Sitting comfortably on an outcrop of rock between the Labe and Orlice Rivers, Hradec Kralove’s hilltop Old Town allows for spectacular views from a number of lookout points that skirt around its perimeter. Right behind the Jesuit College on Velke namesti, a flight of steps called Gocarovo schodiste climbs down to the Jizni terasy, a small leafy terrace that looms over the Orlice River and Park Jiraskovy. The steps dip further down to the ring road from where Park Jiraskovy is easily accessible. Dating back to the times when Hradec Kralove was just a fortress town purposely built to guard the Bohemian lands from Silesia, Park Jiraskovy is an ancient place as can be witnessed from remnants of old walls that arise out of the greenery. Scores of trees in the park are old and overgrown and so provide full shade over the pathways. The ambience is ideal for ducks and squirrels, both of which seem to have infested the out-of-the-way areas. A summer playground for children and a relaxation spot for adults, Park Jiraskovy is lively all day long. In the morning, you’ll never be alone because without fail, schoolchildren come here for on-the-spot lessons in natural sciences or for some sort of organized performance. Summer evenings are characterized by a variety of music concerts or cinematic shows for adults. Saturday is wedding day in Hradec Kralove. Be here in the evening to meet newly-weds posing for photographs on the extreme edge of the park, a spot perched over by a small symbolic statue (called Lovers) of a couple engaged in a love pose. Don’t leave the park before you go around the small but superb rose garden. Nearby amidst thick foliage is the wooden Orthodox Church of St Nicholas. Recently restored to its former glory, it is a sight that should not be missed.

Its a bit loud from the traffic and the graffiti on the bridge when you see the rivers meet is not nice to see.

Beautiful, well kept park with an old wooden church and also a few remains of fortifications. Possibility to feed animals (ducks, nutrias) though the city does not like it. :-) The park is closed at night.

Beautiful park in the downtown of Hradec Králové. Its surrounded by two rivers Orlice and Labe. At the end of the park the two rivers meet into one. It's very well landscaped. There's also a nice playground for children.

It felt really calm there. The garden was beatiful. The wooden temple is worth a sight to see. I recommend it to those, who would like taking a long relaxing walk near the centre of Hradec Kralove.

Beautiful park on confluence of rivers Labe and Orlice. Former officers park from times when Hradec Kralove was a fortress. There are still some remnants of fortifications in the park. Inside there is also only orthodox church in Hradec. Wooden St. Nicolas church. Almost at the edge of the park, near confluence there is small sculpture called "Lovers" symbolising two rivers becoming one as two persons are engaged in love pose.

😠 The place is really small , it is actually 1 large tank, 1 room with fish skulls and cafeteria. Maybe it would be fine for a quarter of the price. We paid 500,- Kc (2 adults, 2 children) and it is really not worth it. For this money you can go to ZOO and spend whole day there.

👍👍 A great indoor play park for kidd. The food is pretty unhealthy and service is very slow. But the wifi is fast at 31 Mbps and I'll forgive them the food as kids love the play park.
