A bit far from the station but the hotel provides the shuttle bus. You can walk along the seaside peacefully. Very warm and friendly staff, but the only star I would not give is because of the dining. The food is just on average level. There’s a very kind and funny waiter with black glassware in the dining room, a plus for the service.

I absolutely loved my stay here. Away from the crowds and an authentic experience. I am vegetarian and they went over and above with providing me with delicious food! My husband is not vegetarian and I enjoyed his hilarious excursion eating snail, oyster, eel, sushi and for breakfast he had a whole fish, head included. If this isn’t to your taste request vegetarian ;) The customer service was excellent. We felt like royalty here. Our server explained each part of our 3 courses - which is served in your room! - and what to pair it with. Beautiful sea views of Hiroshima to watch the sunset from our window. I wish I had stayed here more than one night as there is nice walking and deer who are not like the overly tamed/aggressive type at the wharf. The price is reflective of the service and total experience; completely worth it in my opinion!!

This hotel is AMAZING! From the lovely welcome we received to the incredible in-room dinner we had, and the awesome outdoor onsen bath... we all wished we had more days to spend here. The staff is incredibly friendly and will go out of your way to help. AND my daughter had been looking to buy a kimono, and we found a gorgeous used one at the hotel gift shop for the low price of only 3,000yen (US $30) - EVERYTHING about this hotel was above and beyond! Would recommend for anyone, from honeymooners to families with children.

Stayed here one night. The service was amazing. It's a bit away from the port, and quiet as a result, they also have a shuttle bus they will drop you off and pick you up with. The room had a great view of the sea and the lights of Hiroshima. The public bath was very relaxing. Would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding service! I was so impressed with the staff, the location, and the service! While the hotel isn’t right by the pier like the other hotels, it is a short drive or about 15 min walk from the pier. I highly recommend it simply for the fact that it’s more peaceful and away from the crowds. There is a shuttle bus that will take you to and from the hotel, just simply reserve at the front desk. When you arrive by ferry the van will already be waiting at the pier! The staff are there for any possible questions or needs you have. Upon request they gave me a wonderful seaside room, it was an exquisite view! The dinner is traditional kaiseki cuisine and served right in your room based on your requested time. The onsen is fantastic as well! You will feel absolutely relaxed and taken care of by the end of the day, and come back to your room where they have already prepared your futon bed for you. The staff is very friendly, speak English, and will explain everything to you! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

First, you must understand that this is a ryokan, not a western style hotel. Breakfast and dinner will be lots of seafood and you will sleep on a futon which is much less cushy than what you will find in a hotel. As long as you adjust your expectations you will enjoy this lodging. The staff is OUTSTANDING. We accidentally left a cell phone a charger and by the time we realized that, a staff member was already driving it up to us at the ferry station. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience.

A magical place to stay. Unlike anything I have experienced before. Delicious Japanese meals, incredibly attentive staff. So lovely and helpful. The sea view room was worth every yen. Best of all they allowed us to use the onsen even though we both have tattoos. Had I known how lovely it was we would perhaps have stayed an extra night. Well worth the trip from Kyoto! They were more than happy to cater to us as vegetarians. Highlight of our japan trip!

Great spot with the most friendly staff. Meals were delicious, however, breakfast included many fish items (incl entire fish with eyeballs) that we could not stomach so early in the morning! Building itself is outdated but overall it is still a lovely spot to experience traditional Japanese accommodation. Make sure to ask for a seaside room!

If you want to expérience tradional japanese room and food, and discover the miyajima island, this is a great experience. If you don't like seafood, you may not appreciate the dinner as others will do.

Hotel: a little far from the attractions on foot but we have an easy shuttle service. the place is old but well maintained. room: the room is good, they change the beds during your dinner for the tatami mats which were very comfortable, the shower isn't more but it does the job. the balcony with sea view allowed us to see lots of animals which was so pleasant. Food: lots of oysters (grill, tempura and soup) and we are not fans... So we were still a little hungry after dinner, so maybe offer options? It has a really nice Ryoken vibe

Had a lovely time staying here overnight, which I highly recommend so you're not rushed exploring what Miyajima can offer. The service was excellent, staff spoke English and the shared bathhouse is tattoo-friendly. There was really no need to use the shower in the room. The rooms are tatami and they prep your futon during dinnertime. The shuttle bus was very prompt. They can pick up your luggage before checking in so you can explore the island hands-free. All you need to do is go to the information desk at the ferry terminal & they'll call for you. Their location is beautiful by the beach, I can imagine summertime escapes would be fun as well. It snowed the next morning and the view was beautiful with the occasional deer walking by. The stay includes a dinner and breakfast. Both were delicious, beautifully presented and served with local ingredients (oysters and conger eel!) Menu can also be provided in English.

We stayed at Miyajima Seaside Hotel for 2 nights. Has been an incredible experience. The rooms are spacious, laid out in traditional Japanese style. They serve food in the room or you can dine at the restaurant, as per your preference. The food is an experience. The variety, quality, attention to detail and the portion size of the food served is brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. They offer free shuttle services to the ferry point throughout the day. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The onsen (public bath) is very well maintained. Would recommend staying here for a great traditional Japanese experience.

Very nice Japanese experience, the hotel remains traditional, adorable staff and useful shuttle service makes it easy to reach the pier.

Staff were amazing! Made us feel very welcome. It's off the beaten track, but has great sea views. The rooms are a bit dated, but spotlessly clean, and dinner and breakfast were served by charming staff, including an intern who seemed like an expert and was amazingly kind to us. A very traditional Japanese experience.

Classic traditional ryokan (Japanese B&B) with an onsen (hot spring). Beautiful place. Immaculate service. I recommend taking half board to enjoy a fantastic elaborated dinner served in the room. The onsen facilities are great and there’s also table-tennis and karaoke 🎤

One of the best experiences we've had in all of our month-long trip to Japan. A Ryokan, all traditional breakfast and dinner, and lovely accomodations and services. Super recommended!!!

A superb experience at a lovely hotel. We stayed in a Japanese style room with a great view over the ocean. The staff were super friendly and helpful and sent a shuttle for our luggage when we arrived early in the day. We had our first ever onsen experience in this hotel and loved it. But the highlight was the Japanese banquet served in our room. Amazing food and delightful service.

Fantastic 1982 vintage hotel- stunning location with wonderful view of bay and Hiroshima beyond. Staff are extremely kind, attentive and professional. Food was fantastic and they were very flexible with changes to the menu (must be done well in advance!). Onsen was nice, and all public spaces are very dated, but kept up perfectly and very clean. Would stay again for sure.
