No entrance fee. You can donate something. A little insight into what it used to be like in the village with handicraft work. There are also old objects related to agricultural management. Everything was made in-house and so you get a small impression of what life in the village used to be like. There is also the opportunity to try out some things yourself. You can also marvel at how the bread was baked in a very old oven. Guided tours are also offered. Of course the animals shouldn't be missing. Ducks, geese, chickens, sheep, goats and many more could be seen in their stables. Very nice for city children too. This way you can see a village like the people used to live in the past.

As a family with two children under the age of three, it's a great trip with a little walk. There is a lot to discover. In addition to the animals and plants, there is a lot of equipment from that time to marvel at. Free entry. The chickens and turkeys move freely around the property and come close to people. So be careful when you take a meal break. We were there on a slightly cooler summer day and hardly had any wasps. The children really enjoyed it and we will be going back soon.

Every now and then I stroll through the museum village during my lunch break; it's so wonderfully relaxing to take a short break there. On the site you can see old buildings (with signs) and goats, geese, chickens, ducks, beehives, horses and cattle. Almost everything is kept in good condition by volunteers, THANK YOU! There are always special events in the museum village that are very popular and you can book a horse-drawn carriage ride. There used to be a donation box at the entrance that I "used" every time, but now I hope for support via bank transfer/membership. I usually spend around 30 minutes on my “tour”.

A really nice farm in the beautiful Volksdorf. Many well-preserved thatched roof houses with nice furnishings. We went there for a party, with food and drinks at reasonable prices. There are also animals such as horses and cows, but they are housed on a separate farm. Nearby are some forests, the park pool, the "downtown" of Volksdorf and highly recommended restaurants.

This small open-air museum is really beautifully laid out. With pets, old flower gardens, old tools, etc. Entry is free. But of course donations help to maintain everything. Sometimes there are also events like the potato festival. There is also a small shop, you should definitely go there.

Had a splendid time wandering the farm museum. Admission was free and had lots of interesting farm buildings and animals to see.

Small, tranquil open-air museum in the heart of Hamburg that demonstrates rural life in northern Germany around 1909. I've been there several times now, there isn't that much to see during the week, but since entry is free it's still worth stopping by. During special events such as the village festival, the entire museum village comes to life. In addition to the animals and the great viewing and participation opportunities for young and old, the committed and friendly volunteers are a highlight. Thank you very much, dear museum villagers, for your commitment to this valuable place!

In the snowy, sunny winter there is always a special magic - completely detached from everyday life...

Great way to experience a bit of the countryside in the city. Kids love it , they also have regular events in summer which do carry a fee, otherwise free entry.

Good place for a few hours with the kids. There are farm animals and old farm equipment. When there is an event it can turn into a vivid crowded place with a nice atmosphere.

It could be kid friendly, but we are in Hamburg where kid friendliness is a non existent concept. We go to Sweden to have such an experience. All in all avoid this place if your kid is under 4.

Free entry and you can tour the old farm yourself. There was horses, goats, ducks, geese, chickens and a turkey. Well maintained and free parking by the roadside.

During a long break at a training course nearby, we took a short walk there. The outdoor area is free to visit. Despite their busy schedules, nice and friendly employees answered all of our questions patiently and with a lot of passion. It's always worth a visit!
