Of the 3 HT I've been to, this stands out as a clear winner. Hands down the best food I've had from a HT or any other bar type restaurant. Everything was fresh and amazing. I highly recommend this place for a meal and drink.

Everytime I eat here. It’s a let down. Okay hey blame it on the chef… I’ve been trying to get good food here for the past year and everytime it’s a let down. Today I finally decided to post pictures. Because talking to the manager get me nowhere. So you tell me…. Biscuits were raw. My over easy egg was fried and yokes cooked. Bacon was also raw. I sent that back and told the chef to eat it. He wouldn’t…. Of course. And idk what restaurant does not have a toaster but I don’t want black soot or burnt anything of a piece of toast. It’s not even toasted. It was another let down. Oh all the negative, there was this one serve who stopped to ask me what was wrong and he tried to make it right. I was at the bar and he was a server name BRAD. He deserve a raise. For real. This man stepped up to a challenger that was not even his to take on. He sets the standard for hickory taverns everywhere. Brad the server. Go see him if you decide to visit this location.

The restaurant has a great look. The service was good, but the sandwich I ordered "Cuban" didn't seem to fit the price and unfortunately was salty and not enjoyable. Maybe other menu items are better. But this didn't meet my expectations.

Food was good not great, took an hour to get our food after being seated. Restaurant was only like 1/3 full and it did not appear as if they were short staffed in the front of the house. I would not recommend going. (Oct 25 2022)

We had family visiting us and not enough time to cook. We had not been to this location before we arrived probably around 6:30 PM. It was not busy. There were maybe five tables with people at them one or zero people at the bar. Bottom line, the food was OK. Our server was very sweet. The bartender was horrible had no idea how to make a martini to call her. A bartender is an insult to bartenders. Why she would’ve been hired as a sign that they couldn’t get anyone else breathing. My family asked for martinis with one ingredient and they came with 4. I will certainly never come back here and I can see why it wasn’t busy. The two people at the hostess stand were very nice and welcoming a young man open the door for us. I’m both entering and exiting, which was very nice. The salad I ordered was a good quality although it seems they have eliminated the spicy southwest dressing that used to make me want to go there at other locations.

New look inside and menu has been updated. Great experience! The new Crispy Mozzarella app and Smokehouse burger is my new favorite!

Attempted to have Dinner at Huntersville location, waiter was not friendly at all, could not answer questions in regards to the menu, stating he would have to check. We only got to order drinks and I was given cold coffee. The entire process up to the time we attempted to place our orders was over 20 minutes. In which we just decidedl to cut our losses and go somewhere else.

Great lunch with my wife. Both ordered draft beers. The Reuben was my best in a long time. Wife enjoyed the French dip sandwich. Always recommend the tavern chips. Stopped in today for a lunch with my wife. Really great visit, as usual. Good draft beers, well prepared sandwiches and friendly service. Every visit is consistently good.

We stopped in this morning to try out brunch because everywhere else was packed for breakfast. We were very disappointed. While I understand Hickory Tavern is more of a sports bar, if you offer it on your menu you should deliver a quality product. My husband got the chicken and waffle sandwich, daughter got the grits, bacon eggs bowl and I had the steak and egg tacos. My husband's waffles were good, but that where it stopped. Grits had zero flavor even being loaded down with cheese and scallions, bacon was way undercooked, and the steak was overcooked, more fat than meat and what meat was there was chewy and it seemed that it was being covered up with a sauce, tomatoes, and scallions again. To leave a meal hungry is sad. We spoke to our waitress, who then reported to her GM. While our meal was comped by half, that was not the point. We did not go into a restaurant looking for a free meal, we wanted a quality meal. I would strongly encourage sticking with their normal menu and steer clear of the brunch menu.

Like most places they seem to be having staffing issues which is affecting quality of service. Food is really good for the price. Steak tacos, grilled chicken sandwich with bee sting sauce, fish and chips, and food truck chicken and rice are all great dishes. Hopefully they will be able to get staffing levels back up and provide a little quicker service. The big issue was waiting on the bar drinks - the appetizer came before the drinks which just shouldn't happen. Overall good place to eat, lots of TVs and good atmosphere.

Food was very good, and the service was even better. Brandon did a great job with us and has a wonderful personality and professionalism. He was down to earth and also a sense of humor that was enjoyable during our very positive dining experience. The environment is family and kid friendly as well.

While I had not visited the restaurant prior to the renovations, my first experience the other day was quite pleasant. Management and our male server were very friendly and personable! It's so tough these days to find good customer service in the food and service industry but here, the service was exceptional! The seating was very unique. Loved that there was a big high top surfboard shaped table for what looks like a larger party. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the seared tuna, the Reuben (fresh, thin sliced piece of meat aplenty!) and the NY style cheesecake. For those who are interested, there are a ton of beer options on tap. I can definitely see myself coming back to this place again for lunch or dinner!

Ordered on 11/6/23 late night uber eats order. Called first and the guy who answered was very nice and helpful. Once i got there the pick up the order although the only customer there the bartender was very nice to me checking on my order and i assume the tall man with the beard was the manager he was very nice, double checked about the sauce i ordered before finishing up my order and made sure everything was great with me before letting me walk out the door! Exceptional customer service, i live across the street and had never eaten here but you can guarantee ill be back, also the wings are great! Thank you!

Hadn't been here in a long time because service was always horrible. Well, we gave it a try today and to our surprise, we got the best service ever by Lauren. She was wonderful! Food was great too. Will definitely be going back.

So glad to see this restaurant back up and running! Renovations and menu updates are great. Love the wings and onion rings! Great place to chill out and watch some games, lots of TVs. Brian is an awesome server and took great care of us. Will be back!

My wife and I consider ourselves a little bit of “chicken tenders” snobs! If you’re looking for freshly breaded tenders, this place has hit my top 5 all time! Had them with the crispy brussels sprouts and they did not disappoint at all. Great beer choices from local places. To top it all off, Sophia was one of the most attentive servers I’ve had in the past few months! Highly recommend!

Stopped in tonight for dinner. Very slow compared to what I thought I’d find. Service was pretty good and the food was exceptional. Especially considering what they had before the renovations. If you want the best bar food come to this location. The menu is way better than the competition and other hickory tavern locations! The one thing I would offer to improve would be for the managers to be present and interact with the customers. I did not see a single manager during my entire visit. Staff was friendly and the chef was nice enough to deliver my chicken dish and talk about the new menu improvements. I’ll be back soon to try more new dishes.

First, the host and hostess (teenagers) are incompetent. We were told a 35 minute wait. 45 minutes later, and after watching other people that came in after us, being seated ahead of us, my husband spoke up. His name had been moved to the bottom of the list and nobody knows how that happened. A manager should have been sent over to apologize. Once seated, we waited 10 minutes to be served. When I look around I see plenty of open dirty tables. So why the wait? The food is average if you can get past the incompetence, lack of cleanliness and slow service. Skip this place is my recommendation.

Excellent Lunch - Atmosphere was great. We ordered the Fried Cheese Mozzarella sticks - yummy with a wonderful dipping sauce. Meals were Fish & Chips - Good, and a Reuben Sandwich with Fries. The Reuben was spot on. Highly recommended. Great Server (Lois). Hospitality was great. Nice new interior after some recent remodeling.

Had the build your own salad. Nice selection of ingredients and good sized portions. Service was excellent, and establishment was clean.

Place is revamped nice enough but they haven’t adjusted the menu to what I saw… it’s the same old same … not bad but it could have been so much more … staff was great and drinks good … perhaps a menu adjustment will drive people there as the competition is getting quite free e in the location

Hickory Tavern is a better than average experience. Stopped in around 2:30 for a late lunch. Initially the restaurant is quite large for the area. Clean and well staffed with several waitresses, bartenders and table bussers. Our waitress Hailey was personable polite and prompt. 5 stars for her and her personality. I had the turkey melt with Swiss and tater tots. Tots were basic tots. Sandwich had nice fresh onions and plenty of thin turkey slices. Sandwich was very salty. Bride had chicken blt with chips. Good flavor overall enjoyed. Bar chips were done right.

Service was great but food was ok. We ordered a fried shrimp app that only had a couple shrimps and a bunch of fried breading. We informed the manager and he was awesome. He fixed the order and I think he prepared the second one and it was great. My guess is kitchen staff could be better. FOH seem to be on it but not sure what’s going on in the back. Picture is the before photo. Forgot to take a pic of the second but it was perfect.

This is my favorite place to come to! The bartenders (ask for Stratton and Elliot) are attentive, kind and welcoming. The food is always well executed and the service is even better. The management team including Donna, Brad and Mel deserve a round of applause.

We come here every Wednesday for wing night. The wings are always very tasty (and cheap!) and the service over the past few weeks has been outstanding. Huge thanks to Steven for going above and beyond each time we see him.

Very good place for burgers and more. I had the Shrimp and Grits. First time having it, not going to be the last. Our server, KI , was easily, the best server we have had in a long time. She was very attentive to everything. Next time we are in town, we will be coming back.
