僕が福井県の山城で一番好きな山城跡ですね。とにかくこの山城跡は全国屈指の畆状竪堀群の数の多さですね。一番分かりやすいのが三の丸周辺の畆状竪堀と本丸にあたる千畳敷より上辺りにある畆状竪堀群が分かりやすいかな?と思いますね。あと、二の丸か三の丸の下辺りに伏兵穴蔵群が有るんですけど、行こうにも急な斜面なのでいつも断念していますね。宿直跡と呼ばれる曲輪が有るんですけどここからの眺めが最高に素晴らしいですね。運が良いときは福井市内を一望できるうえに日本海が見えるときもありますね。
