Hussain Sagar, nowadays it is the one of the famous places in Hyderabad, Telangana. Once upon a time it was very disgusting and had bad smell but the government had taken responsibility and made it such a beautiful place. The budha statue in the middle is such a beautiful at the night in light view. It's an such good place to visit at night time to enjoy with friends and family.

The best place to visit in Hyderabad. Hussain Sagar is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1563. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by the River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. It also separates the city centre of Hyderabad from its neighborhood Secunderabad.The maximum depth of the lake is 32 feet. Hussain Sagar lake is a popular spot for sailing. The lake has also become a suicide spot in recent times. Hussain Sagar was built across a tributary of the river Musi river in 1563 by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. The lake was named after Hussain Shah Wali, who helped to design it. It is an artificial lake that holds water perennially fed by canals from Musi river. Hussain Sagar was the main source of water supply to Hyderabad before Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar were built on river Musi. The Buddha statue was chiseled out of a white granite rock, weighing 450 tons. It was carved by 200 sculptors for two years. The statue was transported to Hyderabad in November 1988. After initial problems, the statue was erected on 12 April 1992 on a red lotus pedestal.

This place is best on rainy season for view point. Sounding all green karpet. On top full of beautiful clouds like a blanket. And centre of water lord Buddha giving blessings to all who needed. The lake with boating was good to see. Evening/night is an ideal time to view as the place is decorated with so many beautiful lights. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Secretariat just opposite the lake looked like white House.

This viewpoint is awesome. There is no proper parking, but you can just park side of the road and just walk around here. You have different street food and sellers, if you are interested.

Stunning view over the laske Hussain Sagar. Blue sky under blue lake was just amazing. Buddha statue is also visible at a distance. Recommend time for visiting is either morning or evening, so that you'll get to see beautiful colours of sky. In the night, lighting is also very good.

Area is maintained well but the only issue and the big issue is with the dirty water of tank bund , it will be difficult to breathe in the bad smell and i don't think it's a good place to spend much time here , a classic example of how we are spoiling the mother Nature by spoiling the water sources

Very beautiful place to explore. You will come to 'Buddha statue of Hyderabad' by boat. The statue is in the mid of Hussain Sagar. You will find more beautiful view in night because of lighting. Visist once, you will not regret.

The area is well policed. The presence of police force evoke a sense of security and thanking the force for guarding the area round the clock. The lake surroundings are well maintained also the cleaning staff also is doing a great work. We haven't gone for the boating but the activity is going on. We visited at evening and the ambiance was perfect nice views good for evening walk. The area is well connected with city buses. The lake has one great Budha statue in centre and it's also a great thing.

Lot of changes towards beautification. The Sunday evening special recreation programs are good. Noted that the quality of beautification material used, not upto the mark, some measures may be taken by the authorities. The footpath or road side vendors are selling non hygiene snacks with poor quality and lesser price, this might spoil the health of commuters, request some body should care for vendors and educate them about hygiene maintenance. (I am doing my contribution)

If there is one place that has changed drastically from my previous visit, it has to be this. It is no longer the stinking place it once used to be. A vast lake and you can go on a boat ride (you have different types of boats), you can alight at the Buddha statue and feel in the middle of the sea (pun intended), visit Lumbini park nearby, go to some restaurant or just walk by the side of the lake, having an ice cream, corn or anything else you'll get from local vendors. Generally, it's a crowded area but it's too vast to say you have to keep waiting.
