Very enjoyable date night. Food was great. We wanted to try some scotch but are not very knowledgeable. Staff was great in guiding us to a great flight to try and it was very enjoyable. Live music made the night perfect.

We went on a Wednesday to celebrate our anniversary. Drinks were fantastic, and a number of tasty options to nibble on. Live jazz was a nice touch.

The bar itself has a great ambience. Very cozy and warm vibe. The selection of scotch that they offer is great and there is definitely something to satisfy everyone's tastebud. The food portions are good but the selection is limited. This is understandable as they focus on their scotches rather than give a full restaurant experience. The staff who attended to our group knew about the scotches on offer, the taste pallet and helped us make the right choice! The flight schedule is brilliant, the pairings of the whiskies were perfect. Overall, a great bar and one of kind experience!

Had an amazing time here and was part of a bachelor party. The gentlemen serving us was amazing and they had a great variety of scotch, and other drinks for non-scotch drinkers. Would definitely return.

Good, hot coffee but lose points because they refuse to take cash for some unknown reason. Cashier was friendly, even with my grumblings about the policy.

This place is a hidden gem! It is tucked away between two neighborhoods. I read the reviews and decided to try it out on a Saturday night. It is amazing!! The vibe is warm and cozy. The staff are amazing and so knowledgeable. The live music was stellar! It was jazz, but they played modern and other music. I came alone and was so comfortable at the bar. The whole place was so warm and inviting! I was impressed that they even had a non alcoholic menu. Next time I’ll have to try the food. I will definitely come back!! Thank you!

I really enjoyed the ambience and the ability to taste scotches I would not purchase otherwise. Each flight came with the cards identifying the scotch and tasting notes. Just wish the tasting notes weren't colour coded. It was hard to figure out in the mood lighting. I also would have liked if there was more information on each card (like the stuff on the menu and even cost of a bottle). I appreciated the inclusion of mocktails on the menu as well. Those were delicious and a wonderful option to have. All menu items clearly indicated if they were gluten free or vegan as well.

I'm not a scotch drinker, but it's a nice place for a night out. Lovely live music, and a fun atmosphere. Servers seems a bit busy and preoccupied. Plenty of drink options (scotch primarily, but also beer, wine, non-alcoholic) but definitely on the fancier (pricier) end. Better for small sharing plate with a drink than a full dinner (small portions).

Came for the music, stayed for the scotch, and the great atmosphere. Patrick is a delightfully nonpretentious guru of Scotch and readily shared his knowledge to provide an excellent tasting experience. The music, atmosphere, and service were fantastic. A hidden gem and a breath of fresh air in Ottawa.

Such a chill and swanky vibe! Literally a hole in the wall and not what I was expecting but in a great way! Definitely lives up to its chill lounge jazz atmosphere. Lots of options for scotch and drinks. Need a night cap— this is now my go to spot! Missed the live jazz band but will definitely be back. Worth the visit!

Saw the Ed Lister show last night (post-dinner) and they were fabulous. What a treat to hear real jazz in Ottawa. The bar is a gem with a great atmosphere. My only tip would be to slightly dim the lights more during the performance. Otherwise a great night out.

We had the pleasure of having Patrick guide us through a scotch tasting journey. An amazing event that I will definitely do again! Thanks Patrick, for hosting the best evening out we have had in a long time!

Had a great time listening to a jazz trio led by the great @sagereynolds. Really admire the Scotch tasting led by Patrick. Very impressive knowledge and guidance. Well worth a regular visit!

GREAT PLACE!! We went there with family including my 1 year old son and they were wonderful to make sure we had space for the stroller and let him play on the stage. The food was fantastic, especially the mushroom on toast dish....we ended up ordering a second one!! And of course the scotch! I never knew scotch was so versatile! Make a reservation now!

Really enjoyed the band and the ambience. However, our server neglected to check up on us throughout the night and only came when we called her. The halloumi sticks were way too salty and when we expressed this to our server she charged us for the substitution in addition. Overall, the atmosphere is great but unfortunately our service did not match it.

Cozy local lounge with an overwhelming offering of …. Scotch, of course! For my first foray, I chose the “Unpronounceables Flight” which I enhanced my experience of the live jazz trio playing tonight. A limited (good thing), but creative menu which enticed me to try the lamb shepherd’s pie. Delicious, and a hearty helping to tame the tiger in the tank. Decor combines a lot of classic modern, but comfortable furniture and lighting. Obviously had a terrible experience and never going back…..😉

When they say lounge, they mean lounge. Plan for a meal or entertainment elsewhere on date night. Great to relax and try scotch from standard to obscure distilleries. Not many risky/rare bottles though. Cocktails are all scotch as well. If you have the pallet for scotch this is definitely the place for you. If you are a sommelier you might find the selection very safe. Unfortunately, we could not try a lot because most bottles from the flights were sold out - no subs. Not much room for other interests though. We tried the bar nuts as it was the only food available. For the price I was hoping for a better roast. The small space makes it very loud and you can hear all the conversations. Hopefully a second visit with more specific intentions will produce a better experience. Sláinte!

We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the entertainment was excellent and truly made the evening stand out. The meat and cheese board was delicious however, at $45 we felt it was a little over priced. The Charlie's cheeseburger was very tasty however, the burger itself was small, and served with a handful of kettle chips.... I expected better for a $22 price tag. We will definitely visit again for the music and ambiance.

Great experience for my first visit, atmosphere was very enjoyable. Great live band. Did not have a chance to enjoy any of the scotch or whiskey as I was the designated driver but from what my friends told me they had quite a few enjoyable options. The non alcoholic drink options were quite lovely and their food choices were quite tasty. I highly recommend the smores tart, very good way to finish off the evening.

Great spot for a date, or night out with friends. I enjoyed the scotch cocktails and live jazz band. The bartender was very knowledgeable about scotch, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The tiramisu was delicious. I look forward to checking out more events and live music at the Montgomery.

Very warm ambience and decor. Great place to appreciate scotch and expand one's palette. Also enjoyed the live jazz. Wonderful way to end a business trip in Ottawa.
