Great. History in this place. More authentic feeling than more famous pubs on maybe Coronado Island. Drinks good. Food good. Plus two quarter pool tables and an outside deck.

Much different than it used to be. Before I would never set foot in this bar now it's cleaned up and looks great. Awesome atmosphere and good drinks.

I don't really drink so I'm not the most well versed in alcoholism, so obviously I don't know many drink names. But the one I do know is a margarita so that's what I ordered. Mans looks me in the eye and says I'm not making that. And takes someone else's order. Someone else had to make the drink and it took way longer than it needed because he was too manly to do anything besides pour beer? At closing time they just yelled at us to get out. I'd give 0 stars if possible

Fun gritty old bar. This is the one bar to party at in Imperial Beach. Can catch the games here , play some pool, and have a tasty snack from Scotty’s Burgers inside. Love the vibe.

The Plank is quite an institution in our little beach town. The new(ish) co-owners are warm and welcoming. Plus, they are dog people, so dogs are welcomed. My dog makes this a regular stop on our walk to collect his treats I often stop for their famous 25 cent coffee in the morning.

It's an alright little bar. The bartender didn't know the drink I requested. Kinda odd. Oh well, I'm sure the alcoholic drinks are fine. The pool tables need to be serviced badly. It's a bar what more can you say.

I went to the Plank with my walking group (I.B. Walking) which is part of the Imperial Beach Senior Center. We met there before starting our morning walk. I didn't have anything to eat there but have been told their hamburgers are great. Every morning they have great coffee for only .25 cents a cup. The Man who currently owns Ye Olde Plank is a retired Navy Master Chief Petty Officer and I must say runs a clean, shipshape bar/restaurant.

The drinks were great and the staff were very friendly! Fun atmosphere, we'll definitely be back again!

It's definitely gotten better, they hire women now and the place has cleaned up a bit. They only take cash which can make it a bit inconvenient at times.

Dive Bar- style.. Cash only bar, ATM available inside. 2 Pool tables available, they are a few quarters a game. Bathrooms are clean. No mirror in men Bathroom only in the females restroom. A few food items available. You can also bring your own food in. Staff if super nice! Jukebox available, not many options for music selection. A bit out of date.

We went on a Thursday night so there wasn't many people just some locals, the only thing is the smell which isn't their fault the beach is polluted but other than that it was cool.

It's a charming beach bar with fitting decor and building materials. The bartender is on point and the locals have good stories to tell. The drinks are not watered down either.

Local bar, very friendly even to us tourists. Wonderful martini. Marty the owner checked on us several times to make sure all was okay. Small menu, just burger or hot dog, we decided to stay and eat anyway as it was just such a friendly place. Daniel, the cook was very personable and the burger was amazingly good. What a nice local bar find so close to the condo we rented for the week. We all had a wonderful time there leaving with smiles and memories of "remember that local friendly bar we found in imperial beach"

I like playing pool there with my friend Jack Daniels. The people are always friendly and the bar tender is a great guy and knows how to make everything. Music is perfect. Walking distance to the beach. AAA+++

Oldest bar in IB. Local dive. Fun atmosphere. Large patio where you can smoke. Friendly staff takes care of their customers. Drinks on the cheaper side. Owners are nice and down-to-earth locals. And Scottie Burgers located inside are to die for! Best burger in town!

It is the most Southwest bar in then US you can enjoy libations at. I took a picture by the sign and bought the sweatshirt. I also added my signed dollar bill to the ceiling of dollars. Great service....

Great place for mixed drinks near the beach. It's cash only but there's an ATM on site.

Great customer service bartender was very nice not pushy at all of trying to sell me liquor nice friendly environment I had a 7UP and called it a tonight. Nice place to go out with family and friends or a date

My favorite bar in the world. Grew up four blocks from this place and love being there. Different crowds depending on when you go. Great drinks and awesome staff. Best kept secret in the San Diego area unless you are a local.

Right on the beach, the Plank is an Imperial Beach landmark. Great bartenders, friendly staff, well poured drinks, and a fun happy crowd! Smoking and vaping is allowed on the patio. There are also pool tables in the back.

We had a drink here yesterday and it was nice and casual....a very laid back atmosphere. It was exactly what we were hoping for when we walked in. The bouncer was polite and friendly and the bartender was helpful. We ordered a couple of beers and went out onto their outdoor patio to enjoy the scenery. Nice place!

I have been to this bar two times. The first time I had rude service. I was with friends and we are friendly people and used our manners and everything but it was just obvious that we were not welcome there. I can't put my finger on exactly what was wrong, but it seemed like the staff knew we were tourists and those were grounds for getting axed. I really really liked the location and the overall vibe of the bar. Today late afternoon, I went back with my boyfriend and we were both treated brusquely by the bartender. There was absolutely no reason for it. There will be no third visit. Bullpen Tavern is now my new bar in IB. And the Pool is FREE :)

Old & Famous. A local hot spot in South San Diego. "Imperial Beach" California. Some of the bartenders have been there for several years doing an awsome job. Great crowd/customers. Great drinks, service, ambience & you are 100 yards from the beach 🌴 which is home to the world famous annual"Sand Castle" event & celebration. As well as the most southerly pier in the United States. 3/21/22 update: My self included, (now) basically live on the East Coast - 🇺🇸. To clarify, (What we & everyone who's a local lovingly)call it "The Plank". Everyone knows what you mean. East Coast Fla. USA 🇺🇸 actually has the most southerly pier in the United States and Imperial Beach Cal.USA 🇺🇸 where The Plank is has always held title of most southerly pier. Of course the best time to visit is weekend nights for a great crowd including off duty young military men & beautiful California women. .

Needed to socialize after a very busy Sunday afternoon my Watering Hole the scoreboard closing early so I had a couple of hours open pasta conversation sample and a glass of ice cold beer they open every day 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. make sure to stop the same time for a great service and lots and lots and lots of fun

We had a great time visiting from out of town. The locals and the bar tenders were very welcoming. The drinks were sooo good!

Great friendly bar, reasonable prices on drinks. They have a couple of pool tables and a juke box. If you are visiting IB, check this place out. The only down side it’s cash only, but I believe they might accept cards soon!

It was the only establishment open.... Cool little pub with a "locals only" vibe. Not rude or cross, but not accommodating or friendly at all.

Great place for a beer. Have a seat on the patio and take a look out at the pacific ocean.
