I love Ethiopian and having tried many Ethiopian restaurants in Germany, I've been wanting to try this place since long. And oh boy, was I disappointed. First off, the place is pretty rustic and has a nice decor where you can sit at regular tables and chairs and also tables with low seating which are placed on sand. The staff is very kind and speak perfect English. The place is easy to find but very difficult to find a parking around since it's very close to the town. Now coming to the food, doro wot is considered to be Ethiopia's national dish and this is the only place I've been which didn't know how to make it. I'm not sure if this is how they usually make it or something went terribly wrong that day, the stew was extremely sour. There was an overdose of tomatoes to a point where it wasn't edible. The chicken wasn't cleaned well, it was disaster to say the least. The portions are huge but it's just useless with inedible dishes. The vegetarian dishes were fine but the wait times, oh my good lord, you've to wait an eternity for your food to come by and this was on a Tuesday night. I shudder to think what the situation may be on weekends. After this bad tasting experience, I don't think I'll visit here.

This is a good restaurant. The ambience is awesome especially the sand and everything. Lighting and decor are on par with expectations. They have a very unique way to serve food which I personally liked. But the only complaint between me and my colleagues was the spiciness level of food. Most people here don't eat much spicy food. You have to ask beforehand if you want a non spicy one. The rest of it was just beautiful. And the mango wine was delicious. A good place overall.

I had an amazing dining experience at this Ethiopian restaurant. The food was not only incredibly flavorful but also delightfully spicy. The decor transported me to an African tent with sandy floors and a rich array of African decorations, creating an authentic atmosphere. The professional and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment. The place is consistently busy, so making a reservation is a must. I can't wait for my next visit to savor this exceptional experience once again.

The food was good. However, if you want to have a good time without being moralized for not speaking German in Germany, you should avoid this place. For what at first seemed like a joke, turned into an oath to me and my friends because we spoke English and not German in Germany. Shame on us....Since when a restaurant is a place to judge people ?

Went there to have dinner - wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The decor of the place is really nice. The seating is divided into two parts, 1 with lowered seating within a sandpit which seemed traditional Ethiopian and then the normal seating with tables and chairs. Since I've never tried Ethiopian food before, the menu looked quite daunting at first glance so the menu combos seemed like a good place to begin. We ordered the combo 1 with Ethiopian beer and Maracuja beer. The Maracuja beer was especially nice. The food took forever to be served but since the also mention it in their menu, I think that was to be expected. They started it off with two sambusas each of lentil and lamb served with mango chutney (not sure what it's called though). This was followed by a gigantic plate full of curries. There were three vegetarian options - mixed vegetables, lentils, and spinach and the meat options - lamb, beef, and chicken served with a side of couscous and Injera - which is an Ethiopian staple. All of the food was absolutely delicious but it was quantitatively too much to be finished by us. Overall, it was a good experience, especially if one wants to try something other than pizza, Asian, European, and middle Eastern cuisine.

Typical of the city, parking can be tricky, but there were places very nearby to squeeze my car into. Resto is cash only, but they have a giant sign on the door in German and English warning of such. The bank was 200m away. Friendly staff, compact place and was somewhat crowded on Friday night, but we were able to walk in. Friendly staff, prices were normal. Portion sizes were small, and left me wanting more, but all three dishes at my table tasted delicious and was able to make me overlook their small size. It's the first time I've had this type of cuisine.

Had the vegetarian menu. Delicious flavorful food, relatively big portions. The menu is very informative as well. The restaurant is a bit too dark though.

First time to this restaurant and definitely won’t be my last. Loved the food and the atmosphere. I’ve been to a few Eritrean restaurants before but this was definitely the best I’ve been to so far. The waiting staff were also so nice and friendly.

Lovely friendly place. Super calm and warm atmosphere. Excellent food with very nice service staff - was really enjoyable experience. We sat at the low tables on cushions, drank Ethiopian beer and had two of the traditional dishes. Was absolutely worth it.

Had a great time, food is amazing and not super expensive , asked to take the rest home with some of their famous Injera bread and they wrote this super cute message on the box. Really friendly and creative staff . (The only downside is that they do take some time to prepare their food, don't come here super duper hungry)
