We've been going to Beshoffs for years now and have experienced its downfall in quality. Fish is good but the portion of chips is not as much anymore (especially on a busy day!). But today is the day that does it for me. I open the fish and chips we ordered with no chips on one of the order. Very disappointing. Edit: @Owner In fairness, I don't think any "investigation" will solve this issue. If you guys can have a look from a quality management perspective to delivery quality fish and chips as before. That would great! I don't think I'm the only one who thinks the same of Beshoff's these days based on the reviews.

Fantastic food!!! We tried the smoked hake and it was outstanding. If you're really hungry you don't need to share but portions are big so sharing is easy. No where to sit other than in the park but it was nice out so no problem. Definitely get lots of napkins!!

I used to love to come here! Bring tourists here all the time but the last few times I left disappointed! They didn't mention when I ordered that there is no tartar sauce nor mayo, only ketchup, which I won't eat my fish with, sorry!! In fairness she asked me if i wanted my money back. By that time Ive waited way too long for my food, so my hungry kid in the car wouldn't have liked. My cod couldnt be any smaller!! Also, there is never any calamari either. Needs to go back in time when they actually cared about costumers!! Only than I will return!

Long queue to place an order for Fish n Chips...but the wait was worth it. Sat on a bench in front of the sea and enjoyed one of the best Fish n Chips...surrounded by squawking seagulls.

Food was the good ol’ regular fish and chips. Nothing special in my opinion, but the fish is definitely fresh with the right amount of batter👌🏼 Attached the menu and receipt for itinerary planning for those who are travelling. Note that place is only for TAKEAWAY, no dine in. I’ve observed flocks of seagulls waiting outside of the shop and attacking those eating out, so do find a further eating place while bracing the cold wind. P.S. Forgotten to take my drinks/juice at the fridge on the left of the shop after collecting my order so don’t make the same mistake I did.

This is a take away fish and chips joint found on the west end of Harbour Rd in Howth. I rented a small airb&b in the area and this place was recommended. I had gotten in late and was tired, hungry, and ready to relax. I stepped through the large entrance, and was instantly confronted with the glorious smell of batter fried cod! Was this the best fish & chips I have ever had… No, and I wasn’t anticipating such. But I wouldn’t hesitate to put them into rotation. Nice, crispy and generous portions. Maybe a little light on tartar sauce, but I managed. Even gave me some complimentary mushy peas. Delicious meal. Great first meal in Dublin/Howth.

Long queue but totally worth it. Definitely better than the other fish and chips I’ve tried. The fish was fresh and perfect texture- not dry.

Brilliant beer batter fish! Perfectly done. The staff is very friendly. I took off the last star because the chips were a bit bland they should be fried a little darker and possibly salted.

The best place to eat fish and chips in Ireland, the fish here is so fresh and it’s very tasty. I went there on a bank holiday and the queue was huge. We tried the COD and we really loved it.

The best fish and chips my wife and I have had in our 10 days in Ireland. We've had it in Killarney and County Clare, but Beshoff Bros in Howth wins. Wife got the cod and I got the haddock. Both very delicious.

Incredibly delicious fish n' chips with large portions that fed both myself and my boyfriend for EUR 12.50. Can't go wrong with the classic cod! Fish was fresh, chips were abundant, and the batter was fried to perfection. Keep in mind, this is take-out only but you can easily find a bench nearby to marvel at the harbour and seagulls!

By far, hands down, the best fried cod and handmade fries I’ve ever had. So tasty and succulent The vinegar that they sprinkle on the ready fish and chips adds the perfect acidity and the powdered salt is a perfect addition as is their perfect tartare sauce. Huge portion. I salivate just reminiscing. It’s a take out place so are across the street at the harbour. Just watch out for the vicious sea gulls who have no inhibitions against diving in to the box with their breaks to steal some 🐠…

I guess it is quite good but the Fish I Ordered was a bit to oily and also the staff gave me wrong sauce. The best thing about this place is probably value-for-money. You can get fish and chips for about 11€ and the meal size is huge.

This was our first fish and chips stop in Ireland. It was a rainy day so we brought our fish and chips to our car since there was not space to eat-in. It was an okay fish and chips in my opinion, I should have brought salt and vinegar packets into the car to add some extra flavour. The portion size was great for the price.

Pretty good fish and chips. Don't eat it in the park across the way because the tourist feed the seagulls and there a menace. Go out on the wall and eat it.

I got fish with my batter. The Haddock was tiny and covered in thick batter. The best thing about the meal were the chips. I have had much better elsewhere.

It is must try in Howth. Beshoff Bros provides its customers with the tastiest, highest-quality fish n’ chips in Dublin. They provide their customers with fresh fish from the cold clean waters of the North Atlantic and their fresh potato ‘Real Chips’ are grown by environmentally-friendly farmers using first-class agricultural practices. They only use the best vegetable oil available and a range of super-thin batter to ensure the tastiest and healthiest fish n’ chips. Their story begins in 1905, on the sea-washed decks of the Battleship ‘Potemkin,’ when Ivan Beshoff first set sail with the famous Russian Imperial Tsarist fleet. Eight years later he arrived in Dublin and began building what, by 1939, would be the origin of a legacy that has so far spanned three generations, Beshoff Bros fish n’chips. Be careful eating outside, as hungry seagulls can steal it from your box or hands.

We stopped by here for some lunch. Very tasty cod and chips which were very crispy and fresh. The staff were a bit lackluster and unfriendly. The drinks were warm as well even though I got it out the fridge. Overall, I would go back for the yummy fish and chips.

Fast and efficient. The queue was long but it went by pretty quickly. The frying on both the fish and the chips was pretty good. Portion is abundant (you get what you pay for). If you're in Howth, just grab a portion of fish and chips and go eat it by the sea and relax.

Cute family fish&chip shop for take away. Chips are more on the dry side but the fish makes up for it! Amazingly fresh and crunchy. Queue might seem long but it moves really fast!

Heard about this place all over TikTok and social media so we knew we had to visit. Just be prepared that if you are going to go that the queue will stretch for miles and that you could be waiting for upwards of a half hour from getting in line to receiving your food. The staff are friendly and the menu isn’t extensive so it isn’t hard to know what you want - obviously the most iconic dish being the fish and chips cod with salt and vinegar and tartar sauce - but don’t be afraid to try the other things on their menu as well. We got one meal to share and two drinks which came to €16 and if you’re not particularly hungry one meal should be enough for two. The chips… weren’t great they were a bit soggy and not were great overall but the fish was delicious. The batter was crispy and the fish inside was falling apart with how soft and juicy it was. I’d say it wasn’t totally worth it waiting in line for it but if you happen to come on an off peak day when it isn’t so busy definitely stop by

Not bad. We were surprised by the fact that the most rated restaurant for fish and chips in Howth is a take away. You better not go in rush hour because you could find a great queue. The fish and chips were great, I liked the breaded but I expected it cruchy. The size of the portion is good, big enough. Good to try once.

The food was delicious. Thank you Emmitt for making me eat the oysters, it truly was a taste of the sea.
