Spent a few days in Huntington Beach, chose this restaurant for its oceanfront location. The food was phenomenal. Had Ace Pineapple Cider to drink, deliciously fresh fish tacos, and the most decadent macadamia nut ice cream cake for dessert. Enjoyed it so much I came back 2 days later and ordered the exact same thing! It’s like a mini Hawaiian getaway and a real treat for your tastebuds!

I stopped here for lunch today. The views are amazing. When I mentioned that this was my first visit, they seated me at a table next to the window overlooking the beach. Because the regular fish and chips were quite large, I asked if I could order the smaller children's portion. The server was super nice and said yes. I also ordered a special "zero-proof" drink called a "The Volcano" (coconut and strawberry blended drink). It was delicious! I had planned on ordering the key-lime pie for dessert, but after the drink I felt like I had already had dessert. I'll have to try the pie next time. :) The only minor complaint I have is that the breading on the fish was a little thick for my taste. I prefer thin and crispy breading on my fish and chips. Other than that, the experience was wonderful.

An imaginary atmosphere and a distinctive and strategic location overlooking the ocean. 🔴Note: Reservations must be made before going to the restaurant. The food was a unique experience. The chef's interest in presenting American dishes in a distinctive way. I recommend the restaurant

Very tasty lunch. I had the ceviche, my sis Mahi Mahi tacos. Taco was cold, but the server quickly corrected the issue.

Lovely experience, and absolutely delicious food! I arrived here wanting to relax, eat a good meal and sip a beer...and this first visit to Duke's didn't disappoint. I had a front row seat for the beach and the pier and I never felt rushed or ignored. Great beer selection (I had the Delicious IPA and it was delicious), good iced tea, and the food was magnificent. I had excellent service. Appetizer was the Poke Tacos, Dinner was the Sauteed MacNut (fish that night was Opah) and I finished with their Wedge Salad. Everything was damn delicious. The whole meal was absolutely lovely and the atmosphere matches it entirely. The feel of the place and the food were sophisticated enough that it doesn't feel too casual or too dressy. I would love to come back here.

Fun spot to enjoy Hawaiian food and ocean view. The coconut shrimp is delicious. Maui watermelon cocktail is refreshing. Must try their signature dessert: Kimo’s original hula pie with macadamia nut ice cream, chocolate cookie crust, hot fudge, toasted mac nuts, and whipped cream.

Enjoyed lunch here right on by the pier. Very comfortable atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive & wonderful. Food was delicious. I enjoyed the Mango Burger & a Black Salt & Tajin rimmed Bloody Mary with my meal. It was phenomenal.

Met up with friends at Dukes, it's a great place for lunch or dinner. We met for lunch, the hostess was warm & friendly. Although we had reservations, there was a bit of a wait because it was pretty busy, We were seated with a view of the beach. Although it was blocked because of all the tents due to the US Open Surf competition, again, not a problem because I was there to catch up with friends and after lunch we could walk out to the pier or beach. Food: Excellent, had Caesar Salad with grilled salmon, my friends got different sandwiches with fries Ambiance: Casual and modern. Feels airy and open. Service: Excellent, our server was attentive, friendly and professional, she noticed gift bags & that we were celebrating something so she brought us a hula pie, super yummy and delicious ice cream pie. Pricing: $76 for 3 lunch, 1 beverage, 2 waters Parking: Valet for $9 for 3 hours, after 3 hours it's $25

My husband and I visited Dukes over the Memorial Day weekend. We had delicious cocktails. I had a mai tai that was the best I'd ever tasted. Both of us ordered fish and chips that were delicious. We will come back again soon. Thank you Dukes for a memorable time. The service was excellent.

What a beautiful place with splendid food! The service was wonderful, too. We made 2 reservations because we had a large group. They were kind enough to put our 2 tables close together so we could still mingle and pay mostly together. My food was delicious! I didn't ask a ton about our other 10+ people, but everyone seemed happy. The space is absolutely gorgeous! It's right on the beach with the perfect views of the pier and waves. I loved it!

It costed $9 to park in their parking lot and they don’t validate parking which kind of sucks. So you can either use street parking or somewhere else. The restaurant was clean and had a nice beach vibe overlooking the ocean. The window tables were taken so we waited at the bar and had a drink. 10 minutes later they had a window spot available for us. They have a nice drink menu with beach tiki themed drinks. Food tasted excellent and if you plan on coming here get something with fish in it. Might as well treat yourself with desert if you have room after. Word of advice is to share it with your partner because desert was huge. Overall a good spot to stop at and take a walk on the beach after to let the food digest.

I would have given 5 stars but I was expecting a Mac salad truly authentic to island style Mac salad and what I got was literally store bought/out of the bucket tasting and looking deli Mac salad. If I brought you all my island Mac salad recipe I can almost guarantee you it would blow yours away and is authentic to the island style salad, and fits the Duke's theme 🌺 Overall though, our server's were awesome and all the other food was so good. Please take the Mac salad off the menu. It is so subpar to everything else on the menu and just doesn't fit in. Mahalo to all for making my husband's birthday a great and memorable one!

The atmosphere would be a lot better if it wasn't so brightly lit. They do not know how to make a margarita. We have some appetizers which were very good but they failed when it came to order the prime rib it was busy was not late and they were out we drove all the way from far just to have prime rib. It's pricey but not ridiculous the prime rib dinner is $40 if they have it. We paid for drinks and appetizers and went somewhere else. I complement the manager because she was sympathetic and gave us a gift certificate to try them again in the future.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!! The location is unrivaled!! It is right on Huntington beach, next to the pier! It is also across the street from great shopping! The staff were so warm and inviting! They seemed to be in such great spirits. But who wouldn’t when you work at such a great location. When I made the reservation, I asked for a table close to the window with beach views and they did not disappoint!! We were able to watch the beautiful sunset. Babyyyyy!!!! The food was amazing! We ordered the Crispy Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer and it is a FANTASTIC! You have to order it! For dinner, I ordered the grilled fish tacos! They were to die for! The fish was very flavorful and tender. I also ordered the Pog Cocktail with Coconut Rum! It’s like an adult slushy! Refreshing, fruity, and tasty! All and all, I loved this place and can’t wait to go back to Cali for a visit! It is an amazingly beautiful experience!!

We visited Huntington Beach to join friends for a birthday celebration. We never skip Dukes for dinner, because the food is so good. It's not cheap, but really worth it to treat yourselves. Our favorite dish is the Herb Crusted Mahi, however, everything is delicious. The wine selection is okay, but we usually pay the $15 corkage fee and bring our own bottle. The view here is beautiful and right on the Huntington Pier. The service is phenomenal with very speedy service. Enjoy...

My wife and I had an outstanding dinner at Duke’s last night! Exceeded our expectations in every way. First of all, the service, from our server, Michael, was one of the best experiences ever. He really delivered unbeatable service. He had great knowledge of the menu, was extremely personable, guided us through all the options, was VERY flexible with any modifications we requested, and did it all with a smile. I mean, I felt the service was genuinely warm and welcoming. It’s not that often that a restaurant’s service is MEMORABLY good, but it sure was here. Then there’s the food. WOW. Honestly, I was a little worried that because of its location, it would be a tourist trap with mediocre food and just one of the places with a great view and not much more. Nothing could be further from the truth. We were were on a Thursday night (and by the way, returning tomorrow night BECAUSE it was such a great experience) and they had some awesome surf and turf options, and we opted for New York Steak and Lobster Tail. But we substituted the scallion fried rice for the side dish. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium well, as we’d requested, was absolutely delicious, and the lobster tail was also excellent. Sometimes you get a skimpy little tail that isn’t even that tasty. Nope again, this was a good sized lobster tail, with succulent meat and the standard drawn butter. Another hit. Then there’s the scallion fried rice - wow, I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT good, but it really was. Absolutely delicious. Oh, and we started with a shrimp cocktail appetizer, and not only were the shrimp a good size and very flavorful, but the slaw served aside the shrimp just blew me away, I LOVED it! And Michael noticed and brought us some additional slaw with the entrees. AND they recognized our special wedding anniversary with the signature awesome Hula Pie (which is not to be missed and must be shared). Ambiance was great, of course, excellent view of the ocean and pier. Hawaiian theme really shone through without being over the top. But as good as the food, service, and ambiance were, there were several additional details that I took notice of, which really pleased us. They didn’t charge us a split plate fee. They substituted the scallion fried rice (I know I mentioned that) for the regular side dish, but let’s start with the fact that the entrees actually came WITH a side dish in the first place. You know how many restaurants - even fancy high-end steakhouses - don’t include a side dish with your $80 steak (which obviously really irks me)? A lot. Not Duke’s, though. Also, every staff member I encountered whenever I left or returned to my table greeted me with a smile, and they thanked us on our way out. We left feeling very satisfied and very pleased, on a day where a lot of things went wrong for us prior to arrival at Duke’s, and Duke’s turned it all around with an amazing dining experience we’ll never forget.

Nice place to visit if you're traveling through Huntington Beach. The lunch hours and crowd is more fun and scenic with the surf and volleyball near by. It's a good restaurant, but it is very expensive. If you order the calamari, it is not a shareable amount, and does not come with lemon. The main dishes are worth the price. Duke's Blone Ale is great, and so are the Mai Tai's. Again, go for lunch and tacos, you'll have a better Duke's experience than an evening dinner.

The quality of the food was not so good, but the service was good enough. The parking fee for customers is $9.00 for three hours, then $25.00 after 3 hours. The ocean view was great 👍

Fantastic location. Yummy food. Fish tacos just so-so. Mac-n-Cheese is excellent. Expensive drinks. Clean bathrooms. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Valet parking is very reasonable considering the other parking structures downtown. View is one of the best in Huntington Beach.

Amazing place. Had the baked Dukes fish and it doesn't disappoint and would order again. Their desserts are a must! Celebrated 2 birthday and they don't skimp out on the dessert!

Very impressed by the food here. I have been here years ago for a quick brunch time drink but never had their food beside Raw Oysters. They didn’t have them on the menu this time around (not sure if they’re in season) but the food we did have exceeded expectations! The special Macnut Mahi Mahi was full of flavor and melted in your mouth and the Ahi Poke Tacos were super yummy. My burger was also cooked perfectly medium rare. The service was exceptional and the views of the ocean were amazing! If you’re looking for a nice restaurant with seafood that you don’t have to get super dressed up for this is it!

Had an amazing lunch at Dukes. Everyone was super friendly, ambiance was perfect for a beautiful day beachside. The food was hot, fresh and above par to other places serving the same food. Crab wontons were 🔥🔥 as was the sauce they served with them. Lava flow cocktail was refreshing and beautiful. Fish and chips were crispy and fresh. Would definitely go back next time I'm in HB!!

Great experience, the staff was funny and lovable, while getting orders correct and getting food out quick. The hula pie was spectacular, and the poke tacos were the best thing ever, the fish and fruit was obviously very fresh and very good. The decor was cute and the views were even better. The location is great and the pier and beach is right there, amazing for a beach walk after dinner during sunset. You definitely should get a reservation, especially if you want to go at a popular time.

I had a really amazing salad at Duke's in Huntington Beach also, the mango smoothie was phenomenal. I would highly recommend getting it. It was so good that everyone at the table ordered one. I will definitely be back even just for the smoothie.

We come here often and eat on the patio while enjoying a cocktail or two. Today we were starving so I ordered the fish and chips and hubby got a burger. Their Mai Tai’s aren’t bad either. Fish and chips was delicious and you can’t go wrong with a burger. Service was excellent and you just grab an open table for the bar/patio area. Great views for people watching, too.

We met another family for lunch at Duke's Huntington Beach. The other couple came equipped with two grandchildren, and so did we. Duke's is right on the beach, a great beach, by the way, and they have a semi outdoor bar, called the barefoot bar. So this is one place where you can get a drink without putting your shoes on. You do have to wear shoes in the indoor areas of Duke's. We had a reservation for noon, and our table was ready when we arrived at noon. Service was friendly, but kinda slow. We were there for a sociable chat. Our server probably intuited that we didn't need or want prompt service. The decor was very nice, and the food was first rate. I had a Mango BBQ chicken salad. It consisted of chicken, grilled or fried (I chose grilled), mango BBQ sauce, romaine lettuce, black beans, pepper jack cheese, roasted corn, avocado-tomato salsa, and buttermilk dressing. It tasted even better than it sounded. This dish is a level one recommendation. If you're anywhere near Huntington Beach, go to Duke's and order the Mango BBQ Chicken Salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals. For those who had their excellent fries, the potatoes were peeled in such a way that there was still a bit of skin on the fries. This enhanced their flavor and their nutritive value. If you go to the beach in southern California, Huntington Beach is a great place to go. And Duke's is a great place to eat.

This is great place to catch a sunset. The Prime Rib was perfect. Every Dukes has a different menu so make sure you check before you go if you are looking for something specific.

Stopped in on our way from LA to San Diego after reading an online recommendation. So glad we did! We were sat next to a wall of windows overlooking the beach- lovely atmosphere. We had the calamari appetizer, which was a generous sized portion and oh so good. The fish tacos were excellent- the plate came with two and I had one beer-battered and the other Cajun- they were equally delicious. Finally, we finished our meal with the macadamia nut ice cream cake- well worth the splurge! All of the staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Duke’s!

We stopped in for a quick late night dinner, and the service was great. Our server was on point with recommendations and was very attentive. I loved how chill the environment felt with soft, low lighting and a great view of the beach! I also loved that the restaurant was located right at the beginning of the peer, so we didn't have to walk very far with our kids. They had a fun coloring activity booklet for our kids to stay entertained and had great choices for them to choose from as well. Would definitely come back!
