This fairly large park is beautiful in all seasons. A great place for hikers and cyclists with breathtaking views. The park has excellent paved paths. If you are a fishing lover, there are many fishing spots in the bay. Walking through the forest, you will surely meet wild animals: deer, hares, chipmunks, squirrels and, of course, many birds

We drove here while visiting Long Island from Delaware as we were looking for some nature. Caumset has a 3 mile paved walking path that is really nice. It takes you to the main house with views of the Long Island Sound. You can walk or bike it. There are restrooms available at the beginning/end as well as near the halfway point. We saw some birds, various butterflies, and dragonflies. There is also a cafe near the parking lot. The one area we felt was underwhelming was the walled garden. There are some nice plants but there is a lot of grass and we felt it was just okay. Still, the overall experience was fun.

I recently enjoyed a phenomenal late morning, early afternoon at this treasure. If you’re looking for well marked, wide trails, beautiful scenery or a mix of shoreline and wood, this is the place for you! It’s not a strenuous hike but you can make it fairly long. Take a left onto the beach from the trail leading to the boathouse and walk west to the point. You’ll enjoy a clean beach, clear water and stunning views. From the point you’ll see Stamford CT across the sound. You’ll also see New Riches, Co-op city and some of Manhattan’s taller buildings way in the distance - maybe 35 miles. Crazy! Note that there is a paved trail...great for cyclers or those not so sure footed on gravel, dirt or sand.

One of my favorite destinations in Long Island, this park never disappoints. Miles of beach, forest trails, meadow trails, walled garden, historic estate and welcoming visitor center and cafe. There is plentiful parking even for busy summer weekend.

Great park, very scenic, great trails! Good for biking, hiking, in the winter cross country skiing, fishing, the Eroding Cliffs, the Fresh Water Pond and beach and the Long Island Sound are great sites. The English Garden is very charming. The restrooms, parking lots have been improved and increased. Take trial to Fisherman's Trail to the beach and head to west to explore the old boardwalk. They have also added a Cafe at park(limited hours).

Wonderful, well maintained park. Beautiful paths: one that's a straight, long walk to beach as well as paved path about 4 miles, that circles around a beautiful park.. Benches, horses, historical house that over looks the long Island sound... Plenty of nature. There are some interesting cut throughs and bridal paths. Great place for Walking, hiking, biking, cross country ski.

Absolutely loved this park. 3 miles of paved road for bikes and strollers, as well as a couple of places where you can get to the ocean and get a view of long island sound. Its definitely most beautiful in the fall with all the beautiful trees and leaves 🍃

Beautiful place to bike, walk, and admire God's creation in any season. When the historic farm is open during the warmest months, it is a great place to observe and learn some history.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful views, nice trails, well kept and clean. Restrooms along the way. Great place to walk and just relax. You can also view the horses along the fence line. There is no food or drinks, so you have to bring your own, take trash with you when leave or put it in garbage 🗑️ cans. Had to pay $8.00for parking if you don't live there, but it's worth it. And you cannot bring pets, which I agree with.

Beautiful place full of history and wildlife to take the family. 4 mile round trip hike to the beach but well worth it. Bicycles are also allowed here.

If you live on the island and haven't been to the historic site of Caumsett State Park, you've been missing out on all the beauty of what this park has to offer! With gorgeous trails, beautiful scenery, an equestrian, and the sites, you need more than one weekend to explore this massive park! Do yourself a favor and plan a wonderful day with the family and capture the most precious views and moments!

Love this place! A little hidden gem for biking or hiking in both trails and along the beach. Easy hiking for everybody level with some easy hills. Nice 5 mile loop down to the beach and through some woods. A tornado ripped these trees down a few weeks ago! Also beware of the funny looking (cats?) that are eating all of the grass in the park!

Beautiful Park but WARNING! It is a beautiful and clean park. Half an hour walk to water front where you meet fishermans. Water I s super clean and beach is clean and pleasant as well. You may want to bring your bug spray with you because there are aggressive tinny biting flies. WARNING! There is large Tick in this park. I got bitten by one of it. It was very hard to remove it from your body. Not a very pleasant experience. So be very careful not to brush off the trees and bushes. Also, no dogs allowed. No swimming allowed. So keep this in mind. Otherwise it is a great walking park if you are near by it.

Nice walking or biking. Take the trail down to beach; you won’t be disappointed. Worth the entry fee. I was told that you can also drive down to the fishing area and park, though there is an additional $25 parking charge.

Very nice place for hiking There is a working farm onsite , horse riding facilities, historic mansions and a beach. There are multiple trails which lead down to the beach which is great for walking. The serene waters of the Ling Island Sound make for an exhilarating hike. Highly recommended.

Best beach in NEW YORK. It feels like private beach. Clean water and very classy people go there. Plse take bug spray. Only problem is the green fly. It will bite you once you get off from the water. Also you need to pay 8$ for parking. You also have to walk 2 mile each way to get to the beach if you do not have the community parking card. Only people from the community can park the car close to the beach. It's worthed guys. Trust me!!! Just go....

I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of my most favorite places on the earth. From Milan to Jamaica, there isn't anywhere I'd rather be. Yes it's a long walk, I would say between beginner to intermediate ability. You can choose to stay on the paved portion which is a 3 mile round trip or venture off into the leas traversed trails. The whole loop being about 7ish miles. It is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Pets are not allowed, unless your pet is a horse. Caumsette offers a number of bridal paths and horses who I believe live at caumsette. I never thought I'd be jealous of a horse, tlll now. That being said I am not a horse person and I don't know any of the particulars regarding riding there or boarding or whatever. I saw some other comments about how this place is boring. I would suggest if you're bored it's probably because you're boring. I know golf isn't as exciting as hockey, unless you are a fan. Don't like it here? Good! Peace and quiet for the rest of us. It gets busy!!! You want to come here on a weekend? If it's after 8am I wouldn't even bother. Early bird and all etc... Get that worm!! Show up before 8 and you're half way through the hike before the proletariat is even roused from bed. I usually go early during the week for a more secluded and peaceful constitutional. Get that empire pass and go as much as you want.

Long, paved path for biking or walking. Minimal shade or seating areas. Very long walk to see water. Not for the elderly or young children. Only restroom is at entrance.

What adjectives can be used that haven’t been b4 ? Stunning, gorgeous, fantastic, beautiful and you’ll end up with the treat of a beach ( a rocky beach ) , but fun nonetheless. The grounds are spectacular and they even have a cafe on sight. I definitely recommend for your biking , walking , relaxing needs

Beautiful place to explore, we stayed along the paved path but look forward to going into the wooded area. The beach area is beautiful with views of Connecticut, however there's a bit of beach erosion.

Nice park for a longer walk ~5 miles in a safe and clean but still outdoor atmosphere.

  • 4/5 Aileen M. 2 years ago on Google
It was nice, a bit to long of a hike for someone like me but when I get up to the point when I can hike more I will enjoy more. A lot of it is off limits-at least the path I choice so that's a little sad.

Beautiful natural setting at Lloyd's Neck , Long Island. As the leaves change color, it's a perfect venue for a Sunday stroll. Fresh air, blue skies and quiet... Great for the soul.

Outstanding state park on the north shore of Long Island, near Huntington. They have miles and miles of paved, and also dirt/gravel trails. You can also walk right to the beach and dip your feet in the water. There is also a small café on site. Would highly recommend this park to anyone visiting the area.

Was doing a trail run with my daughter. Great location, quiet and beautiful. Lots of running opportunities under varying conditions on paved paths or in the woods. Some hills when you run down to the Long Island sound. No traffic. great

This park is always my favorite one, whether bike, jog or walk in this place, you’ll see horses running near the staple as well as wild deers.

LOVED it here! We had so much fun. We took the equestrian trails out to the harbor and got great views of the sound, then took the bluff trail back. Almost 5 miles of beautiful walking! Highly reccomend to check it out. There are some paved trails, some not. It's great for all levels and abilities and can be customized to any ability!

What an amazing park to go to. Enough spots for parking, quiet and very well maintained. There's many different terrains you'll come across which is exciting and the scenery is breathtaking. There's a cafe on location that is open Friday - Sunday 9-5.great A must go to is your in long island. Fee is $8 to enter but free with the empire pass.

Well maintained and beautiful park with great walking trails and a beautiful beach. Will definitely be back. We only managed about 4.5 miles of trails, I’d like to head back to do the parts we missed!
