The Latin Sparks festival puts on one of the biggest block parties on the province. I love the dancing and the food vendors. I have for the last three years and had a wonderful time. All of the preformers are excellent and provide the ultimate dancing experience for those who attend. They also generously donate to some of the charities I volunteer for throughout the city.

I had such a great time! The dance performances were my favourite, they kept the crowd dancing all night. Lots of great music and drinks too. They even have free dance lessons. I loved the VIP area since there aren't any lines and they have wonderful staff. I'll definitely be back next year!

Latin sparks is without a doubt my favorite event of the year! The organizers always surprise me with something unique and exciting each time around - 2-3 DJs, dancers, entertainers, food, drinks and a unique venue. It's about time ottawa hosts an event like this !!

Latin Sparks!!! Wow I felt as though I was back home in Peru! The festival brought such a raw and contagious energy. Definitely nothing like any other Latin event I’ve attended in Ottawa, or even Canada. You’re dancing salsa outside in the summer heat with thousands of Canadians from all over the world. A great party and a truly unique and memorable experience. Thank you SO much for putting this event together. Hope you keep it year after year.

A seriously epic experience!! Latin Sparks has been so much fun year after year, and it just keeps getting bigger and better!! The music keeps you dancing all night long, like like you're on the streets of Havana! The food stalls are such a cultural experience, and beverage stalls keep you hydrated refreshed and joyful! :) If you can't dance salsa as a guy, don't worry, your bros got your back with lessons prior to full out partying, and if you can't dance as a girl, also don't worry because there are plenty of guys to take the lead and show you how! :) Great ice-breaker! :) Can't wait for the summer!

Visited with 3 others from Albany NY. It was an exceptional event. The lines got exceptionally long for both food and the bathroom otherwise it would have been a perfect 5 Stars from me.

Hi, I took pictures on site and people seemed to enjoy themselves. It was fun but for next year; I would suggest that the organizer allow people to dance on the concrete ground instead of on the grass during the evening. Therefore, the musician could do their show on the other stage. Thank you. Great fun! 👍

The best thing in Ottawa!!! I look forward to this festival every year and never miss it. People of all ages and backgrounds having so much fun and food outdoors is a unique experience. Always so clean and organized I am so impressed!! THE EVENT OF THE YEAR 🎉💃🏽

This was my first year attending the festival. The day events are really nice it’s a nice fun family thing to do, however the night dance party is where the vibe is truly at. I had so much fun. Will be back next year.

I attended my first Latin Sparks this year and was really looking forward to it, as I love salsa and bachata dancing. But even with a pre-sale price, paying $30 for 2 dance lessons, the occasional performance and nothing else (besides food and drinks, which you also have to pay for) is too much. It would have been more reasonable if there were more lessons or more activities to do on-site

Hi This time the Latin Sparks Festival was a disappointment as the expectations were really high. The division between the two end stages did not work as they were planned last year. The DJ did not turn up the beat as the festival was towards the end. The song selection was not pretty relevant and people ended up on a low unfortunately. Last time the music, dance classes and the dancing teams were fabulous and more importantly the music was a combo of English House Music and Latin Fusion and we really enjoyed the last year edition. This is an honest review as expectations were really high for a 10th year anniversary of LSF. But I will definitely be coming next year as well because Latin culture always attracts me with it's amazing Music and food :) Thank you and Cheers.

LSF, YOU NEED TO ADD MORE PORTA POTTIES. I have been to smaller festivals with twice as many porta potties. You miss a lot of action while waiting in the never ending line. We didn't drink because of that! 😆 Other than that, It was a fun time, great musica and atmosphere, food was great but you had to wait a loooong time depending on what you wanted to eat.

It was interesting but could be better if they added more activities/dance group and more singers, less repetitive movements from the same group. I really enjoyed the food there 😋 and the vibration.

This was my first time attending the Latin festival and I’m glad I didn’t miss it. It was Filled with lots of fun activities, music and food. I got to try different plates of foods. There was lots of Dancing and I got to link up with my friends as well. Great organizing this! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for next year!

Amazing atmosphere, and amazing vibes. I love this festival it brings out some much life in the city of Ottawa. We had so much fun And have been since the first festival of the city. Great job to everyone who is part of the team to make this festival happen yearly!

I heard about this event from a friend who had attended the previous year. I heard about this event from a friend who had attended the previous year. She told me it’s very different from what we normally do and that it’s worth the trip down from MTL to attend. She was absolutely right! What impressed me most was the amount of content and things happening during the event. Between the dance workshops, performances, food trucks, DJs, dancers, drummers, carnival costumes, etc. there was never a dull moment. We arrived just after 10:30 PM and from the moment we got there, we never stopped dancing (even though none of us actually “know” how to dance). We stayed until the very end (around 2:15 AM). There was a great vibe and the people were all very friendly. It felt like a connected community coming together for one special night. Latin Sparks was the highlight of my summer. I cannot wait for 2018! P.S. Bring this event to Montreal!

It was a good time

the festival was amazing! I had heard about it for the past couple of years but never made it out. Finally, i said I’d give it a try. As soon as I got close to Albert Island, I could feel the energy. Such a different vibe than a bar or a night club. the place is on fire. everyone is dancing - even though the majority of us didn’t know how to dance, we were dancing like nothing could stop us! Also, the event being outside gives this feeling of freedom. You can see the stars, the open air keeps you cool, you’re overlooking the Ottawa River… honestly what else could you ask for. All in all this was one of the most unique things I’ve ever seen in Ottawa. You’ll definitely see me in 2018 and I’m definitely not waiting until the last minute to buy my ticket!

Amazing atmosphere, music, and acts on stage. Performers did a great job engaging the audience from simple to more complex steps/moves. Location was great, and accommodates a large crowd. 3 separate sections for dancing. You'll be sure to find something you like. Food trucks provided good food (3 veggie tacos for ~$10) (and churros for dessert!). Never a line up to get drinks. Not much seating for food, but you shouldn't need it for long because the music will pull you in. If you need a dance partner there are people who wear "Ask me to dance" shirts. Well worth the price 👌. 10/10 would salsa again.
