Lovely hotel in a location that is not as bad as some people are saying. I found a few very good restaurants within 15 minutes' walking distance... you just have to walk a little and not think that you are in downtown Hamburg! The surroundings are beautiful, some nice walks and very peaceful. If you have a room facing the road, I would recommend closing the windows at night, which filters out all of the traffic noise perfectly. If you have a room facing the garden you will have a lovely view and the only sound will be the birds waking you at 4.00 a.m., so again, I would recommend having the windows closed at night if you are a light sleeper. Andreas is the most helpful host, as is his wife, the breakfast is lovely with lots of choice. In fact I cannot think of a reason why you would not want to stay here. Highly recommended!

A really peaceful urban place, for us was this charming hotel the ideal solution. Initially, we planned to stay just for one night for a musical visit, but the exceptional experience prompted us to extend our stay by another two nights. Accompanied by our family, comprised of two adults and our 11-year-old daughter, we chose the small apartment. It was tastefully and nice furnished, leaving us wanting for nothing to feel thoroughly comfortable and at home. Another highlight was the great breakfast, an experience not to be missed. We were met with an impressive array of freshly prepared, lovingly presented dishes - from homemade jams, savory meat and cheese platters, to freshly homemade baked bread and sweet treats. Absolutely phenomenal! We are already looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful hotel and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the enchanting stay and the invaluable tips for exploring the surrounding area. It's definitely a five-star experience and we highly recommend it!

nice and beautiful place

Stayed here when travelling for work. Excellent service and breakfast. The decor is not to everyone's taste but is clean and rooms well presented. It is nicely situated a short walk from Wellingsbuttel and the S Bahn. Very pleasant morning runs along the river. I also bought very good wine from the Weinstube opposite.
