range of prepared foods and a pleasant place to browse and shop.

Foodie paradise! An amazing gourmet food store with a strong Middle Eastern focus. The quality and variety of sweets and bakery items is to die for, with a range of baklava and many other great things to try. The prepared food items, such as the tabouleh and muhmara, are also worth trying. Pretty decent prices too
