Amazing campground! Almost every site is on the water, amazing camp hosts, beautiful scenery, fairly level concrete pads, covered picnic tables at each site, very well maintained grounds, great fishing, boat launch, bathrooms/ adequate shower facilities, DOG FRIENDLY!! First time seeing manatees! Boats moving through the lock during the day, fishing from the dam, sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous. Smaller campground (30 sites) positioned perfectly for privacy as well as beautiful views of the water..(instead of your neighbors!) Definitely suggest reservations...well ahead of time...seems to stay booked. We have a 33ft 5th wheel with a slide and awning and had plenty of space.

I love coming to this park with my daughter. I love that it's got sand for the children so they can take their shoes off when they're playing. Write down the small hill there's a swimming area that's only about 5 ft deep at the most. Yes it is fresh water so it's a bit brackish but it's good for children to play in so long as the parents are attending to them. They do have life vests there for children to use when they're swimming. They also have a boat launch or boat ramp I should say and a small docking area. There are shaded awnings and barbecue areas lot of benches and seating lots of open space shade trees. It's really a good place to go. And I believe there's also an RV parking Community right there for those of you that drive your RVs down here but I'm not entirely sure about all that I just see it when I pull in.

We love it out here. We bring some snacks and now it is a bit of a refuge if you want to escape the news and just want a "normal" slice of life. Don't tell anyone!

Very nice peaceful visit to a small museum and to view the locks. A few benches to view the locks would be so helpful for those who could use a place to rest.

Went here not too long ago for a memorial for my uncle. It was honestly not bad. Wasn't busy, or loud or dirty. They keep the place cleaned. The playground was nice as well, plenty benches and places to sit with shade. Also benches near the water which I found very nice, it was semi quiet and calming to just sit and remember my uncle.

Wife and I have been using this park for years with no issues until this year. Issue 1: Residents bordering the park allow their pit bull to get loose and roam the park unleashed. Very dangerous for children playing as well as we walk our dogs there leashed which is a recipe for disaster. When I talked to persons working there they say it happens frequently and were indifferent to the situation. 2: We have been asked to leave much earlier than sunset which is what is posted. They begin closing road gates an hour before sunset. We pay our taxes and would like to use "our" park in the evenings.

Always a great time! Just pay attention to the closing times (especially if you are outin a boat)- they're pretty good at locking the gates on time.

It was a very nice and very clean and where we were you were able to see the boats come and the play ground was close to the pavilion we had n the restrooms so was very convenient.

Beautiful Scenery and well maintained. Great fishing with a big pavilion as well as a bunch of smaller ones with picknick tables under them. Great spot for a few cold ones and a smoke session.

  • 5/5 Mike R. 3 years ago on Google
Excellent free boat launch. Plenty of parking. Wide parking slots.

  • 4/5 Our RV A. 3 years ago on Google
Very nicely kept recreation area. Lots of picnic shelters, large grassy areas and several places to fish. The reason its not a five is they have the locks viewing area and visitors center. Its about 12 miles to get to it from the campground even though you can see it about 200 yards across the dam.

This is a peaceful spot in the middle of nowhere. Certain areas are closed off due to COVID. It would be great for a picnic. There are RV's parked here.

👍👍 What a great hidden gem! Fun playground equipment for the girls with 2 playgrounds. 2 Grills with picnic tables with a water hose nearby. 2 basketball hoops/tennis court. If you have little ones there is a nice circle of side walk to ride a bike. There was also a grassy area they could play ball.
