We got here like 3pm on a Thursday. Few cars on a big parking lot. And was easy enough for my husband and me both. 10-15 minutes hike in. Water fall was beautiful surrounded with green trees. Saw a snake just sun bathing. We saw eel in the water hole before. And that’s no one else there. Good for us.

Our favorite hike to do as a family. Quick 10min hike up to the falls then the trail continues on. Our kids love to go further along the trail and play in the creek which leads to other small water falls. Blue paint markings along the trees make the path easy to follow. Perfect hike for a family.

Family friendly hiking, walk, near to parking with or without cost. I really like this cascade falls trail as it's easy, and full of beauty during any season.

Great trail, well maintained, 318 ft. elevation, rocks, roots, small falls, and climbs. Moderate skill level, nice trail for hiking, biking, family, and pet.

Nice and pleasant place to hike. If you are looking for a simple place to hike this is the best trail to go. There are 4 trails in the same park. Easy trail Time-1-1.5 hr

Awesome place and hiking trails 💯❤️Also depends on which day you're going, parking can be full. It's an easy hike. Near to the parking lot,it has restroom too. Entrance fee is $2. I recently visited Aug last week. In Fall it will be so beautiful!

Patapsco is absolutely one of my favorite hikes. From Cascade Falls to the Flour Company ruins there is plenty to see. Easy parking and a $2 entrance

This waterfall is accessible through the Avalon area entrance. Around 2 miles from the gate. Medium hike from the parking lot. Very popular spot for photographers and hikers.

Cascade Falls is not impressive, as waterfalls go. It's only about 8 feet tall, and you must see it on a day during a very rainy period in order for there to be attractive flow over the fall like you see in most photos. That said, there are some positives. The trail from the sizable parking area to the falls is very short....15 minute walk for inexperienced hikers. There are other scenic trails, a river and picnic areas nearby. Don't show up before posted opening hour because gate will be locked at park entrance.

Beautiful, peaceful, short climb to the falls. There is a pay drop box upon entering. I think it was 2-3$ (under 5$) These fees help maintain and improve America's parks. I know you think seeing a waterfall or walking a trail should be free but please re-consider and have some personal integrity.

Cascade falls is a great place to hike. We went in late February and it was perfect weather. It was cold enough where there are no bugs but warm enough when you move you're not cold. There are different ways to hike the trails so having an offline map with you on your phone will help you navigate. Depending on the path it can be quite a long hike. There are suspension bridges on the paths and they are really neat. The pathway itself has a ton of history. The railroad beside it is the oldest railroad in the United States. It comnects Baltimore to Ellicott City. If you're looking for a good hike, this is certainly the place to go. It is a Maryland State Park and they do a great job and keeping the place looking great!

Fun, clean place to get the full experience of being in nature, without having to travel out of the Baltimore DC metropolitan area. The park features beginner and intermediate hiking trails. Paved areas are pedestrian friendly. Bathroom facilities are well kept and sufficient size given the high volume of visitors. Weekends can be a little crowded and noisy. People are rude, but you can't blame the park for that.

Short little waterfall, maybe 20 feet, but still very scenic. The trail to get to the falls is a bit steep in places, and if you continue past the falls, the trail gets VERY steep going both up and down. The trails also are quite rocky. There are very few smooth, level spots, and they are a welcome relief every time one is found. Allow at least 90 minutes for the whole loop. Great parking, outhouses available, $2 fee per car (honor system) to enter the area.

Beautiful place to hike in the trees. The waterfall is photogenic. Really nicely maintained trails and a cool place to bird watch. Every time I've been it hasn't been too overwhelmed with people which is what I like most. I dislike crowds.

Short hike up the cascade trail to the falls from River Rd but moderately strenuous for elderly and out of shape individuals. You'll want to park at the Cascade Falls lot, or you'll have to make the 3 mile round trip River Rd walk or bike ride from the main lot to enjoy the trail itself.

Lovely light hike for fall. Parking at the trail head is a bit limited, but worth it. Fall colors are really getting going too.

It's a beautiful area to hike. The trail was steep and slippery in some spots (but it is the end of December). I took one star away just because part of the trail wasn't well marked.

It was a pleasant small hiking to reach cascade waterfall. It is not that large as it is looks in the images, but very clear and nice water.
