What a great addition to The Museum of Fine Arts! Had the pleasure to attend the soft opening and the food is delicious! The Salmon was delicious and flaky interior, as a side dish I had the Roasted Lone Star Mushrooms and it was cooked to perfection! Let’s talk about desserts: there are many exquisite pastries to explore there. The quality is outstanding and I can’t wait to go back to try the homemade ice cream as well. The team is very friendly and attentive. Strongly recommend!

Dropped in to the cafe before a visit to the museum because we read so many amazing things about this place and we we're very disappointed. We ordered the tomato soup, chicken sandwich, cesar salad, and lemon tart for approx $50. The tomato soup was forgettable but edible. The chicken sandwich was sparce on the chicken, flavorless, and it tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The cesar salad came without dressing and when we asked for dressing they gave us some weird ranch concoction. The lemon tart was not great. For us, this place did not have a single "pro".

Where do I start, prices are way too high as they are exploiting the people coming in to the museum. Quality not so good. I got the Margherita pizza which was good but too oily and over priced for a small street style piece. Also the carrot cake was awful. Way tooo much turmeric, which I doubt any carrot cake recipe even requires it! And the cream cheese was plasticky and the cake was dry and waaayyyyy too over priced so save your money on that.

This cafe and bakery is located inside the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. First the positives: It’s a gorgeous space, well thought out and modern. We ordered some sweets: chocolate cake, summer eclair and snickerdoodle cookie. The chocolate cake was good: moist and rich. The cookie was not my favorite. The ciabatta sandwiches and pizzas looked delicious - looking forward to trying them next time.

Honestly I got to have lots of different feedback from other people that had the food but the food at the cafe was so expensive It was $10.82 for a coffee and a croissant. Which they got they coffee wrong the first time but were very glad to remake. Other people said the salad was ok, the Ceasars salad had no caesar dressing Though. Very expensive prices and not many items choices, though I do understand that it is in a museum.

I think the cafe service should be reimagined to take into consideration the volume of guests. Perhaps ordering stations or at least two lines could help. The display menu did not exactly match offerings. Food quality was good and there was just enough seating for our party. Overall a nice option for a museum visit. Prices are like theme park attraction level. I wish it were a bit more affordable for students to make museum going more accessible.

Good pastry. Loved the ice cream (I tried s’mores and guava maria) but it’s a bit pricey at $6 a scoop and $8 two scoop. Clean and bright space. Nice atmosphere but a bit hectic. Perfect as a cafe for after visiting the museum. Would love to be back and try out the savoury dishes.

Went to this café located inside Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Nice place, the main attraction are desserts beautifully crafted. The rest of the food options were exposed directly to the air conditioned so they didn’t look palatable.

Pretty good and hearty spaghetti that paired nicely with a creamy, tomato soup. I must admit, its awesome taste and the actual authenticity of its name is why I can recommend this place. Now I must admit I didn’t quite finish my meal due to the fact that it was such nice portion sizes. I give this place 10/10

3.5-4/5 stars. Place is decent and you can get a quick bite to eat or a coffee or some ice cream/gelato or pastries if at the museum. The pizza isn’t fresh is was sitting out for a while - they quickly heat it up when you order. The orzo pasta was quite bland. Mushroom sandwich was ok - was a cold sandwich and was also dry and somewhat bland. Butternut squash soup was by far the best out of what we tried. This is plenty of space to sit.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Good casual food and I’d recommend the margherita focaccia.

Nestled amongst stimulating and amazing art in the new wing of Museum of Fine Arts Houston is the Leonelli Café, a bastion for pastries, coffee, and café style food to satiate the hungry masses coming to the museum. The café is a gargantuan upgrade from the previous café located in the basement. The café’s theme is Italian, however, the food shelves contain scrumptious pastries including tarts, cookies, and other finger food delicacies. The café also contains certain main course meals including salads, pizzas, soups, and seafood options. Coffee options also abound. Finally, after you’ve had your fill with the savory, you can finish your meal with gelato, with the likes of unique stracciatella, guava, or the traditional chocolate, cookies and cream, and vanilla. The café has indoor seating with ceiling length windows on one side which overlook the street and the two original buildings across the street. The café is a much welcome addition to the museum and gives visitors options for both quick yet savory options.

One of the best museum cafe’s. Cafe had many options including lunch and desserts . I had this chicken salad sandwich made fresh - it was a light enough meal to give me energy to see more of the museum. The cafe had many other options such as salads, pasta, and many other sandwich items. Recommend: I would recommend a table be left open/ have a wheelchair symbol on it reserved for people who use them.

We ordered pizza and soup and both were cold. The chicken sandwich was mostly bread. There were no refills on tea which was $3.50. We barely got the last bite in our mouth and they picked up our plates. None of this is acceptable for a $20 lunch per person.

Wonderful way to end your day at the MFA. Don’t let the fan ones of this place fool you: it’s affordable and welcoming to people of all ages. Grab a hot slice of pizza and finish it with a ball of gelato. Watch the people go by on the street and look up and the beautiful ceiling. Well worth the visit!

Beautiful coffee with delicious food! I took the best eclair I’ve ever tasted. It had tiramisu cream inside. I also try the raspberry one, it was very good too. Nice place to work or study, good light inside and open space.

A true Houston hidden gem! The pastries and patisserie are some of the best one ive had in Houston. The tiramisu is delicious and the coffee is expert! Great for a quick pick-me-up while walking the fine art buildings.

This bistro is worth your time even if you're not going riders exhibit small bites done right .coolam dance great food. In the tunnel contacting the various buildings that comprise MFAH. It would be a first choice anywhere. Vegan choices are limited but they are there. Counter service with a menu as self-service is prompt and friendly the prices are what you except from this level of bistro

Lovely cafe in MFAH. I enjoy the ability to swing in during a visit. I can remember when the old cafe was down where the library is at Beck. The Leonelli has a great selection and friendly service. Our lunch was luke warm but it was still an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is chill and inviting. Perfect stop during a long visit of art appreciation.

Wandered in mid-afternoon after visiting the art gallery across the street...what a delight! The café was bright and airy, and spotlessly clean. The portions on the vegetable platter were generous, the plate looked beautiful, the flavors were creative and, oh so delicious. An added surprise was discovering electrical outlets under the table along the window allowing me to recharge my cell phone - so welcome after a day navigating to the museum, listening to audio tours and, of course, taking photos. Elizabeth was especially endearing as she graciously accommodated my peculiar food restrictions. Couldn't eat the sweet treats, but enjoyed drooling over them longingly.

This place is great to stop and get a bite to eat before or after visiting the art museum. I came before to grab a snack & an iced coffee and everything was great. I even stayed a bit to read because of how bright it is there. Loved it and would come again!

We come to this real Fine Dining cafe every time when visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Amazing service and delightful food! I recommend it to everyone who is in the area to try. If you are up for a sandwich do not hesitate to ask to toast it, that makes a huge difference. If you like to have mode than one dish try combos.
