今回は偕楽園の梅を見るついでに訪れてみたが、湖の西側にはカフェやボート乗り場、そして水鳥達との憩いの場となっていて、その水鳥達はマカモやユリカモメにハクチョウなど冬の定番の鳥達がいるが、それらに混じって黒いハクチョウがいて「えっなにアレ黒いからコクチョウ？」とそのまんまの反応をしてしまったけど、実はそれが正解で本当にコクチョウと言うそうだ。ただ、残念な事にに数年前鳥インフルエンザの流行があった為、石膏で出来た偽の卵を抱かせて個体数を抑制しているとの事。
