I ordered the pollo chipotle and asked for black beans instead of refried. Chips were thin and crisp, just as I like! Food looked great, portion sizes were nice, tasted wonderful. Service was excellent. Family atmosphere. Dining room very clean. I came in an hour before closing and was treated very well. A little out of my way, but I’d make a point to come back anytime I’m near Independence.

Hidden gem in Independence, MO. Regular salsa was good, has a small kick to it. The spicy salsa is extremely spicy. 🌶️😍. The chips could use a bit more salt. I ordered three beef tacos were delicious. A good seasoning and a smoky flavor. 😋 My friend ordered a shrimp taco an El pastor taco and a carnitas (pork) taco. She said the El pastor was about the same as other restaurants. The carnitas taco was a little dry. The shrimp taco reminded her of the ones she had in the Florida keys. Service was really nice. She took care of us and checked up on us to make sure things were good.

I love this place! Good service, food is delicious, quick with the food and super hot. Margaritas are very good, our sweet tea never got below half when offered a refill. Prices are excellent! Definitely my favorite restaurant in Sugar Creek.

Best Damn authentic Mexican tacos in Independence. Period. Hands down. Don't bother going anywhere else. They also have a decent tequila selection. Standard issue beer selection, and a wider variety of Mexican soda pop. This is where genuine authentic Mexican fare is at!

It was rather hot inside the building. The service was decent and friendly enough. The food was good, though pricey for the portions served. There are so many places that serve this style of cooking, that you can get the same for cheaper, or at least more for the same money. And probably a more comfortable climate for indoor dining on a hot summer day. Try it and see what you think. I can leave this place for others to enjoy.

The food was insane. Large portions that were hot and fresh. There wasn't one person who worked there we did not have a conversation. It's always a good time when someone takes the time to see how you are doing, not the here is the food, glad it was good, next customer

Walked in and made a take out order for some enchiladas. The woman at the counter was very friendly, food was great, and they threw in a little bag of chips and salsa. EL Pico on the square charged me $4 for a little bag of chips and salsa for take out not going there again. This is my new favorite restaurant can't wait to try other menu items.

Had lunch here today. Had chicken Freitas. The chicken was seasoned well and lots of onions & peppers. The guacamole is the best I’ve had anywhere, chunky & topped with some pico. The chips are fresh and warm & thin. Service was quick. The beans & rice were pretty standard, nothing special. O my negative was the salsa was tasty but just too thin. I’ll be going back. Had a margarita and it was very good too. Prices are reasonable.

The food is amazing! The portions are huge! I am sitting here very full and happy. This is a wonderful restaurant in a strip mall. Definitely did not expect the top food in a strip mall, but it is here. Do not miss this gem.

Small local restaurant with delicious authentic food at very reasonable prices. Since we are from out of town, we used Google reviews to choose this fantastic place. We were NOT disappointed. It's not a big flashy restaurant but it has excellent food and a very friendly staff. We'll definitely go back next time we are here. Thanks for a great meal.

The food came out quickly! Fresh and hot! For how much food was on our plates, the price was unbelievable! Our 3 adults and 2 kids only about $50! We were shocked at how low it was!

It is a family owned restaurant and that makes it an absolute joy! They are all so nice and the food is so delicious. I try something new everything and everytime I am amazed!!!!

I ordered through DoorDash and got The Mexican Burrito. It was loaded with Steak chunks! It also had fresh cilantro and onion. The flavor was great, covered in half red sauce half cheese sauce. This meal came with rice and beans, I was really impressed with the beans! My girlfriend got the Chicken Fajita Chimichanga, it was huge! Every bit as big as my burrito. The salsa was the best I have had in this area, fresh and flavorful.

First time here and I'll definitely be back! Service was nice and FAST!!! barely waited for the food to come out! Drink was delicious. Appetizers meals and dessert for 3 with a BIG pinacolada included and the bill was under $60!! My new weekend spot

The best Mexican food I've ever had. My husband and I stopped in for lunch, I got the chicken burrito & he got the Mexican burrito. Both were excellent, the queso is also really good! Great service & the prices are even better. A lot of their lunch specials are $8!

Taco Tuesday is really good here. We love the pork tacos. It's every Tuesday for me and my friend: Girl's Day Out. We like the after-lunch rush time. Friendly service and fair prices. Hint: Can't have gluten? Just dump out the tacos and give them to your friend! Doubled taco shells, yum!!

It is an hidden gem. Food is made fresh and served quickly. This place was not very crowded but the food quality and taste is better than most restaurants. It is a family owned business that we all should support. Will certainly visit again every time I get a chance.

We have a large family, we never get by a restaurant for less than $100. Not only was I able to feed my crew + leftovers for $85. It was also AMAZING! My wife had the pork chimi, my son and I the ground beef burrito my tacos and a quesadilla. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! Mis felicitaciones al chef!

This place has a very homey atmosphere but also very professional and exhibited outstanding people skills. The service started with a very accommodating and friendly welcome at the door and politely asked us to find our seats. It was easy as they had the tables marked to show they were adhering to the correct social distancing guidelines. We were then greeted again just as we found our seat. The meal was fantastic and the service was impeccable. I strongly recommend this restaurant and last but certainly not least. The restroom was stocked and clean.
