Great taste of Bavaria in the middle of Ottawa. I’ve tried 3 different beers so far and they were all great. Love the ceramic beer steins! An authentic place and my new favourite neighborhood pub.

A yummy spot for German fare in Ottawa. Very spacious with lots of seating and cool decor. You can order beer at the bar up front and then food at a separate counter further back. You pay and then find a spot. Noticed some board games you can borrow as well. Food was quite tasty. I got the schnitzel with the works and I liked the pickles, peppers and onions. Quite filling! We also shared some pierogies and they were standard fare. Service was quick and friendly.

I have yet to visit an authentic German beer hall, but after my visit here, not only will I make a return visit, I’ll be planning to spend some time in Germany! The beer, offered in 500ml and 1L ceramic steins, was wonderful! I settled for the Biergarten Blonde. It was a wonderful lager! There’s no table service, but that’s ok! Enjoying the beers on the patio was a perfect pairing for a warm Friday evening! While the food service is a separate business, it is equally delicious! The schnitzel and the pirogies were wonderful. I must add the fully loaded schnitzel, on a bun, is hefty. You could easily share this.

I love everything about this place. I've been visiting Ottawa and staying nearby and popped in here a few times. The staff are great. Very helpful, knowledgeable and open to chatting about beer and food and life. The beers are super. I've tried 3 of the four and my friends have also commented that they love them. The food is great. Simple, authentic Austrian fare that goes perfectly with the big steins. I like this concept - no nonsense, counter service, great beer, friendly staff, good vibes, board games..what more could you ask for. I highly recommend everyone to venture over to this nabe and support this venture. I wish they had one in my hometown.

Great beer but even better staff! It’s awesome that staff are paid a living wage and you don’t have to worry about tipping. They include it in the price of the drinks. Nice to support a company that values its people!

An awesome Beerhall experience! A little bit of Austria tucked away in the Hintonburg community of Ottawa. If you want to feel like you’re in an Austrian beer house… with your friends, old and new sharing great beer and great food… this is the place. The schnitzel sandwich was excellent, and the draught beer was fantastic. Ambiance was amazing! A great party atmosphere with excellent staff that ensure all well taken care of. Had the chance to meet one of the co-owners, Ravi! Will definitely go back!

Cool place with an original German beer bar atmosphere. Nice place. The kitchen is separate from the bar and you have to buy beer separately from the food.

Incredible spot to enjoy some traditional German brewskis, watch some hockey and converse with the locals. As a carpenter, I especially loved the all wooden interior. The painted murals inside also give you some nice scenery of the German countryside. I haven't been to Germany yet but I imagine this is similar to the beers and bierhalle's there. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the food, as they were in the middle of switching up menu's or cooks or something of the sort in May of 23. Next time I'm in Ottawa, I'll be sure to stop in again and give it a shot! Cheers from New Mexico.

Top shelf service. I wouldn't normally go out of my way for German beer as it is kinda hum-drum by today's standards for micro brewed beers, but this place is worth a visit. The schnitzel was excellent as well.

If you want an authentic German bierhalle experience, look no further! Great beers, fantastic pretzels, authentic decor and ambiance (just missing the accordions and lederhosen!!). Happy hour pricing was a bonus!! Love that you can do a 1/4L or 1/2L Jug! Will definitely be back!

Their beers are good, if you check their website you'll know what types they have and when they're doing happy hours We took the Route 21 which is their darkest beer, it has rich and deep notes, it's an original Bavarian recipe. The other one we had was called Rheinwasser, it is lighter with wheaty & hoppy notes that linger on the tongue they also have other options with fruity flavors. The pretzel was served hot out of the oven with mustard dip and the experience felt authentic. The wooden decor, the self serive, the porcelain mugs and the mountain and villagers painting on the wall. My only comment would be the type of mustard dip, which tasted bitter with the pretzel other than that 5/5

An atmosphere and ambience so authentic, you almost expect the staff to speak to you in German when you walk in. The front door is almost like a portal of sorts, where you step through off the sidewalk in Ottawa and enter in a beer hall somewhere in Bavaria. The best European style beers that I've found in the greater Ottawa region and the food has been elevated to a new level after some kind of kitchen overhaul earlier this year. Highly recommended!

Wow, the food was amazing and the beer, OH MY GOD! I don't think I've had such an amazing experience elsewhere. Will be coming over every time I am in Ottawa. 🔥🔥🔥

Pretty fun little spot. There are a number of games you can play with friends ranging from card games to board games. The beer is expensive but the tip is priced into it as told to me by the bar keep (don't get scammed by the tip jar they have by the register). Good environment, and I hear the schnitzel is really good but I'm never there early enough to try it.

Love this place! Roomy atmosphere, ultra friendly staff, great beer like the Praha (in authentic steins!) and the food is great too. The schnitzel portions are large and the pretzels are to die for, especially with the cheese dip.

We really enjoy stopping in here and now even more that the kitchen is open most of the time they are! I can't rate service as there is none at the table, but that's all part of the experience here. I also love the veggie options. I don't actually drink alcohol but my husband loves beer, and this is a fun way for him to indulge.

Delicious place to go for German fare! My husband enjoyed their beer. I had the schnitzel with everything and it was tastey! The perogies were alright, standard tasting. The banana peppers and pickles were great, you can tell that they were made in house and not store bought. The staff was friendly and there were plenty of seating when we went for late lunch.

Was not able to try their beer freshly at the Carleton Place location and was not able to make it to a formal Oktoberfest and this was just awesome. Love having a stein and the choice between 0.5 L and 1.0 L . High quality beer and service was the right way, go to them and they will help you out. Food from the private little polish place was nice touch as well. Do get the salad and the shnitzel. We arrived from Gatineau using the bus + Otrain and it was the best idea - cause DONT DRINK AND DRIVE, FRIENDS!

Really tasty beer, great vibe. The food options are lacking though, I would eat first and then come here to hang out. There's a few board games available to play too.

Beer is fantastic! The food is mishmash of traditional and non-traditional flavours which is fine, I guess. The beer was the star for sure.

Really enjoyed my visit! I'm not a fan of beers but it was a clean, easy to drink beer. Got the schnitzel and pork perogies. Perogies were tasty with good flavor and the schnitzel was crunchy and good. Would recommend getting the perogies with sour cream.

I tend not to be a huge fan of German beers, but this place has me rethinking that. The decors strikes a nice balance of welcoming and no nonsense; and the food, while not fancy, totally hits the spot. Finally, don’t be afraid to get the one litre stein; the ceramic keeps it cool until the end!

Great brewery to go hang out with friends or family. The German beer is good, friendly and helpful staff. They serve food, but it can be difficult finding parking.

Braumeister Bierhalle is totally awesome. German inspired beer and food like no other. It's a pretty cool concept where you buy beer tokens when you walk in and you can enjoy a full litre of beer or a half. I went with the half's so I can try more. The mugs they pour are true German style, and your beer stays ice cold till the last drop. The German food is amazing and compliments the beer quite well. Well situated in a super cool neighborhood, it's a must stop. You won't be disappointed.
