A very good value for your money. Our children loved it. There are lots of different animals to see, a spectacular huge aquarium, crocodiles, rodents, birds flowers...etc. The toilets are clean and the food is also OK at the restaurant.

This was part of our visit to the zoo we decided to buy tickets for the aquarium aswell without much expectation but we were surprised by how much fun we had. It's got a large outdoor area with birds and other animals before you go down to the aquarium which is very much educational and great for kids. The ending was the winner with a huge cinema style glass with numerous different breeds of fish and other sea animals. All in all a great visit and lots of fun to be had by all.

A very nice tropical aquarium. Although there are not that many different species, the enclosures are very nicely furnished. We particularly liked the cinema-like seating area overlooking the large glass pane of a large pool. I hadn't seen that in any zoo before and it was very impressive.

A must visit and well worth the price! My partner and I had the most wonderful afternoon at the aquarium. This isn't a complaint for me but there weren't as many fish as I expected, much more reptiles and amphibians- my favourite. You enter into an area were little ring tailed lemurs freely wander around which was a great start. With many of the exhibits you could see multiple view points of the enclosure, front or from above/behind. This meant you had a maximum chance of seeing all of the animals. They even have secret hiding holes you can see inside of in case an animal wants to chill in the dark. There's a room with hundreds of bats flying around behind some mesh and munching on some fruit- this was probably my favourite exhibit.There was a massive variety of fish and sea creatures to watch further into the aquarium. My partner's favourite animal at the aquarium were the spectacular lion fish. I don't think I've ever seen so many adorable stingrays in one place before! There was a massive viewing room that you could sit and watch fish, rays and sharks for hours. It was so peaceful. Everything about it was exciting, beautiful and loads of fun. Get yourself there!

Tons of different animals, insects, reptiles and amphibians. In the beginning, there was open parrots and open lemurs which you could see the staff interacting with. Very cool! There were huge alligators and a 30m long tube made for ants to carry food and supplies to their house. It was very interesting to see and a nice jungle atmosphere.

Definitely worth visiting this place specially as a family ! Just try it out! On the weekends it can be very crowded so I recommend to visit during the week!

Not to forget the stuff was a bit rude, or not in a good mood with children at the entrance, but the rest was fantastic.

Viele spannende Gänge die zu erkunden sind und viele verschiedene Tiere die zu finden sind. Alles sehr schön angelegt und Preis-Leistung ist auch in Ordnung mit einer Familienkarte und dann noch als Kombiticket mit dem Tierpark. Es war nicht sooo voll bzw hat es sich gut verlaufen und auch an den Aquarien nicht so sehr gestaut. Ein tolles Erlebnis für Groß und Klein. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Aquarium ist beeindruckend. Die Vielfalt der Tiere und die Gestaltung der Becken ist schön. Vor allem die großen Tropenpflanzen sind eine Wucht. Ich habe noch nie eine derart große Geigenfeige gesehen. Geschweige denn solche riesigen Efeututen. Wir waren nach gut 1 ½ Stunden durchgelaufen. Wir haben auch nur das Aquarium besichtigt und sind nicht durch den Tiergarten. Dafür hat leider die Zeit nicht gereicht. Es war zum Glück nicht so voll. Ich denke sonst wäre es, vor allem am Anfang des Rundganges, sehr eng geworden. Einen Stern ziehe ich wegen des hohen Preises ab, der sicher gerechtfertigt ist, jedoch tun 25€ schon im weh. Ein Besuch lohnt sich jedoch allemal und ist sicher nicht nur für Kinder ein Erlebnis!

The aquarium is well organized but quite small considering the price. We managed complete the round tour within 60 min (and we were quite slow). There are also a few view points where cpu can seat.

Really awesome place for the whole family. Was a bit hesitant at first due to the ticket price. But once we got in I realized this place is a lot mor tham an acquarium. It's a tropical world to explore above ground, below ground, and through an immsginary submarine that ends with the most spectacular fish tank I've ever seen. It's a great adventure that will keep kids occupied fir hours learning about reptiles, insects, amphibians, and fish.

The tropical aquarium of the Hagenbeck zoo is a great place for kids and grown-ups alike. The place is built so that one feels to be taken to a different world, the tropics. There are very good game viewing opportunities and we saw crocodiles, sharks, snakes, small monkeys and many other animals. Also there is a well built-in flow so that the pace of new animals matches per well the mental capacity to see new game, IMHO. All in all a great place to visit for young and older!

The Aquarium at Hagenbeck is worth a visit for people of all ages. It's huge and so can easily spend few hours here...it's mostly fishes and reptiles here so if you are expecting any other species then will be disappointed

It wasn't as big as expected, it took less than an hour to finish, we did enjoy it though. The restaurant inside is very very over priced. We had to pay 4 euros for a small bottle of water. The gift shop was not too big and didn't have lots of variety.

Very nice experience with a mix of large aquaria, reptile terraria and more! Great place for kids to learn about reefs, fish and snakes. Does not have much besides fish, like squids or other sea creatures.

Adult tickets for both the zoo and the aquarium are 40€, but really worth it. Took us around 5 hours to see the entire place, the animals seem to be treated really well 😊

While passing through this tropical-house, you "travel" from Madagascar to Australia, to Mexico, Texas, and finally find yourself in a submarine in tropic waters. Honestly one of, if not the best, aquariums I've been to. All the exhibits where very well done, highly informative, and offered a good diversity of information. The exclosures/tanks seemed very well maintained with healthy happy looking animals. They also offered a majority of the exhibit information in various languages which was a big plus.

I really enjoyed the experience. If you're passionate about reptiles and all sorts of fish, then you're in for a treat. You'll even find the Goliath birdeater (although he was hidden and I couldn't find it) Lots of families with small kids too, lots of young and old couples alike. Totally recommend it

Seems to be lot smaller or confined than I thought it would be. I am remotely not an expert on animal spaces, but I though some space given to some animals was smaller in my opinion. Variety is good. Its just my expectation that was too high. Overall its an OK place. Ticket price is bit too high I guess.

Das Essen in der Hauseigenen Kantine, kann ich wirklich nicht empfehlen. Es ist bei weitem zu teuer. Wenn man hiervon absieht ist der Eintrittspreis angemessen.

Super Idee bei verregnetem Wetter. Die Anlage ist wirklich cool gemacht. Man hat auch nicht das Gefühl, dass den Tieren Platz fehlt. Tolle Aquarien und zum Abschluss auch noch die Riesen-Panoramaanlage mit großen Fischen mit Möglichkeiten zum Verweilen. Für den Preis dürfte die Anlage allerdings auch gerne größer sein.....

Wir hatten einen tollen Nachmittag im Tropen-Aquarium. Es ist alles barrierefrei und somit auch für Menschen mit Behinderung geeignet. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht davon. Bei schlechten Wetter einer super Alternative zum Tierpark neben an.

Das Aquarium ist sehr schön gestaltet. Die Nachschlagewerke an jeder Station sind wunderbar und sehr Informativ. Auch für Kinder geeignet. Die Sprache hat es uns verschlagen als wir ums Eck Bogen und sich eine riesige Glasfront vor uns erstreckt. Gigantisch. Der abschließende Vortrag der Abteilungsleiterin des Aquarium war sehr kurzweilig und ebenfalls sehr Informativ. Wir können nur zu einem Besuch raten.
