Lovely church. 2 reais to view the inside, and there is a lovely mirador! Really worth it

One of the main tourist churches present in Olinda, this is one of the main ones, which is located at the top of the Cathedral, has beautiful architecture and I was able to see the facade well during my visit to the Olinda carnival.

During our trip to Recife, we took a cultural tour through the city of Olinda, one of the tourist attractions, the cathedral, and accompanied the group by a local guide accredited by the city hall, which has a decree that visits to historical sites can only be with guides accredited by the municipality, excellent. Professional I recommend.

It is a very simple church with a beautiful view. Former archbishop Dom Hélder Câmara is buried inside the church.

They should not allow “guides” to deceive people within the church. Without any hiring or questioning about the tourist's interest in having a guide during the visit. Even though they say that they have no interest, this group that enjoys living on "help" from the government, approaches you within the church, even tries to coerce you into giving money to them, I'm not uneducated, even more so in a church, but I told this supposed guide to get away from us. He looked at me with an ugly face, I retaliated. Pelourinho in Olinda is terrible! BLOW ON TOP OF BLOW!

Worst experience in Recife and Olinda. A tour guide charged me 2 reales per person to enter the Church, after paying them he began to do a circuit explaining things about the church. Obviously we thought that this was in exchange for the entrance fee we paid, but no, the tour ended in a corner far from the church and with no exit, where he started charging 150, 75 and 25 reales. The worst thing is that he started to get aggressive, so we had no choice but to give a couple of bills we had, but he also ended up kicking us out of the church and scolding us. When trying to find someone in charge, we found out that all the "officials" who were there were part of his group, so they all supported him. I am Catholic and it is a real shame, for Olinda and for the Catholic Church in Brazil. I don't recommend it to anyone. Better take your faith somewhere else where you can be safer.
