Paikassa huokuu hyvin vanha aikakausi. Kosken näytös kuohuineen ottaa katsojan lumoihinsa. Suosittelen hyvin vahvasti ja vieressä on ihana puisto missä voi istua rauhassa ihailemassa.

Imatra rapids is one of the city's most visited and perhaps the most popular attraction to photograph. The dam opens 26.6. – 25.8. Wednesday-Sunday at 18.00 to the beat of music composed by Jean Sibelius. The show is free but a walk with a tourist guide costs (2019, 5 €).

Kannattaa osua koskelle padon avaamisen aikaan. Hienon näköistä katseltavaa ja musiikki sopi tunnelmaan.

Kosken aukaisu on hieno tilaisuus. Ennen ihmisen muokkaamaa ympäristöä kuitenkin tyylikkästi vaalitaan menneitä aikoja.

A great place for spend time with friends and family. This place has two grill space along side to the water flowing.

Went to view the dam water release, which takes place at 6pm. It was absolutely incredible and attended by a couple of hundred people. The scene was absolutely stunning and the Ukrainian national anthem played (the river runs to Russia), followed by beautiful classical music. Highly recommend! The event takes place until late August.

Fantastic experience. The show consists of the flood gates opening, and seeing and hearing the force of water. The opeing times vary with the season. Now it was at 1800(6pm), the summer timetable.

A lovely place that is worth enjoying 365 days in a year!

The rapids are beautiful, especially in the summertime when they are flowing. The scenery is great as you watch the rapids flow from the bridge above, or even get closer by going down. Absolutely a must-see for everyone.

Nice sightseeing place. Peaceful and exciting to watch the water flow. And there is nice track for walking, running and cycling. And very near to keskusta and shopping area and also there is a McDonald's at side of this. There is a park for kids to play and fountain for viewing and lot of trees as usual to provide shades and parking is also available for free on the main road for 2 hours. It is really nice to go here with group of people and have lots of pictures. Families with kids can enjoy it as well.

The dam was interesting to see from the bridge and the deep gorge the water flows. A lovely park. Once a week they release water from the dam to music and lights during summer.

The view is stunning. Unfortunately, I did not see the opening the dam, but still beautiful place.

Very suggestive place! There is a free parking just close to the bridge from which you can admire the rapids. Be sure that you are there when the dam is open so you can see the amazing waterfalls. At the end of August they opened at 6pm. The dam stays open for about 15 mins.

A lovely central area of Imatra and Rapids at the Hydro Electric Dam giving a show Wednesday to Saturday 6pm, when the Dam is let loose for all to see and hear the beauty of Nature rolling down from the Vuoksi River...Breathtakingly beautiful!!

Very beautiful landscape. Unfortunately the water flow was closed for construction back in August 2019. Overall, the nature and the view is very nice. Definitely recommend.

Amazing views of the rapids, dam and a great walk even in the cold October month. The rapid shows were unfortunately cancelled due to covid but impressive views nonetheless.
