Wouldn't quite call this a "gastropub" but its got the beach bar vibe. So its right there for the quick eats. The food is decent with a couple of notable choices that you should follow the suggestion to get. However it's not a place I would make a destination. The service was good and very friendly

Bars and Booths - they have two bars right next to each other, our server told us the small bar is for cocktails and the big bar is for beer! We sat at a comfy booth next to a window looking out at the ocean. The service was very friendly and on point, the food was okay. The fried zucchini was crispy and golden brown but the zucchini was watery which was disappointing. The short Rib tacos had tender meat in a crispy shell but then they put a super spicy sauce on them which ruined the experience. The salmon was tasty but drowning in creamy risotto. I might go back if I was in the area but just for drinks and appetizers.

The Food Is Always Great, But This Was The First Time I Ever Ordered The Roast Beef Sliders And Most Of The Meat Was Dry It Reminded Me Of Jack Links Beef Jerky.... 02/28/23 I Did Arrive About 7:30 In The Evening Maybe Someone Should Have Suggested Something Different.... The Pretzel Didn't Look All That Great Either.... HQ Gastropub Is One Of My Favorite Places To Have A Casual Meal, But That Night Just Wasn't Great.... Maybe The Moon Wasn't In Line With The Planets, It Was High Tide And The Waves Were Breaking On The Shore That Evening? I'm Just Wondering?

I visited for the first time last night after a recommendation from a friend. I decided on the buffalo chicken sandwich. Unfortunately I was less than impressed. The sandwich had the smallest amount of meat that Iโ€™ve ever seen in a chicken sandwich anywhere. Iโ€™ll attach a photo of the sandwich after I bit into it. The chicken was about 1/4โ€ thick. Honestly all I could taste was the coleslaw and bun. Flavor was okay but I wanted some chicken on my chicken sandwich. The service was good. I sat at the bar and the bartender did ask how everything was. I was honest with her too, she said sorry and shrugged it off. My bill for the sandwich and one beer was about $35 plus tip. I wonโ€™t be back and wouldnโ€™t recommend the chicken sandwich.

Too much to chose from on their amazing menu.. I had the tuna burger and it was YUMMY. Hubby had the buttermilk chicken that he is still talking about.. Excellent beer choice and fresh fruit cocktails. Love this place.. Thanks Roya for taking amazing care of us

Great place to enjoy the ocean breeze and some yummy eats! We had the rockin roll and the deviled eggs-both were great! Sitting by the open air and enjoying the games on TV was really nice! The hostess was so nice and our waitress Jessica was great!

Loved the atmosphere, great music playing. Food was very good. Fried zucchini was fresh, fried chicken salad was tasty, but the pretzel was just so so. Beer selection and cocktails were plenty good. Look across PCH at the beach and enjoy time with loved ones.

Great view of the beach from my table. Relaxing and nice, yet still an upbeat atmosphere. Would come back again for sure. The only thing I didn't care for was the greeters at the entrance. Too busy talking to one another and unprofessional flirting that is hard not to overlook. The owner or manager should expect better from them. They are at the door and on the clock. But other then that I still have them a 5 star because the food flavor and service was outstanding once seated.

Fantastic pub and eatery! We had already eaten so we just wanted to enjoy the sunset with a cocktail and appetizer. Luckily on a Monday night we were able to get a booth with the view. Strawberry Cadillac Margaritas and spicy garlic edemame were absolutely ON POINT!! Couldn't have been any better. We will definitely be going back to try the food next time!

Good restaurant. Lots of TVs. Great place to watch a game. Fun ambiance. Looks right at PCH and you can see the beach, water, and sunset. Open air. Big bars. Lots of drink options with cocktails and beers. Fun music themed menus and art work. Staff is friendly. Prices are a bit much and food taste is not quite with the prices.

I stopped by this place for a quick bite. The place was jumping because of NFL Playoffs and really loved the atmosphere. Think this place had more televisions at a bar than i ever saw. The turkey burger was great and so was the drink.

HQ Gastro pub in Huntington Beach California was great! It offers everything you could want in a beach town pub - ample parking (structure parking just off 6th and PCH), casual feel, lots of TVs for the sports enthusiasts, music playing, fantastic food, a wide variety of amazing beers on tap, and a prime location just a stone's throw away from the iconic Huntington Beach Pier. The menu at HQ Gastro pub is fantastic, offering a great selection of classic pub fare with a modern twist. But what really stands out about this place is the quality of their ingredients and the skill of their chefs. The chicken wings we had for an appetizer were crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the sushi rolls we ordered - the shrimp tempura roll, the baked salmon roll, and the California roll - were absolutely amazing. We would order all three again in a heartbeat! And let's not forget about the drinks. HQ Gastro pub has an impressive selection of beers on tap, with something to suit every taste. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking to try something new, you won't be disappointed by their selection. Last but not least, the staff at HQ Gastro pub is top-notch. They're friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. They really went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Overall, we had an amazing experience at HQ Gastro pub and can't wait to come back again. If you're looking for a great meal, great beer, and great atmosphere, look no further than HQ Gastro pub in Huntington Beach California. Five stars all around!

Very nice Gastropub across the road from the beach with excellent food and full bar. Webhad fish tacos (because yeah!) And a sausage platter. Very nice!

Notorious for the view off of the PCH, HQ is a must!!! They offer a broad menu and the vibe is vintage vinyl. Great music, good food & staff very friendly & super accommodating. There for a quick bite prior to my flight out. I was alone but really wanted to enjoy the view and soak up the sun. What I ordered: - Yellowtail Sushi (roll) - Crispy Rice - Beignets - Raspberry Beret (drink) Iโ€™d pass on ordering the roll again. Crispy rice was goodโ€”maybe a little less rice. Beignets weโ€™re amazing!!! The view, dessert, & the raspberry drink (alcohol) were everything I needed to wrap up my stay. Service was excellent! I appreciated the accommodation & attentive staff. The chef/cook came out and asked me how I enjoyed everything, I love when they do that! Overall: amazing view of the beach, great staff, loved the music/vibe, & definitely mildly obsessed with the dessert & drink. Definitely planning a return visit!

HQ was a blast! The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch! Plus the ambiance is great - plenty of TVs if you want to hang out and watch sports, gaming tables, spacious, cool music, great vibe. And you can still have a conversation, itโ€™s not that noisy. My wife and I ate at the bar and Frankie was our server. He was outstanding. We were obviously tourists, and not exactly young, and this place has a hip vibe. Frankie treated us really well, made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. He attended to us quickly, checked on us periodically (at just the right times), he was friendly and helpful with the menu, and bartenders like Frankie are the reason we prefer the interaction of eating at the bar. But he was far from the only friendly staff member. Just about everyone we interacted with - food delivery, other servers, etc. - everyone was pleasant and actually greeted us (a really pleasant blonde server comes to mind here). And the food was truly excellent. Man, Iโ€™m still thinking about that awesome pretzel! Absolutely perfect. My wife has a gluten allergy and said screw it, this thing looks too good to pass up. And she was right. Soft and fluffy on the inside, perfectly done outside, a little glaze, and both cheese and syrup (yes, syrup) to dip it in. I was hesitant about the syrup at first but wow, that combination is a big winner! The burger was delicious, great flavor, cooked to (for me, medium well) the perfect temperature, soft bun, fresh lettuce, tomato and onion, and accompanying fries hot and tasty. Very nice. A lot of locals enjoy this place and it was great to feel comfortable and welcome. This was actually our 32nd wedding anniversary and had planned originally to eat at a high end steak and seafood restaurant, changed our minds, and are incredibly happy we did. Weโ€™ll remember this really fun experience for a long time.

Extremely good food. A little pricey, but worth the extra . Good atmosphere, a little loud. Excellent selection of on tap beer.
