Absolutely stunning!!! Loved the service and def the food. The cashier was really kind and friendly! We were the last five customers to get a seat after queuing up for almost 2 hours. I wouldn’t say it’s a 100% worth the queue but definitely worth the experience :) Highly recommend anyone travelling to Tokyo to try it out :) the restaurant is a tiny so I highly recommend queuing up early during dinner time. Kudos to the cashier/server and the friendly chefs for their kind and friendly service 🫶🏻

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Can’t stop thinking about it! Queued at 12:10pm on a Sunday with about 8 people in front (moved really quick) ordered the wagu sirloin & American sirloin my partner and I loved it it melts in your mouth definitely recommend getting different options to share and not both get the same one! The dipping sauces and service from the staff was great and the cabbage side with dressing was INCREDIBLE!!!! Can’t wait to come back

One of the best meals I had in Japan. Only downside is the long waiting time but was worth it! Arrived around 2 and had to wait just over 2 hours. Would recommend to arrive around 4 for minimal waiting time. Restaurant is very small but seating is decent. They take the order before you arrive so food arrives quickly. Rice is especially good too! Would definitely return.

Long queue to go into a 14 seater restaurant (Harajuku outlet) but it was the best 45 minute wait as we were rewarded with friendly service and awesomely mouth-watering meal. You can cook the partially cooked Gyukatsu (deep fried beef) just to your liking on the hot stone. I like mine medium rare so a bit of time to sear the morsel of meat to make it perfect. The cut was tender and portion just right.

Wow! We arrived at around 1120am on a weekday and had to wait an hour. I thought to myself, this food better blow my mind… Well it sure did, and I’d go back over and over again. It’s an experience I’ve never had before and every bite was amazing. Would highly recommend!!

The meat was very tender and juicy. It was deliciously paired with their complimentary cold barley drink. The line will take a long while because you have to cook your food. But the experience was worthwhile. The place was cozy. Just be ready to smell like BBQ smoke afterward.

Be prepared to queue to enjoy the best beef gyukatsu. We were there around 4.30pm and had to queue for almost 1.5hours. The menu was simple. Either the hotstone grill set or the ready cooked set. Trust me, order the hotstone set and choose the biggest meat portion option. Regardless the doneness you prefer, the meat remains tender and juicy. Personally the narrow stairs gave me anxiety. It was steep and narrow, and had to cater to people walking up and down the same flight of stairs. Perhaps a different outlet would give a better waiting environment.

I rarely say restaurants are a must go, but this is one of the handful that I have gone to. 10/10 quality, taste and price. The most optimal is the large set 2760yen (250g meat). Medium 2100yen (190g meat) is good too and you can order extra meat if you want. You get an extra free bowl of rice and free tea. You get to cook it on a stone plate!! Yay fun!! 9/10 (only downside is the small place of about 14-17 seats and wait time about 1hr+) plus the place is a bit oily and smokey so don't hang around too much after your meal.

One of the best meal we had in Tokyo! The meat was so soft and tender. We arrived at around 10.50am, right before it opened and there was already a line formed. Recommend to go slightly earlier before the place opens :) Highly recommended and would love to eat here again!

If you plan to eat here I suggest setting aside at least 2 hours of your time as the line to get in can get quite long. For us it was an hour before we could get in. I also suggest to go early and not when its near closing time as they can ask you to leave if they are sold out for the day even if you were in line before 9pm. Take note that each person must order 1 set meal each. The food was good and its a nice expirience grilling on the stone plate they provide. The resto itself had a cozy "hole in the wall" vibe. Over all a nice place to eat with friends

Wow. DELICIOUS! Firstly, the map took up to a clothes shop front on Harajuku. The is incorrect. The entry is off the main road/behind the shop. I have included a photo of what the front looks like. Ad I have requested a location update thru google. Secondly, if you can't do stairs then this is not the place for you - there is a steep set down to the restaurant. It is also very small inside, maybe 15 ppl max. Ok, now for the serious stuff. I should have got a bigger size, coz it was over too soon. So so so yum, perfectly tender (make sure you do not overcook!). The cabbage dressing is what dreams are made of. The sauces perfectly compliment the meat. The wasabi was #chefskiss. The miso was delicious, perfectly balanced flavours. I cannot fault a single thing. We got there right on 11am, there was no line and we were the 2nd table in. When we left, the line was up the stairs to street level. Because you are cooking the beef yourself it is not a quick meal (you really want to savour those flavours). Would recommend, and would definitely go again, 10/10

Queued for 1.5hrs to enter. It's a restaurant in the basement, with the entrance facing the main road rather than the mini road in Google Directions. Food was excellent and ate my fill with 2 cutlets (queued so long, hence definitely had to order more hehe). Do try salting the cutlet on both sides with the salt grinder provided while it's on the grill for extra flavour. Side dishes were pretty meh but I guess its a good experience.

Love this restaurant it is one of our favourite places to eat when we are in the country. We are Canadian and speak very little Japanese but the staff always makes us feel like we are one of the locals. I give this lace 5 stars 👍

Drop in from the hustle and bustle of Harajuku into this fun little Tonkatsu joint. Only space for 17 people at a combination of tables and counters. The staff spoke English and were happy and friendly to tourists. When we arrived there was a long queue up the stairs of people waiting to get in, luckily when we arrived (around 12:30 on a weekday) there were only two people ahead of us. Tables rotate fairly quickly as all food is served on one tray and you cook the beef yourself. We got this as a recommendation from a friend and will definitely be passing it on to others.

I'm usually not a fan katsu but this was a great experience where you table grill your own beef Tonkatsu. They flash fry a battered beef cutlet for you and you finish the cooking off yourself at your table. You really only need salt but they provided a variety of sauces.

We came here on a Sunday, 30 mins before they open and we were the first in the queue. Google map directions were a bit off. You have to head to the Main Street (near the bus stop). Look out for the white signboard that says “牛”. I had 1.5 cutlets and skipped the side dishes. Portion was huge and I was stuffed at the end of the meal. You can get one free refill of rice (which I did not get). The meat was tender and it was nothing like I ever had. It took us about 40 mins to finish the meal. When we got out of the restaurant, there was about 15-20 people in the line. Highly recommend if you love beef at super reasonable prices!

Close to station, easy to find. Ordered 130g set, very tasty! Good service! Me and my friend get in on a hot summer afternoon, quite hot inside. Order cola! People!

So so so good just like everyone says it is. We came at around 7pm and waited just for 40 minutes. The stairs and restaurant get really hot in summer because of weak air conditioning so bring fans if you need it. The service and energy of the chefs were impeccable, super friendly and nice. The meat.. omg, the while experience and taste truly transcends anything you could have elsewhere. The meat was not as tender as you might expect but that's the point, it's not wagyu, you get a solid bite with each piece and the freshness from grilling it yourself makes every piece a new experience. The fried outer layer wasn't too thick or oily providing good texture and flavour. I would 100% go back here.

This place was amazing!! There’s a pretty good sized line here and it never really got better the whole time we were there. However it does move pretty fast. They only have 4 options of dishes you can buy and they are all pretty similar so these guys are cranking out some food. You have to order and pay before you are seated, but once we sat down our food arrived in less than 5 minutes. It tasted soooo good!! Each person must order their own dish and they only accept cash, so come prepared. Definitely recommend you coming to this place!!

Nice chain gyukatsu in the heart of Harajuku. There is only one main course served. The only choices are 1 piece, 1.5 pieces and 2 pieces. The queue is not too terrible. Be forewarned, the restaurant is not well ventilated and can get quite hot in the summer.

The waitline for an hour is paid off. The experience of eating this is very worth tp waiting for. This restaurant located on basement, so you have to wait in the very small stairs. The menu is basically 3 package, where the difference is only how many grams u want the beef. The set menu include with few condiments. Adding rice for 1x is free.

The gyukatsu is a fairly new addition to the Japanese cuisine, and everyone should be thankful for it. This place serves up some delicious beef that is served medium rare, but you can cook it more on a hot plate right in front of you. There are not many seats here, but the place feels cozy. A great experience that is totally worth a try.

The famous Gyukatsu!! As usual, there was a queue. The restaurant located on the basement floor. So we've waited for 10-15 minutes, be careful because the stairs is small. Staff brought the menu, we chose, and pay it immediately. Seatings are limited too. We chose the 130 gr & 200 gram beef. Oh my God, the beef are so tasty, soft, it melted in your mouth RIGHT AFTER you chew it. They just melted. Just like that. The best beef I've ever taste so far!! With or without sauce, they are still good. Goddamn.

One of the best food experiences we’ve had so far. The gyukatsu was crispy on the outside yet perfectly tender on the inside – melts right in your mouth. 🤤 The meat was thick, juicy, and well marbled (perfect to eat medium/medium well). The place is quite small with 17 seats so be prepared to wait 45 minutes in line. There’s no reservation/ticketing system so you will have to wait outside or in a very tight staircase. Our waiting experience: 10:15am – first in line 10:30am – line grew +4 people 10:45am – line grew +6 people 11:00am – the line had 20 people There are only 3 beef cutlet sets on the menu (130g, 195g, & 260g) averaging at ¥2,000/dish.

Yum, just yumm, totally worth the wait and queue. A bit of trouble getting up and down the narrow steps, and you may need to queue quite a bit with potential risk of the stall just running out of meat, but the quality and taste is great. Recommend trying all sorts of combination of flavours, soaked in the sauce, dipped in wasabi and soy sauce, covered in mentaiko (make sure you don’t put the spicy cod roe directly on the grill as it will pop), but my favourite was just the rock salt ground directly onto the grill and meat, fantastic.

If I could give 6 stars for this restaurant, I would. It was THE best meal I've had when I stayed in Tokyo. I do not eat raw meat or anything close to it but let me tell you when I tried it here, it was so good that I devoured everything even when I'm already full. The whole experience grilling it on the stone made it more amazing. I went here with my mom and we enjoyed it so much. We got lost a little bit but the signage on google photos helped us find the place. You have to go underground to get to it and it looked a little sketchy because of how small the place is but i swear you wont regret it and will probably go back the next time you visit around the area again.

Great place! Queued for half an hour during weekday lunch time, and it’s worth waiting! The beef is tender, you need to grill it 10 seconds each side before eat it. And it’s better than quite a lot of proper steak restaurants, yes, it’s this good!

Waited 1hr on a weekday night to get seated. The food is great but would recommend going to another location. This location has limited seating so the wait is extra long and i did not particularly feel safe waiting on the narrow staircase.

I suggest you go here during ‘dead’ hours to avoid the long lines. I ordered their 2 pcs of cutlet and it was great. Altho I think their branch in Osaka serves thicker pieces of meat! Still one of the best food I had during my JP trip.

Taste is good but the service is bad. The good of this store is no long queue as like other gyukatsu motomura but the waiter doesnt let me to sit (many chair is empty). Also the price is 100 yen more expensive than other store but it is not problem as long as not queueing. After you go out all your clothes and hair will smelly

I was there first on a Sunday morning 10am. At about 1030am, there are 5 to 6 people behind me. At 11am, more than 15 people lining up. The meats and the side dishes are fabulous! Highly recommended!

Sizzling meat sound as a start of the food gasgonomy! Yummy as meat melts in our mouth with the grilled meat overnight each small stone fire pot. Only issue is the long wait due to the small seating with only 5 tables with 2-4 pax per table. Warning - outer clothes stink alert!

  • 5/5 Vida T. 6 months ago on Google
We arrived at the opening time but unfortunately we were the first one in line as the restaurant fit ~20 people only We waited exactly 1 hour (worth a wait) We ordered one set each This is the best Gyukatsu we have ever had!! Let me repeat! Worth the wait :) Definitely recommend!

First of all if there is a queue here, just wait in the queue, it’s worth it. Juicy fried beef cutlet with tasty barley rice, I ended up finishing 3 cutlets but I think mortals could get away with 1.5. I will definitely go again.

  • 5/5 Joel L. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly staff who were helpful when we had issues with our meal. The meat was tender and you could cook it to any degree you like. The place is small so there will likely be a queue, and we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. I'd recommend this place to others around the area.

  • 4/5 hara 4 e. 1 year ago on Google
I loved the jello-like, yet soft consistency of the gyukatsu, it just melted in my mouth, and the mochi dessert was really delicious as well. I feel like the meal might be better if there were a side dish that offered a different type of taste in the experience because the gyukatsu, sauces, salad, soup, and rice with the topping are all savory dishes. I found myself drinking a lot of water. The service is polite and speedy, the restaurant is very stream lined, understandably because there was a line even 30 minutes after opening time. I’d recommend going maybe right at opening time or maybe even a bit before if you want to sit down without a wait.

We heard this is a must try and so we went with high expectations. Those expectations were met with some incredible gyukatsu, friendly service, and overall a wonderful time. We got there 30 minutes before opening to avoid waiting on a big line. One of the best meals I've had in Japan so far and can't wait to go there again in the future.

  • 5/5 Aaron h. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Though I did not have to wait in line when i stumbled upon this little gem randomly at night, I can imagine the insane long que during normal hours. The best Gyukatsu I had in Japan. The meat was well marbled, thick, and juicy (I ate it on medium rare). Paired with wasabi & a light dip of the sauce and you got yourself an orgasm in the mouth.

The place is cramped, smoky and hot. Queued for 30 minutes, the beef katsu was excellent. Been here few times and never get disappointed. Price is cheap for good quality meats

  • 5/5 Chris L. 1 year ago on Google
Their beef cutlet is so jucy and the condiments are very delicious too. This is a busy place and it is recommended to come during week days. It is a small quaint place with not many seats - so be prepared to wait. Tip - bring cash while they do accept credit cards they require u to do online payments which can be a hassle

  • 5/5 eLouise D. 1 year ago on Google
We queued for an hour but the food was well worth the wait. The gyukatsu was extremely crispy on the outside yet tender and moist on the inside (I grilled to medium-rare). If you could not eat rare meat then you could ask the staff to make it well-done for you. Eating the rice with grated yam was a fun experience. The miso was soothing and seasoned to taste too. The staff are nice and attentive. They speak little English but I found no difficulty in communicating with them. Would definitely come back again even if we have to wait in line.

Kon'nichiwa!! What a AMAZINGGGGGG Dinner and Experience this restaurant was. The Line To Wait is 100% worth it. The restaurant is small in size. Only a few items to choose from. I order 2 Wagyu Beef Katsu Cutlet Meal set which is pictured. I ordered 1 Highball to drink that was Refreshing. The Music is perfect for Dining and the Girls Pictured in the photo are extremely Pleasant and Kind. My favorite Place to Eat is this restaurant so far in Tokyo Japan. I'm finishing this up with how I felt after eating this DELICIOUS Meal! UMAI UMAI UMAI!! (YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!) ✌🏻

Look. At. That. Beautiful. Piece of meat. The marbling, the tenderness, the crisp breading...all contributed to a very delicious gyukatsu meal. The gyukatsu went beautifully with salt, it brought out the steak flavour even more 💯 The wait was quite long as the space is small but would definitely recommend trying this!
