Although I’ve never visited, I’m sure it’s a beautiful place, but let’s call a spade a spade, “forced labor farm” in other words a slave plantation. As I scrolled through the reviews, I saw someone mention that’s it’s like pulling teeth to get the history behind the place, hmmm I wonder why.

Belmont Manor is a beautiful hidden getaway right here in Howard County. The Manor is mainly used for special events yet they do host open houses free to the public four times a year. They also host family movie nights and ghost tours. The grounds are absolutely lovely. We walked through the entire building, outside the beautiful grounds and popped in the nature center right across the barn. If you are a photographer or are looking for a place to take portraits, this is on the top of my list.

We were completely in love with Belmont Manor, almost as soon as we started the drive to the house. It had everything we wanted and more. Over half of our guests came from outside of Maryland so we knew we wanted a venue near BWI, but we also didn’t want it to feel too close to the airport. Belmont Manor was PERFECT. It felt secluded and private, super green and lush, and yet was only about a 15-minute drive from the hotel where we had our room block (The Hotel at Arundel Preserve). The manor, the grounds, and even the drive up to the venue are so beautiful. We loved having a dedicated bridal suite and a groomsmen area. We particularly loved the groomsmen area because of the pool table and cool vault from the prohibition era. We had our ceremony under the magnolia trees which was perfect and beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I loved that the grounds were so big there were so many places we could do photos and get ready. We are so happy with the tent. It was the biggest one we saw and even though they say it can fit 220 people, we only had 140 and it felt like the perfect amount of space for everyone. We also loved that the tables and chairs were included in the venue price! We worked with Jeremy and Rachel at the Belmont and found them to be responsive, attentive, and knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend other people have their wedding here, it was beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Belmont Manor was a beautiful place to get married! When we toured the venue it was winter so the tent was not up and the grounds were of course not in bloom so we weren't sure what it would look like in the summer but it was SO beautiful. It is maintained beautifully, so luscious and had a lot of space for pictures and guests. We did everything outside at the end of August, it was perfect. Would definitely recommend it to others. The venue was easy going and allows you to bring in anything you need for the wedding, there are no required vendors!

The manor and the courtyard outside is beautiful. I didn't get a chance to see the manor as a whole but what I saw issue was amazing and spacious. The courtyard is great for taking pictures and a great venue to have a wedding.

As a wedding planner based in Maryland, I definitely loved working at Belmont Manor for our client's wedding. Their beautiful tent made a nice raw canvas for us to build a custom wedding inside, and the pond, and well groomed gardens outside made for beautiful bridal portraits! I would recommend this space again.

Im not sure what more needs to be said, this venue is great. I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here during the summer and the ceremony space was beautiful. It felt like it was a hidden garden away from the world.

The perfect weather helped, but the pastoral setting made the wedding nearly magical. As out door settings go, this can't be beat. Even had it rained they had a great tent -very elegant. Sorry I have no pictures.

As a wedding photographer, there are no shortage of gorgeous views at Belmont Manor! When everything is in bloom in the spring and summer, the hardest part is choosing which part of the gardens and grounds to take portraits in... their tent is one of the more beautiful ones I've seen with all of the draping, lighting and spaciousness. Taking photos in front of the manor house gives a more historic estate feel to your portraits while the gardens, trees and expansive lawn for cocktail hour are so beautifully maintained and picturesque! I can't wait to be back again this year - their staff has been wonderful to work with! IG: @urbanrowphotography

We attended a wedding here on the grounds behind the manor and it was very beautiful. The ceremony was held in front of a pond behind the manor and then the reception was held a few feet away on the patio area. The area was beautiful and perfectly manicured. Definitely a beautiful place to hold an event. It's very secluded from the main road, so just be wary of that if you're calling a ride share. We had trouble finding one late at night after the wedding.

We attended a December Holiday Open House. We wanted to see the period Holiday decorations as well as the location. We are history lovers so that was one reason we were there. We also wanted to see the location in general as we were considering using as venue for our Vow Renewal Ceremony after a previous elopement. The Holiday Decorations were beautiful. We were allowed to view the house freely. No Group Only Tours by a Docent like at many similar sites. There were staff and volunteers in every main area to answer questions. They were very knowledgeable and we had a wonderful day. We do wish more than just the Main House were available for viewing. The outbuildings were all locked up. We were free to walk/hike the property to view the Outbuildings from the outside. We did this. We spent an entire afternoon visiting the Manor House and Grounds. We were also able to ask Staff about rentals for our Vow Renewal Ceremony. While it is a beautiful location, it did not fit our needs. It is also much more expensive than some similar sites in Howard County and Surrounding Counties. However, the other locations do not have the same level of Period Furniture and Household Items in need of protection with Staff presence and I imagine a high insurance coverage bill to cover the Manor and Contents.
