    This review is about the staff. Sam/Samantha. My mom has been a patient of the Infectious disease doctor there for years and she was cared for by that doctor well. Her cardiologist, in a different institute, discontinued contracting with her insurance. So in order to retain the cardiologist, and the infectious disease doctor, I called this office to ask them what type of insurances they were taking. And Sam she kept on blowing me off by telling me "many" "several" and in the end, I asked her specifically if they take "FAMILY CHOICE" and she said YES. So I trusted her and changed my mom's insurance to family choice. Then made an appointment as her condition is very critical. Sam calls me yesterday and says she needs to cancel this appointment because they DO NOT CONTRACT with FAMILY CHOICE and NEVER HAD! To do this to a patient, in such a condition, is not only below the standard of care, but also a waste of time for me, my mom's primary care that had to redo all the referrals, ONCE AGAIN. Since she already re did this referral after the change to family care. And now has to do it a second time again to find my mom another ID doctor. And the cal optima insurance company that has to work on this all over again. I wonder why people like Sam work in organizations like this that do not care about people, their well-being, and time. When eligible people who care have no job

    The best. I've been going to this for a long time, like 25 years, maybe longer. Dr Frederick has been my doctor the entire time. He's been there though all the company name changes. He' the best!

    Medication has been in and out of stock multiple other times recently which I understand is out of their control. But their are multiple versions available via generic or different dose. Imagine someone actually put in some effort in finding out what is in stock(pharmacy isn’t allowed to tell me). Yet the doctor continues to call in medication that may be out of stock until further notice. The doctors response “maybe you shouldn’t be taking it” what a cop out! I really can’t believe how they take 0 responsibility. Also, I have been paying a co pay and waiting a few days just to get my doctor on the phone and tell him what he’s been calling in is not in stock… I work in the medical field and cannot believe their lack of thoroughness. Fun fact - medication does zero good if the patient doesn’t have it. Their practice really aligns with 1800 numbers and moving as many patients as possible. Pretty unbelievable experience actually. Find a different office people.

    I would give a Zero star if I could. Choose this facility as my Primary Care physician when I moved to the area a few months ago. Called to make an appt with my physician (Dr. Lam) and the front desk staff refused. Tried to take me through 20 questions and ultimately refused to set appt. It took me 10 minutes to figure out why and she finally admitted it was because I said one of my symptoms was a sore throat. My guess was that is some type of covid protocol, but then did not ask me, or seem to care when I told them I had negative covid test that morning. I believe humans still get a cold, or strep throat, or mono... or is covid the only illness that exists anymore. This Optum Company appears to have abandoned all traditional local doctor mentality where you can go in and get a diagnosis and culture to confirm. They have forced me to pay an extra $100 to a urgent care for something they should be able to handle for my normal $10.00 co-pay. They appear to have a call center scripted approach to medicine. Maybe the 20 something's will like it. I have had too many good doctors in my past to put up with disconnected Dr/patient approach to medicine.

    My dermatologist was great, but it has been the most frustrating experience trying to get an Rx sent to the pharmacy. Over the course of 2 weeks, I’ve called several times to confirm that it was sent over but the staff kept saying it was held up in their system. Each time they processed it and tried resending it to the pharmacy, it was never delivered. It’s disappointing to see they can’t take a minute to pick up the phone and call it in when their system keeps failing.

    Love this place. I had a very good experience there. The staff was very friendly and courteous. They had a security guard on site. And wonderful restaurants in the vicinity. I highly recommend Optum Huntington Beach. I was seen by the dermatologist doctor Kenneth Alpern. He was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend him. One of the best dermatologist I've been to in a long time.

    I needed a dermatologist and was able to get in and see PA-C James Glore. Great experience, very kind and knowledgeable, made me feel comfortable the entire exam. Thank you. The place was clean and nice. Staff helpful. Would definitely recommend.

    Never had to deal with a more incompetent medical facility before and I'm in the legal field and constantly commute with medical facilities. 1st, I was told a certain time when I scheduled my appointment and when I got there I was told that my appointment was actually scheduled for an earlier time. 2nd, I was given the wrong address when I scheduled my appointment and had to call them the day of to find out where they actually were. 3rd, I had to wait 2 hours to talk before someone came out and told me that I had to wait an additional 4 hours and even then, I may not even get seen. I've been a patient of Dr. Lynn Tran for a few years now and I've never actually been seen by her. Every time I have an appointment with her I get seen by another random doctor from the practice. At this point I'm switching doctors and medical facilities to one that actually knows what they are doing. Update*** I called my insurance that day and had them change my PCP. After having to wait several months for what I was told was the next available appointment just to talk about anxiety medication and then wasting my time sitting there and not being seen and sewing other patients treated the same, I want nothing to do with this facility!

    Not good at all, I've been to the huntington beach location, from customer service to the therapist, everyone is so racist, the attitude and behavior was shocking to me, I've been there for a few treatments and never met the therapist, the girl who was the therapist's assistant , just showed me how to do these two types of exercises that's all, I'm still confused as to why my insurance didn't pay for them or what?

    I’m very disappointed with Optum only having 2 PT offices one in HB and one in Downey! I live in Brea and both offices are too far for my husband to attend for his ankle! Optum said that nothing would change just the name and of course everything has changed and will continue to change I know it! We need a closer PT place those 2 options are too far! Please Optum you need to do better!💯 we aren’t happy with you right now 😡😡

    Phone system is in its infancy but improving. The administrative staff, nurses & assistants are 1st rate. Dr. Fanning is compassionate, understanding & very knowledgable. I would not change anything

    This is one of the best clinics I have been to in recent years. The staff is responsive, friendly and professional. In this one clinic I can see my primary care doctor, rheumatologist, dermatologist, and podiatrist in one building. I can even get my blood work done there. Very convenient!

    if i could leave less than one star i would. if i could go back two months ago and tell myself don’t waste your time with the incompetent medical staff i would. the best thing you can do for yourself if you’re looking for medical assistance from this practice is to drive away. Not only did the gastroenterologist, Dr. Austin, from this practice fail to diagnose me correctly, the medicine he prescribed worsened my condition. Forget that though, at no point did he ever feel it important enough to discuss my diagnosis with ME and when i called numerous times to get answers the best medical advice he had to offer was to go somewhere else. My entire experience with this office was nothing but disastrous. The only good thing about this place is the fact that it’s 10 minutes up the street from The Donuttery. Save yourself the time, effort, energy and go somewhere they actually value patient care.
